I don't remember much about what you describe, because most of it didn't happen.

The actual, real "financial crisis" for Thailand and others was from 1997 onwards. They even call it the "tom yang koong" crisis, in honour of Thailand's leading role.

Rakesh Saxena is even back on the front pages today.

Presuming that you are thinking at all, you're thinking of a different regulation that was applied  (and still is) depending on the distance of the alcohol sale from schools, and had nothing to do with hours.

If you don't know the answer to that question after 44 years of Thailand, perhaps you should step back for a while and attempt a smidgeon of education. Courses are easy to find and tuition is usually free - or maybe a bevvie at most.

That said, the law was ALWAYS enforced. But arbitrarily, depending upon the need. There's a course on that, too, if you feel the need.

This is like a Suthep whistle rally in more ways than one. "This week is the last big rally where we emerge victorious over the vicious government." Oh, did I say "this week"? Oh, I meant the next rally after this one".

Peaceful rallies without ANY adult participation are useless fluff. The question is who's going to throw the first rock or fire the first round, and THEN we're in revolution times, maybe. This rally had no housewives, no actors and singers, no politicians, no defectors from the government, no business people. A few academics watched on TV and then bloviated, giving the media the only story they have.

It's not a waste of time, but there was never a chance for the 10 demands. And there won't be until circumstances change, probably via murderous violence, again.

Come on, these two men had a sterling defence team, including a strong PR team sending out "news" and propaganda twice a day or more.

Your theory means that a team of lawyers, the Andy Hall gang, the entire foreign and local media and tens of thousands of onlookers including the men's families were totally unaware of any such offer AND refused to tell anyone about it after the trial and the death sentences.
You have a very exclusive, front-page story there Mr CorpusChristie. Too bad you have zero evidence, zero backup of your claim.

So who stopped them from telling the real story? Their lawyers? Andy Hall? The several judges? Newspaper reporters who spoke with them? What is your theory of why they went through three court levels and spent years on death row, but still refused to tell anyone including their families "the real story"?

Too true, partly.

Also true is that you cannot slander anyone or any establishment in a ThaiVisa post. You might have been thinking of "libel and defamation" and your fingers slipped and you mistakenly and misleadingly wrote "slander". But your point about libel is definitely worth consideration and defamation can stitch you up worse.

Call or contact the just-completed Masterchef Thailand people (Facebook/masterchefthailand for starters). I think maybe half a dozen of their final 16 are looking for an opportunity, almost all of them are young, in their teens of 20s, and a couple or three of them are from the South.

Wrong. The 20 million  (actually  20.95 million) baht is ONLY for the airplane charter (including eggs Benedict, caviar and other simple Thai  food.) It does not include, say, hotels in Hawaii or per-diem pocket money to eat $1 hamburgers at McDonald's.
