  1. Go to Kittiphan at 293-5 Samsaen Rd. They are reasonably priced, and the work they did for me was truly world class, for comparison I used a pair of pants from a $2000 suit tailored by one of San francisco's top tailors (waiting list of over 6 months), and the tailoring was of equal quality, the fabric from the $2000 suit might have been a little better, but it was close. Kittiphan does top quality work, and you won't pay through the nose. I paid $175 for my pants, but because of the cut I wanted, they probably used nearly twice as much material as someone else would need. They qouted me around $500+ for a suit, but again that was a really unique suit, so I would think a "normal" suit would be a lot cheaper. Hope that helps.

Also... Just in case, beware od D'Oriental Fashion. I'm sure that in your search for quality tailoring you will never find them, but in case someone else is reading, at D'Oriental Fashion they are total scam artists. They make all their money on tourists that are brought there by tuk-tuks. They -will- con you, so stay away. I hundreds of dollars there, so learn from my mistake and stay away!

can anyone confirm this about kittiphan? It sounds excellent....

  2. Hey,

I wanted to get a tailor made cashmere suit. Any recommendations? I don't mind spending a bit more for quality, but don't know much about suits/tailors.

What can I expect to pay for a good quality 100% cashmere suit?

Where is a good and honest tailor in Bangkok? (I'm in silom, so close to there if possible)

How many fittings can I expect?

  3. I have friends from home visiting and they want to see some thai boxing tonight. Any ideas for a good place to go? What time do matches usually start? I'd very much prefer somewhere that doesn't have a "farong price" also.

  4. hello,

I am looking at buying a condo in Bangkok. Right now I am looking at one for ~2.5M baht that is about 40 sqm studio kitchen nook and pool+fitness. It is near soi convent. Does that sound like a good deal? It is clean and I have been renting here for a few weeks w/o complaints. The room rents for around 25K baht and the building is almost full. Anyone know if there are any major construction projects planned in the area that could effect price?

I would probably go back to the USA for awhile and hopefully they can rent it for me. Does this work OK here?

Also foreigners can buy condos straight up right? Like I don't need to screw around with a Thai corporation or anything like that?

This would be the first piece of real estate I buy.

Anyway if you can answer any of these things Iw ould very much appreiciate it.

    Thanks.

  5. It's about time some of you folks reminded yourselves of the rules you agreed to follow when you joined Thaivisa. Specifically these two:

"2) Posting another members personal details, photos or web site details is forbidden and will result in being banned. Excessive, aggressive posts against other members, moderators and admin; or flaming will not be tolerated. 'Flaming' is best defined as posting or responding to a message in a way clearly intended to incite useless arguments, rants, and/or for launching personal attacks, insulting, being hateful, useless criticism, name calling, swearing and other bad behavior or comments meant to incite anger."

"3) Religious or racial slurs, rude and degrading comments towards women, or extremely negative views of Thailand will not be tolerated."

If I broke any of these rules I'm sorry. Please let me know where I crossed the line and edit my post if necessary. Also, regardless of if I broke any rules

"Someday you will be hunted down like the dog you are.

Keep on braging you sick fool "

    Almost certainly did

  6. i would guess 30-40 baht an hour and as for the manager having a degree and been through Mc'd training program here in los i would think about 14 - 16000 a month but i could be wrong but as we all know the wages are lower here, just like there prices

24 baht per hour in Chang Mai.

  7. Someday you will be hunted down like the dog you are.

I don't understand why you're so angry. Its not like these girls even think twice about their boyfriends. They're just happy to have the money. I will admit that my sample size is skewed because if they had truely monogamous relationships they would be less likely to talk to go out and meet other farong but its not like I'm breaking up loving unions. I just think sending money to a thai girl while you are out of the country is just about the stupidest thing you can do in most cases. Particularily if your relationship is probably for money anyway (you're 40-60, shes 20-30).

Again, there are exceptions, and I always give the benefit of the doubt but the odds are pretty bad for the farong in this regard. Meh I could rant about this for awhile but I'd probably make enemies. I'm just saying general observations. I understand it is theoretically possible for a 49 yr old and a 21 yr old to have a meaningful relationship. I'd give OP about 20 to 1 odds his girl is getting railed by another dude right now though and 50 to 1 she has in the since OP left. If you don't like those odds I'd be curious to see what you put them at.

I don't understand, does OP think he is THAT sexy/interesting/rich/fun to be with etc, that he is really the love of this girls life. Does OP have 20 yr old girls throwing themselves at him in his home country? If not why are they doing it in thailand and not there? If the answer is 'cause she's poor then most poor girls in thailand (as well as as a lot of other countries) think about 30 sec into the future which is easily less than the months or years it takes to wait for OP.

Meh, I'm sorta being an ass here, but I think it is all true and people should understand this before it bites them later.

  8. Just curious why everyone is in thailand. Like what % is for (cheap living, cultures, girls, landscape, etc..). I will probably comment on this more later, but I'm curious about the responses. If work here why did you decide to work here instead of your home country?

-Ignore the subtitle please, I can't find a way to edit it....sorry.

  9. I have never met a thai girl who did not cheat on her farong boyfriend when he is out of the country. Most of them (ones I do or don't shag) we end up having a laugh about how they get money from their bf. My friends have pretty much had the same experiences. This includes university girls.

I'm not saying ALL girls are like this but its ridiculusly standard. If there are absolutely any hints she is cheating on you she is.
