  1. Forget the mexican food, slide up to Kanchanburi to the excellant INDIAN restaurant on the road that leds up to the bridge, if its still there the little Indian dude in there can cook up a real good feed. I cant remember the name of it but its near one of the 7elevens on that road....THAT Kinda narrows it down :o

  2. I have absolutely no doubt that theres more to this story than what first meets the eye........typical really.

I wouldnt get too worked up about critising thai police & incidents like this, i use to work for one of the worlds most technically advanced police forces in the world and once observed a police officer remove his firearm from its holster and point it at another officer who had mistakenly taken the first officers raincoat. Despite all the Psycological Evaluations & some of the finest weapons training available there will always be those very derranged people. Interestingly that officer was later promoted and is still 'patrolling' the streets.

As for counselling Astral, lets just say most police forces around the world are too busy chasing their own tails whilst their senior commanders are too busy patting each other on the backs & concentrating their efforts into promotion to worry about the real welfare of the officers in the coal-face.

Anyway, theres nothing like being a armchair critic, is there?

  3. Forgot to mention in my last post, apparently a 25% deposit on a new car will avoid you requiring a garantor signing for you, they prefer lending to people with jobs, but some original paperwork about your US pension may cut it.

Insurance starts out somewhat expensive but lessens each year providing you dont wipe too many people out. (No different to your insurance back home). They won't consider your NO CLAIM BONUS back home, because THIS IS THAILAND (TIT).

Has your wife thought about selling her home and repurchasing somewhere a bit more central which may remove the need to spend money on a car, remember they need maintance too .

No one here likes to see some like you even in a harder situation. Have you considered the US Economy and the very real danger of your US Dollar being worth less in the future, despite the most recent trend.

  4. The Mazda and Ford 0% interest is for Government Employees only (written in fine print in thai at the bottom of some of the ads).

Mazda interest for the rest of us is 3.5%, toyotas 3%, having driven fords half my life I wouldnt drive another if it was given to me.

I hope you have at least bail insurance for the motorcycle, might save you spending time in the clink when you cant come up with bail insurance after you run your motorcycle into the side of the local police chiefs mercedes.

I wish you all the best in your retirement, sounds as if you've been smashed by some F.U.F.M.G.W.(Filthy Ugly Farang Money Grabbing Woman) in the past, I dont think you need any advice about WOMEN!

    Enjoy your retirement. :-)

  5. Chaps, I think alot of people here could benifit with frequent visits to a psychologist or perhaps some clinic that offers a bit of 'electronic treatment'. I was trying to decide which one of the above listed posts was most amusing and I think it comes down to a close one here, the one about the thai policeman putting down the rabid falang was a perla but I think the one where somebody here, i can't be bothered to go back through the posts, but somebody actually suggested we should wait for some 'proper reporting' before we start making judgement on this incident. Thanks for the entertainment :o
