  1. For many years that I have lived here , Jomtien Beach was a quieter family neighbourhood with many Thai's and permanent farang residents. Recently with the overdevelopment of newer hotels and short term rentals, the nightlife has gotten out of control. Fireworks are set off on the beach nightly (not on special ocassions) until 2:00 and 3:00 in the morning. Children and family residents need their sleep without the sounds of a war zone in the background .

If you want to party all night with loud noise , go to one of the famous party islands.

The police in Jomtien need to step up and enforce the laws like this example in the story above.

  2. My sympathies to the families of those who died in the explosion.

Fireworks are shot off at all hours of the night EVERY night  on Jomtien Beach ,

even though it is NOT any special day on the calendar.

A couple of tourists get their jollies and manage to create the effect of a WAR ZONE

with bombs waking up thousands of nearby resident,  into the wee hours of the night EVERY night.

It is totally unnecessary to set off explosive noise makers late at night

in order for a small few to have fun on their holidays

at the expense of the sleep and sanity of thousands of nearby denizen.

POLICE - please effect some law and order , and bring a halt to this insanity.

Fast Forward *5 minutes* & * 12 minutes*  to see & hear what I'm talking about

-- this is going on EVERY night, not just New Years Eve

  3. PLEASE try to get your facts straight before publishing falsehoods.

According to the National Library of Medicine:

Introduction: Cannabis has been historically classified as a hallucinogen. However, subjective cannabis effects do not typically include hallucinogen-like effects. Empirical reports of hallucinogen-like effects produced by cannabis in controlled settings, particularly among healthy research volunteers, are rare and have mostly occurred after administration of purified Δ-9 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) rather than whole plant cannabis.
