That would be a debit card
Or a Thai Credit card...., which you get points for using etc which you don't get with debit card.
Just recently got an Ipad for the Mrs from points and still got a load left.

To pay for things in Thailand from your Thai bank account without any currency exchange fees ?

I do believe you are mistaken.
Comprehensive insurance covers all your healthcare expenses in Thailand, both in-patient and out-patient (OPD)
I believe I am not, mine doesn't cover OPD as i didn't opt to pay the premium.

You make no sense. Insurance Co's do cover day surgery as it is cheaper than keeping someone overnight when the proceedure does not require it.
Not true, many policies do not cover Out-Patient Treatment (OPD) unless you pay a premium

Do you mean lens replacement surgery for cataracts ?
I had both eyes done with new multifocal lens's (sp?) at BKK Pattaya.
If only getting one eye done at a time was told no overnight stay, if do both at same time then overnight stay.
I opted for both at same time due to having to return to work, they did first eye, waited 10 minutes to confirm I could see ok from that eye then did the second eye.
Surgeon and staff were all excellent, now fully sighted again and hopefully never need glasses again, more than happy with the outcome.

well there was when I booked last year, 62 UK pounds each leg. Changed planes so auto changed the seats, and no notification. First they agreed to a refund then backtracked as the seat I did get, by checking in 5 hours early, was similar to the one i reserved.
Food requested lacto vegetarian, was served lo calorie vegetarian, inedible. Offered the vegan option, also inedible. Their economy offerings not only got the special meal right but was better. The drink selection was good, but not worth the money.
Are you sure you can pay for extra legroom in Q-Suites, never even seen that option

According to the picture that power supply outputs maximum 24V, 3A, 24*3=72W
Do you think 72W should be enough to trickle charge a couple of 9V batteries? Bad idea!
@Crossy I think this is another topic which you might want to close.
The power supply is connected to the load and the batteries, it will attempt to draw a current proportional to the total circuit resistance
-
Measure the resistance between the 2 plates with a multimeter.
You should then be able to work out the current draw at 24V (V=IR so I=V/R)
Possible higher current draw is pulling down the voltage of the power supply, probably has a current limiter installed in it.

Thank you for that. Did they tell you that if your passbook shows a transaction every month then you don't need a statement as well? If that is the case then I am in the clear, as I use my BKK bank account for ATM withdrawals, nothing else.
Yes, she only asked for a statement for the months that did not have any entries but it was easier just to print the statement for the full year. I'm not sure if I had an entry every month she wouldn't have asked for the statement but they are so inconsistent that it will probably change on my next visit.

For BKK Bank you can request a 1 year statement from the mobile app and print it off, as i recently had to do at map Ta Put as there were months in my bank book with no entries, this was the first time they have asked me for it. I have now set up a 1 monthly schedule in the BKK bank app to transfer 100 baht each month to my retirement account so each month has an entry in the passbook.

Just buy a lead with 3.5mm jack at both ends and plug it into the headphone socket on your iPod.Help please and I hope I am in the right forum!
Recently bought a D Max with Kenwood audio but it only has a 3.5mm jack connection for MP3 and no USB. I need to play my iPod in the car through the audio system and I am struggling to find/buy the required 3.5mm jack/iPod connector lead - any ideas where I can get one.
I have tried various places to be met with baffled looks. BTW I am in Songkhla.
Cheers

Thanks a lot! I will try. For example, Toyota already offers the free insurance for 1 year (I have no idea how much it would cost anyway) while Ford doesn't, but Ford offers a 0% interest rate for finance 48 months.
Strange, as I have just booked a new Ford focus, I couldn't get 0% finance, but I did get 1 year free insurance, plus a few cheap extra's including film, couple of bits of trim, furry seat belt covers (who the hell actually uses these!)

