  1. Cambodia allow Cialis/Viagra or drugs on those category to be OTW.

Thailand generally have more restrictions. I can however, recommend you to just purchase online. So many generics on Cialis such as Tadali, Galis. Most pharmacy have them anyways.

  2. We live in the age of smartphones. Record all conversations. You have voice activated recorders. It's not what he says to your wife its what your wife answers. He's only a male looking for a score .

Trust me, even if she refuses, things will get worse and the woman will be forced out of her work.

I have story to share but not in this thread.

General foreigners keep forgetting that this is Thailand. Those with authority will resort to bullet and when that happens, you'll realize that this is indeed Thailand.

  3. The indoor market by the clock tower on Thanon Phetkasem is called the 'Plaza' and is indeed very popular with Malaysians, including large size Indian families, so you might find what you want there.

But as said you need to haggle.

All shops in clock tower are very tricky.

I have worked in the area for like 3 years and I still dont get used to them.

You have to be very patient to haggle them down to over half of their price, and since Malaysians are also trying to get large discounts, these vendors knows how to handle people who likes to haggle.

Unless you are lucky to find a kind seller or unless you know how much they really worth for, avoid the place.

  4. Sorry for the double post.

Since I dont know your situation, I'm just going to recommend you to go to your lawyer.

If it is verbal agreement, she can one day take her word back and drag the case to the court. It'll be lengthy case.
Make sure the lawyer set up a secure agreement as secure as possible, payment to your ex will be done under the observation of the lawyer, of course, you will need to pay a certain % to the lawyer as comission.

Also, "She also wants an "additional agreement" that I must pay her cash sums if I remarry and/or have more kids later" is ridiculous, once divorced, she have completely no control over you, so I think she just wants to extort money from you. I think you both should get an "agreement" on how much to pay to your ex.

The additiona agreement will never be legally enforced, no law state such thing.

From my point of view, its just a trick to earn more money. Its up to you to negotiate how much she wants.

  5. Step 1) To divorce, just go to the municipal (Amphur) and ask the officers to let you both sign a divorce paper. - End

Now to secure the right to take care of the children is tricky, usually you must talk with your ex wife first and see how she agreed.

If she agrees to do what you want without complain and you feel ok with verbal agreement, then go to step 1)

Now if your ex agrees with what you want but you still want written arguement, go to a trusted lawyer, have him write an agreement in English and Thai, or if the lawyer is incapable if writing in English, then have the lawyer write an agreement in Thai and you take it to translate. I think your lawyer will take care at this point and you can go to step 1) again.

Whatever you do, you will always end with step 1)

  6. I really do hope they are forced out and a team of accountants go through government finance to reveal what really went on here

Apparently, half of the so called "neutral" Thais I know now tell me that they just want peace, they want election. They dont care about driving anyone out anymore, they are tired, they are ready to submit to corruption.

    Thai will never change.

  7. Government pays to buy vote, but cant pay for the rice they promised.
If the country is bankcrupt, must I pay for the debt I never make?

PS: I'm actually surprised. We expats cares to do analysis on these kind of news, but when I told my Thai friends about the current situation, none of them knows the information. They dont even care to analysis the government project. All they do is keep telling that they love Thailand, and complain of Red/Yellow mob, but they dont do anything.
    Such differences.

  8. How old are you?

It's possible. 50% of Hat Yai people dont speak "southern accent", they speak normal Bangkok accent where it's easy to hear and speak.

If you are University level it's quite easy to get a visa. The Prince of Songkla University have many English speaking teachers and oversea-graduated lecturers who could speak ok-English.

  9. Apparently, the Central opposite of Lee Garden was cursed for having too little car park, so Central Festival build lots of car park.

I live around the new Central Festival and I hate it during weekend. Traffic jam around the area. I'm not too happy about it.

  10. Hi tropo,

The University I work at (Prince of Songkhla University) is interested to get some Kefir grain to culture for educational purpose.
Actually I have been trying to get my hand on the Kefit grain (for culture) and to try it, heard it's good for health and some alcohol in it.

Would appreciate if you would share it with me.

  11. I am a pharmacist, and the answer is "yes, you can still purchase tramadol over the counter."

Last year, we received a letter from Thai FDA asking for cooperation to carefully observe patient who want to buy tramadol, and refuse sale if they look like they will be involve in tramadol abuse. There's no official law forbidding sale for tramadol yet.

Reason why some pharmacy refuses to sell it is, they have to keep record of "stock" and who they "sell" to.
It's big problem, some pharmacy will refuse to keep the record.

  12. I do practice Thai Traditional Medicine even though I am a pharmacist.

Depending on the physician, it may involve folk believe etc. Newer Thai Traditional practitioners tend to use Science knowledge, based on scientific research, thesis, papers, etc.

However, personal experience taught me that the original, old-styled Thai traditional practitioners are more effective even though sometime they mix folk believe and religious in their treatment.

I dont know about Cambodian medicine, but considering both shared similar history, I'm guessing both are similar.

PS: I hope you refer to Cambodian medicine (herbal) practitioner and not the "black magic practitioner." I am strictly talking about Thai and Cambodian herbal practitioner, either TTMed Doctor or TTMed Pharmacist.

  13. Though luck, Songkla city isnt as lively as you thought it is.

    2. There's place for Westerners/expats to hang out, the area is just opposite the Indonesian Embassy. There'll be junction where bars, BBQ resto, etc. are held. They're soft bars (nothing funny going on) and it's pretty cool place to hang out with. It's pretty much the place for Westerners to hang out due to the fact that embassies are scattered around the location, and the area is where expats chills after work.

Cant advise on question no. 1 and no.3.

    Best of luck!

  14. Why anybody would have a Foreign currency deposit account in this country is beyond me. They charge a percentage for opening it, and also for closing it, and pay almost zero interest.

In relation to the exchange rate, my crystal ball was broken a few years back, and no replacements are available here. Maybe ebay.

I was planning to have one due to the depressing USD currency.

BBL staff once offered me but I refused, but since I'm receiving less and less, I thought of keeping USD first until the rate increases. If what you said is true then it doesnt seem worth it. :/ Dang it...
