  1. There's plenty of these devices in MBK in that price range...

EDIT: Sorry, for some reason I thought I saw your location as BKK, but now I see you don't mention where you are. So - where are you?

I'm in America. There difficult to find here.

  2. Hi,

My wife is learning English and wants an electronic dictionary to help her. I found this one THAI-ENGLISH-THAI - CD-1 HANDHELD Digital Talking at http://www.languageteacher.com/50-5.html.

Has anybody tried this or can recommend one for about the same price $100. Nothing fancy. Just a non-talking dictionary with a large vocabulary. I called the website and a Russian dude answered. I just don't trust them Russians.

  3. Thaiair.com shows me the below rate for the nonstop. Even the budget carriers these days for a 1 stop flight are more than 29,000 (with taxes)

    Travellers Flights Taxes

    1 adult(s) x (55,700.00 + 9,465.00) = 65,165.00 THB

total for all travellers 65,165.00 THB

Is your price for a round trip. I just want a one way and I got 29780 baht total (including taxes). She's never flown on a plane before and wants a nonstop flight. I should just buy her a one way ticket on Eva Air for 20,970 baht ($675), but then she may get lost. This is a lot of trouble and I expect there to be much more trouble in future. The things we guys do for girls.

  4. Actually you should be able to buy an eticket and use a printer to print it out.

However, the ticket price is not 29,870 baht. Throw is some taxes, fuel charges, fees and other nonsense and it will be more like around 45K give or take a few K.

I checked the website and the cost of a one way ticket from BKK to LAX is 24550 + 5250 (taxes) = 29,780 baht total. I can't buy an eticket because it clearly says that "if an eticket is purchased the credit card that is used to buy the eticket must be shown when checking in at the airport".

  5. My fiancee in Thailand finally got her I-129F (fiancee) visa. She has never flown on an airplane before. She wants a nonstop flight from Bangkok to Los Angeles. The only non-stop I know of is Thai Airways. The cost on the website is 29780 baht. Can I buy the ticket on the website for her using my credit card, and if so, where does she pick up the paper ticket? Or, should I send her 30000 baht and have her buy the ticket? Or should I go see a travel agent? The easiest option (I think) is to just buy it on the website. But is it possible for me to buy a ticket on the Thai Airways website using my credit card, for another person, and where would she pick up the paper ticket (she lives in a village up north)?

    Thanks

  6. I'm not in Thailand, but I would like it. Can I buy it online or in America somewhere?

Just take the best picture from the internet and save it to a CD or flash drive, etc.

Then take it to any photo developing shop and they'll print you any size you want.

    Thanks, I'll do it.

  7. How far of a walk is it from Manhattan hotel to Nana plaza? What about from Manhattan hotel to Soi Cowboy? And from Manhattan to the beer garden? Is it a safe walk at 2:00am after having 6 beers?

    thanks

  8. Are you by chance from California? :o

    TH

You are right. I was born in California (The San Fernando Valley) and spent the first 30 years of my life there. In California, I'd expect all documents to be in English (not Spanish), in Thailand I'd expect all documents to be in Thai, and on Mars I'd expect all documents to be in Martian. Thanks for all your help. These forums are great for exchanging information and ideas.

  9. It's good to know my fiancee is not lying to me. I just found it hard to believe that the embassy would send everything in English. They are in Thailand and they are sending all this important information to Thais in English. It wouldn't be so hard for them to send everything in Thai and it would make it a lot easier on us.

I paid $170 for the fiancee visa application fee here in the USA. What about other fees?

Non immigrant visa application processing fee is $131 (it used to be $100).

    Medical exam ????

    Fingerprinting fees ????

Any other fees I should know about?

    Thanks a lot.

  10. I live in the USA. I applied for a fiancee visa (I-129F) about 6 months ago so that my Thai fiancee can come to America. I got a letter a while back stating that my approved I-129F has been forwarded to the Embassy in Bangkok. It also said that my fiancee will soon receive a packet in the mail with instructions on how to apply for the fiancee visa. MY QUESTION, will this packet she receives be in Thai or English? I'm asking because my fiancee received this packet and she said it was in English and there were about 20 pages and these all need to be translated at 300 baht a page and, of course, she wants me to send her the money for the translation fees. Is she lying to me to get more money. I would assume this packet should be in Thai. Please help, I would like to know if she is a liar and loves money more then me.
