  1. 'Your request is being processed. Please wait for SMS in your inbox.' I'm still waiting for an SMS an hour later! "What did they say when you called them to ask?" - That's my last resort.
  2. Once upon a time I used a DTAC prepaid SIM for the primary purpose of making and receiving calls and SMS. I restricted my usage of the Internet by using only local Wi-Fi connections. I was able to make use of DTAC's self-service numbers in order to inhibit my phone from connecting to the Internet whilst I was roaming around the Kingdom. At the there were two separate numbers to deactivate and activate the Internet, which no longer appear to exist! Does anyone know if this is still possible following the merger between TRUE and DTAC? The reason I ask is that I have recently noticed my prepaid phone balance draining markedly!
  3. If a red UK passport expires in October 2025 and one were to apply for a nice new blue UK passport in July, 2025, and assuming it arrives in the next few weeks ... does the new passport include the extra couple of months still remaining on the old one or not?
  4. Am I also correct in my understanding that the British Embassy in Bangkok or their representatives no longer provide passport authentication certificates?
  5. Excuse me if this is the wrong thread. Nevertheless, has anyone recently transferred their visa stamp(s) from an expired passport to an renewed passport? Apart from the following information, is there anything else I need when I visit the immigration office at CW:- New passport Old passport Copy of old passport Copy of current 90-Day renewal slip (just in case) The last time I went through this procedure I had previously procured a letter from the British embassy authenticating my new passport. However, I don't believe they issue such a document any longer. Thanks!
  6. Please confirm that one is permitted to retain their expired passport when the replacement is issued. The last time I renewed was in 2015, and as I recall the office staff in a building near to BTS Nana clipped my old passport at the time I applied for a new one, and then once I picked up the new, my old one was retained.
  7. I began experiencing the very same issue reported above a few weeks ago in Bangkok. It started with the Daily Mail's website and then extended to a number of others, and can only be circumvented, in my case, by using a VPN. It only very recently occurred to me that the cause of the problem is my AIS Fibre internet connection. Before I attempt to contact the nice people at AIS, has anyone else encountered such situation and/or can offer a solution other than using a VPN?
  8. RE: Renewing a British Passport (with no changes) : Supporting Documents: "Name and address and/or residency evidence" I last renewed my passport in Bangkok with relative ease, and the time has come to repeat the exercise. I am unable to recall what evidence I provided ten years ago showing my name and address in Thailand. Will either or both of the following suffice: : Thai bank Statement : Thai driving licence
  9. extended my 12-month visa at CW, bangkok for the umpteenth time last december. used the 90-day online yesterday, as usual. application rejected! an email informs me to ... "Please contact the nearest Immigration Office in person immediately." do i need to return to CM or is there another office in central BKK that i can present to? thx.
  10. my 90-day reporting is due next week and i usually receive an email reminder from immigration inviting me to report, about two weeks beforehand. however, i received NO such email notification this time ... thankfully i was able to apply via the online system this morning...