Anyone know where I can get a legal TIS stamped slip on for a CBR250R, would be good if available in pattaya or if anyplace in Thailand that can post them to pattaya. Thanks.

ducati was selling clear tank protectors for sure, but hard to fit it to the tank all i know. We can check at bike fest.
and, yes, you never go wrong with a carbon fiber pad but this time i go for a silver carbon instead, something different in life you know.
Next step is interchanging some of the 'bikers' stuff from my cbr250 to cbr500 like rear pegs, levers etc, i do not want to give them away for free when i will sell my cbr250 and new mirrors are a must as the stock ones are to wide for my city traffic bombings:)
And then the exhaust will be gone. 'Akrapovic' is releasing a pipe stated in their website and an unknown brand named called 'Jetset' - anyone knows? - i like the full system black pearl finish 'Moriwaki' which is being sold in bigwing with bigwing member discount for 34,000 thb, not that bad for a full system and it is certified through government - seen the certificate - that it is legal in Thailand so you can put it in your green book easily and no hassle with the cops and annual emission tests forever but Moriwaki keeps the catalyzer for environment unlike many aftermarket pipes so i am not sure if the performance gain and weight reduction will be good or not still only option that i can buy even tomorrow
I need the check the weight difference between the stock and Moriwaki though. If the difference is less than 4- 5 kg, i do not buy it.
I do not like the chromy look - it looks darker in real due to black finish in the mid - at the tips that much but the bike is new and the aftermarket manufacturers need at least 3 4- months to create some products unfortunately:(
Kawa guys, how much is a full system pipe from a respected brand for kawa er6n or f in Thailand? just for comparison.
Thanks.
Are you selling an aftermarket pipe for cbr250r, would be interested if you are

Must admit to really liking my Iphone4, it was my first smartphone and changed the way I do my most common 'net related tasks, i.e. email, basic browsing and stocks checks. Hardly ever use a PC now, has made travelling without lugging a laptop around much easier.
Any other smartphone i've used just seem like copies of the Iphone to me.
Certainly won't upgrade to an Iphone5 as the the 4 does everything I want.

If you stay in Dynasty on Soi 4 in BKK (bit old and run down) or better the new Dynasty Grand on soi 6 in BKK (about 1600 baht) and then stay in Dynasty on soi 12 (good newish hotel) in Pattaya they will provide free mini-bus transfers between the two hotels so would save you a couple of taxi fares and they are good centrally located hotels.

Personally i think it's great that food times are not regimented, why should they be unless required to fit in with a schedule, ie kids school day meals or working hours.
I love the fact that my wife thinks nothing of starting to cook up a few quick dishes at midnight if we are both a bit hungry.
Regarding table manners, i think thai youngsters are a lot more polite and refined around the table than western kids who won't even sit at the table, can't use a knife and fork and only eat pizza and burgers.
All generalisations obviously but on the whole thats my experience of it.

The most important thing you have to get is a report from the police station on the loss of your licence. I found this easy to obtain, with the help of a Thai friend for translating purposes. Then go to the licence issuing office and they will advise you of further requirements, passport copies etc. I found the renewal process quite easy to do.
I got a replacement in Pattaya last week, exactly as this post states, you only require a Police report, which was free, and a copy of your passport.

I have the Kasikorn Platinum CC and reckon they provide very good service, I especially like the SMS confirmation every time the card is used so you can instantly see if it has been misused.

Centara Mirage has the best kids facilities now, big lazy river pool, kids club etc.
Good deals can be found on latestays, we got a good sized family room for 4500 per night , booking it 2 days before we went.

Normally got a green arrow if you can turn left on red light and a red arrow if you can't. But it will be up to the BiB's discretion as usual.
Just opened a Pattaya Bank Account

With BKK Bank you can print a 1 year statement from the mobile app instantly.
Previous visit to immigration they said they needed a 1 year statement (first time they have ever asked in 10 years), immigration lady showed me how to do it from the app, emailed it to her and she printed it off for me in the immigration office free of charge.
This was at Map Ta Phut immigration where they are usually very helpful.
