  1. Yeah these signs are so ambiguous and should be removed. Their command of English isn't the best.

They should replace the sign with a simple 'No left turn on red light'.

    ???

I kind of hope they don't,  I came here because I don't like many of our sterile ways of life in the west. Don't get me wrong I love my country but this is a refreshing change of pace six months a year. I wouldn't be here if Thais had all the same rules and regulations we have back home. It can be dangerous like anything else one might do to have fun.

I know what you mean but a little safer wouldn't be too much to ask rather than leaving things to chance at say, each set of traffic lights or junction.

  3. One of the many things is for people to earn a decent wage and live more comfortably and therefore have the ability to pay some sort of income tax and then if the correct people are in power spend wisely on the infrastructure etc.

20 years down the line everyone will see a difference.

For me it ought to start at school with a proper educational system however that's for another discussion ?

I live near Sakon Nakhon and we have them here, I know they had speed cameras on the ring road in Bangkok five years ago as I was blessed with a ticket from one of those. My friend here just got two red light tickets in the mail but the picture clearly shows the light is yellow, he still had to pay them.

Amber and still had to pay. Nothing shocks me here anymore!

The big question is "When will things improve in this country?"

or would it be just strapped over under the regular seat.

I am planning on getting a Dream for 38,500 instead of the Super Cub for 46,000 and get it vinyl wrapped if the prices are not ridiculous.

I would wrap the Super Cub too so it's not like I am getting a Dream to make it look like a Super Cub.

just because.. they are exactly the same bike, why pay 7500 baht more if they will end up looking the same

thinking little bit darker olive green would be nice like this:

Good point yes. I've got the single seat conversion which is a pain to fit because of the lock situation and a new longer cable that you need to fit.

Yeah can't remember if you can

Good point yes. I've fitted the bags to the chrome grab bar that comes with the original seat.

I'll try and find a photo for you...

If anybody ever markets some after market panniers with wrap around crash bars for those Honda cubs they will be onto a small fortune. A sort of poor mans electroglide.

GT Rider on Pattaya Tai sells original Cub accessories which include panniers. I've got the old brown saddle bag postman type however they've got the new groovy Kevlar type similar to the Ducati Scrambler bags.

1500 baht. I might treat myself tomorrow ?

The thing that interests me is that the Dream 110i was available for years and hardly anybody bought it.

Then Honda painted it some well chosen funky colors and re-branded it the Super Cub and it flew off the showroom floor.

Can't move for the damn things here in hillbilly land.

Aye yer right. The power of marketing eh. Love the colours. So simple and so effective.
