Isn't Pattaya just one big amusement park? It also has hotels, and too many large shopping malls, as well as other amusement parks. They don't have to be all in the same building.

In Pattaya long ago the places most touted to open a casino were Ambassador Hotel as an existing facility (wasn't it the largest hotel in Asia at one time? and Phoenix Golf Course where the story was Thaksin was going to build one there after he'd bought it in his wife's name. Dunno if she still owns it? The Avenue would be a good location also. Never heard it proposed, just my idea.

There's lots of Buddhist temples in Viet Nam but I've yet to see a monk in any of them. And they certainly don't walk the streets with a begging bowl like the Thai monks.
