how does 6 months on a double entry work? You go to immigration in bangkok after the first 60 days is about to expire, then get an extention for 30? Do they really give that I thought it was just 7 or so.. thanks
It's only 7 days for a visa on arrival. It's 30 days on a tourist visa issued at an embassy

Hello.
can i go to burma to apply for a new turrist visa (60days + 30 days) ? also need the website/phone nr to the ambassy in burma.
if i can go to burma i just get a bus.
If i have to go to loas agen. whats the best way to go ? bus ore fly ? i realy dont whant to stay on a bus like 10/12 h.
i tryd like airasia and nok air but the dont fly direct to loas ore udon thani from chang mai eny ides ?
I se that thaiairways go from chang mai to loas but its gona cost like 17.000 + 3500 visa + hotel + taxi ++++++ and when i get back i need to fly to bangkok and get a new passport thats a other 12/15k.
and also i just got 4 pages leaft in my passport is that gona be prob ? if i go to loas it the loas visa and thai visa thats 2 pages just gone and then its all the stamps.
im so tierd of this visa stuff im just tinking about packing it up and go to camboda. where i can get a 1 year visa for about 150usd.
I belive air asia still flys to KL from CM for a decent price. might cost you a bit more on accommodation bit at least you get a free visa into malaysia and don't have to waste a page in your passport.
around 7500 return it looks like.

I ended up in the hospital about a year ago needing to have my appendix removed. It happened the morning I was leaving the country and the last day my visa was valid. The next day after the operation I asked my girlfriend to go to immigration for me to get an extension. I was issued the extension but charged a 500 baht overstay. I was quite insulted by this as I was in the hospital getting an operation.
Telling about this to a friend of mine, he told me his story of what happened to him. He fell off the fourth floor of his apartment and broke his back in 3 places, almost died and was in the hospital for quite a few months. While in the hospital the first time his visa expired hospital staff sorted out his extension. the second time it expired they would not issue an extension and said he had to come to immigration on his own. He was in no shape to go, and 2 weeks later he finnally went in the back of an ambulance. When immigration saw that there was no way he would be able to make it to the border, they issued him another extension but still charged him for 2 weeks overstay.
So unless immigration has changed their policies in the last year, a doctors note wouldn't work, unless both my friend and I were just very unlucky.

How do people apply for a Thai visa if there is no embassy or consulate in their home country? I would immagine they mail it to a neibouring country with an embassy in it. I really don't know but it doesn't seem like you would be breaking any Thai law. I would think the only law you would possibly be breaking is being in another country without your passport.

You an American? Brit? If American, I wonder if you could just FedEx, DHL, UPS you passport out to a Thai consulate in the U.S. for a Non-O 12 month multiple entry visa. Alternatively, send via same means to the Thai Embassy in Mexico City?
Alternatively, where is your company's HQ? Might they be able to assist in handling your passport while it's enroute back and forth to a Thai consulate?

I am Canadian, and my company HQ is in Sharja UAE. Sending my passport sounds like a good idea if in a country other than Venezuela, but there is no way I am going to part with my passport there. Every time we get parts Fedexed to the vessel they get held up in customs for 2 to 3 months. I would probably get stranded there and it's not the most exiting or safest countries to be in.
I didn't realise the investment visa was discontinued. Seems strange considering I was just reading the blog about Gen Chatchawan trying to restore investor confidence in Thailand. It seems to me that people in similar situations as me with a decient income all coming from outside the country would be the exact kind of people they would like to have in the country and to invest in the country. Yet I am having trouble getting information on a visa that will work for me. Talked to two lawyers and both said to get a tourist visa in my home country before I come, even though I rarely go there.
Can you tell me what the requirements for the Non-O 12 month multiple entry visa are? All it seems to say here is that it has to be applied for outside South East Asia.

I work offshore and my shift has changed from 1 month on/off to 2 months on/off, so I will no longer be able to live in the country on the tourist visa on arrival as I will now be in the country for 120 out of 180 days. I am unable to apply for the 2 month tourist visa before returning home because my work is in Venezuela and I don't belive there is a Thai embassy there. I am single and under 50 so both those visas are out of the question. Is the investment visa or buisness visa possible if I have investment property in Thailand? Any advice would be appreciated, I don't want to have to waste my time off messing around with visas.
Thanks

Wondering if its gotten less laggy for you Dissolution? I have been having the same problem the last 3 weeks, (although it worked fine for 4 days last week). When I run a trace it seems to change from day to day though, sometimes missing data in the US sometimes in Bankok, somtimes both. Maxnet seems to think its not them, Blizzard thinks its not them. Im in Chiang Mai BTW. Is noone in Bangkok having problems? I really don't want to have to give up playing, if anyone having trouble has been able to fix it?

When is your school in Chiang Mai supposed to open? I know about 5 or 6 people who would like to enroll some time during this year.
