  1. Hi All,

Is there any good specialist in Bangkok for management of scoliosis in adults. I've read there are various non-surgical things that can be done to manage, including physical therapy etc. Any suggestions or recommendations would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

  2. Hi All,

I have never played golf before. I would like to start. I would like a few lessons and practice at a driving range before going out on a course. Can anyone recommend somewhere for lessons please? I live near Asoke, so the closer to that the better.

I would prefer a real driving range, rather than a simulator.

    Thanks in advance.

Your relationship with her won't make any difference in her getting a US visa.  She will have to get it on her own merit/qualifications.

    Good luck.

Appreciate the link, and appreciate you took the time to reply.

I was hoping for a layman's guide - sort of "this is what I did" blog type thing. From my personal experience on other bureaucratic processes - often the "requirements" that are described in 80% detail, actually count for 20% of the marks (pereto rule). So often, folks focus on providing lots of info on "A" when they are mostly interested in "B".

Again, thanks for your reply. Several dozen folks have read and not replied. So I appreciated that you have at least tried to help. Thank you.

Yes. Thanks for that. I have been telling her this for yonks. I think the most important thing, counterintuitively, is that I am not American. I have hear so many tales of love, US guy wants to take his holiday girl home...... or even short term expat wants to take short term girl home..... its as clear as day, he's relocating back to USA - or it is a high risk of same..... so I can understand the immigration officer saying no.

Anyway, totally agree. She's gotta get it on her own merit, and if not there are 194 other countries in the world (yes, I had to google that, 555) and it's just a holiday - 10 days from 365, from 80yrs or so that we are on the planet. Perspective, so many folks rate this so highly (which I understand when a decent and honest US citizen wants to bring is decent and honest GF to meet his aged parents etc.); but for me, it's just a holiday. To be honest, I'd prefer to go to Turkey next 555.

    Thanks.

  5. Hi All,

I am planning a vacation to the USA with my Thai GF. Is there a "how to" guide or a check list or a "do's and don'ts" list anywhere online for Thai citizens applying for tourist visas?

FYI - I am Irish, and have lived and worked in Thailand for over 10yrs with visa and work permits etc. I have visited the US several times (without GF) during that period. She (Thai GF) is a full time 3rd yr university student, and we have lived together for 3yrs (her name is on the rental lease). I believe she will satisfy the "sufficient reason to return" criteria and since I am not American then there is no risk that I am secretly "returning home to the US" and trying to take her with me under false pretenses.

    Thanks in advance

  6. Thanks guys.

No love lost with regard to water fights and powder..... chalk me down as "humbug". For the last decade (except last year) I purposely leave Thailand during Songkran week. Too old and grumpy for that "activity" 555.

Good to hear the Northern side of Chaweng is getting a bit of love. Years back, that was the after-hours hub, when Green Mango and The Club closed at 2am or whatever ????

Selfish as I am, I like a "medium" level of busy-ness. I mean, it is nice to walk out on the soi and have a choice of 5-10 places to eat or drink, and good to see those places with sustainable levels of customers. But, when it is starting to look like Pattaya or Soi Bangla, then it loses my support.

Anyway - I am getting off topic on my own post. So, it seems like staying at Chaweng for a week will be feasible, compared to 6 months ago. So I'll go ahead and take a look at a few places there.

    Thanks.

  7. Hi Everyone,

I've heard Samui is slowly getting busier, and Chaweng is coming back to life.

Best guess, will mid-Chaweng area (say Arkbar to Central Festival) be a ghost town for Songkran this year, or is it looking promising to have a reasonable variety of bars and restaurants to choose from?

    Thanks in advance.

  8. Dear All,

I am interested to study psychology. Not for work, just because I find it very interesting and would like to learn more in a structured way. I work full time in Bangkok, 9-5, so looking for something part-time. Nights, weekend, maybe online with some occasional face-to-face contact time.

I would love to hear from anyone that might know of some options.

    Many thanks in advance.

I haven't heard of anyone succeeding in doing this.

I have separate certificates for Thailand and the US and wound up getting 2 doses in each country (with booster scheduled in Thailand next week). 2 AZ in Thailand, 2 Pfizer in US.

At this point nothing is requiring you to show proof of a booster within Thailand. What I would do if I were you (and basically what I am doing) is get a booster in Thailand 3 or more months after my last vaccine dose so that if/when it is necessary I can prove 3 doses within Thailand.

When I go to the US next summer (fingers crossed) I might then get another booster especially if there is an improved vaccine available. Always keeping at least 3 months between booster doses of course.

That’s great advice Sheryl. I think I’ll do just that, and not get caught up in hype with regard to paperwork. Meanwhile if I hear of anyone succeeding in getting the data uploaded, I’ll repost here. Thanks again.

  10. Hi everyone,

I recently returned from overseas. While I was there I got a Pfizer booster. I have the formal certificate etc.

i previously had full (double) vaccine in Thailand which is already registered on the Morphrom app.

Does anyone know if (and how) I can get my overseas booster registered?

    Thanks in advance.

I thought this was going to be a thread about paperwork, etc. ????

    I'm impressed with your priorities!

All paperwork is checked several times, incidentally, but not taking too long.

Good to know, thanks for the info.

Leaving, I assume its just passport and PCR test and vaccine certs, right?

  12. Thank you all for your informative replies. I will surely find what I am looking for there. I've been to both Central and Homepro several times, but never got past the mens clothes / hard ware aisle. Sounds obvious now, that it has been pointed out. Thanks.

  13. Hi Everyone.

Does anyone know how to transfer Microsoft Authenticator from my old Android phone to my new iPhone?

I can install the app, but it seems like there is no way to back up the Android account onto i-cloud and therefore I cannot upload it to the iPhone.

    Does that make sense?

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance.
