    Dog

Depends on what size of poodle you want. I bought a mini in Buriram town last year. He is so black that we can't see him in our garden when it is dark.

He is very good company and he has both me and my wife under full control.

We bought him at a clinic on Romburi Road near the CAT-office.

Are you sure that Kap Choeng Immigration allow 90 days report by mail ??

I ask as a freind of mine live in Surin for the past +3 years, and he be told they don´t do it by mail.

He did hes 90 days report 2 week ago where he ask them again, and was told again, that they don´t allow it.

Only want to ask and hear, so i can tell him about this.

    Tia.

Yes I am sure. I asked them last time I made my extension in May. They gave me a printed note with their address, telephone numer and e-mail address.

I think that the forum member Khwaibah who lives close to the KapChoeng office knows better.

Anyhow I will try to go there at the end of this week and try to sort it out. I will keep you informed of the outcome.

  2. Late July this year I sent my 90-days report by mail (for the first time) to KCI. It was sent in good time before the report date on August 12 which is a public holiday.

A few days after the report date I got my envelope that should be used for the confirmation slip back. The envelope was closed and sent from there on August 5.

The envelope was empty with no slip and no information if anything had been wrong. My wife telephoned them 2-3 times but we never get any real explanation.

Anybody else here on the forum who have had the same experience ?

  3. The last 3 years I have been astonished to see that all lorries transporting sugar cane to the Sugar Plant in Khu Mueang are very orderly without any overrloading and overhang as before and as described by the OP. I don't know why but it is a fact. Maybe Mr. Newin ChidChob don't like to drive his big motorbike over all spill from the sugar cane transports. smile.png Myself I enjoy it very much.

  4. In Buriram town you have an eye clinic at Thani Road not far away from the Bamboo Bar direction to the bus station. I guess it is the same doctor as the one at Buriram Hospital and at Buriram Private Hospital. He is OK and speaks some English. His price for a cataract replacement is 20000 bath (thai and farang).

In Korat there is an eye clinic at St. Mary Hospital. About the same price.

  5. There is a big nightmarket (7 days) on the road to Saraburi close to the Bangkok Bank. They have a big pet market there. Maybe it is this you have heard about. You might also get advice where you can find a breeder if they don't have what you are looking for.

  6. I have used the eyeclinic next to Siam Commercial Bank on Thani Road in Buriram for cataract surgery on both eyes during the last year. Very good job, no pain whatsoever. 20000 bath for each eye and I was able to drive on my own back to my home (85 km) almost immediately after the operation.

The clinic has fully up to date equipment and the hygienic arrangements are good.

Don't forget that cataract is a very common condition when you are getting old. You don't need the most advanced hospitals for that.

In Isaan there are a lot of people with cataracts and other ailments to their eyes and the doctor at the Buriram eyeclinic seems to have a lot of work to do.

You could first let the doctor examine your eyes and then decide if you can trust him or not.

  7. Sorry I was a little too fast ! The clinic on Rombury Road is not at the end of that road but halfway between the clocktower and Jira Road. Go south about 150 metres from Bamboo Bar. The clinic is on the right hand side 30-50 metres before you come to Phitak Road.

  8. There is a female dentist with a clinic at the end of Rombury Road (I don't remember her name). The clinic is on the right hand side of the road if you come from the clock tower. She speaks good English but have very odd opening hours most days (17-19 hrs on Monday-Friday) Saturday and Sunday is better. Myself I go to the dental clinic at St. Marys hospital in Korat. The dentists and the rest of the staff speak English. Some of them very good. The dental works are very good.

  9. Not so good news.

Will there be any option to stay with the immigration office in Dan Kwian ? For us who live in the northernmost part of Buriram (Napho district) it is about 50 km longer to drive to Kap Chong and the road is much worse.sad.png

  10. The OP asked if the Korat immigrationoffice is still in Dan Kwian. The answer is yes it is.

He also asked if someome has a map which shows the location. Google Map should be sufficient.

If from Korat take route 224 south direction Chok Chai. The entrance road to the pottery village is on your left hand and is flanked by two giant urns. You can't miss them.

If from Chok Chai ake the same route north direction Korat. After you have passed the road to Korat Zoo you will soon see the entrance road to the pottery village on your right hand side.

    Have a good trip :)

  11. You better ask the internetprovider 3BB what they can do in your village. They have lately installed new cables all over Buriram and many other places in Isaan. It might be those cables you have seen.

They have their office in Buriram next to TT&T on InJantraNarong Road (off Thani Road) and they also have a selling point in BigC.

  12. On Thanee Road just north of the busstation is a big computer store. They are very well sorted and have most of what you need. At BigC they sell computers and computer equipment within the BigC proper. There are a number of small computer stores around in the complex too. Some of them are rather good.

    Good luck !

  13. Why don't you look for a local craftsman who can make the furniture to your own specifications. They are often cheaper and give you much better quality than the stalls along the roads.

post-53941-085947000 1283136512_thumb.jp Here I can have a nice nap in the afternoon before that I move

post-53941-025483700 1283136476_thumb.jp to here to drink my evening beer. Alone or with some friends.

I paid about 12000 bath for all of it.

  14. Choc Chai Immigration Office phone number is 044492904

May be you can use the faxnumber but I guess the mobilenumbers may be more convenient.

    Immigration Office

    1/8 Moo 13

    Decha Udom Road

    Tambon Chok Chai

    Amphoe Chok Chai

    Nakhon Ratchasima 30190

    Fax: 044 492 903-4

I was there this Monday. Very good and friendly service in spite of all people coming after the long holiday and all people who had been delayed because of the vulcano on Iceland. :)

  15. On the Hilton side of the Hua-Hin beach there are lots of coral boulders in the water outside and when the tide is up there is not much left of the beach. It is not a very pleasant place to spend a day. As a whole the Hua-Hin beach is not very friendly to visitors. The Cha-Am beach is much better. Easier access to the beach and many more places to sit.

  16. Where in Buriram will you go ?

You will always have to go via Bangkok.

Khon Kaen has 3 daily flights from Bangkok. Serving northern part of Buriram very well.

Nok Air has 2 flights per week to Satuk (Buriram). :)

  17. This one is the real tomte. He is not very nice if you don't feed him properly. He stayed with us in Buriram this year without making any noise.

The one who came to Kalasin is a renegade who ran off to the US a long time ago.

In my family we ignore him. We understand that he has to make a lot of merit every Christmas.

Happy New Year to all of us here in Isaan and everywhere else.

  18. My wifes latest grandchild is a boy who is all Thai and he was given the same name as a very important person i my family. They named him after my son who is all Swedish. They did not consult me beforehand. The boy was given the name Christian which you easily shorten to Chris or whatever you like. :D:D

Good luck with the child and many happy years. My son is now 39 years old and we are still friends. :):D

  19. …I would have to say this place is way out nowhere, a little blue double shophouse in the sticks…

Would you be so kind as to look at this map and tell me if my placemark is pointing to the correct building for the immigration office?

    http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&i...01eab7f9c08c469

There are two buildings with blue roofs to the East of a petrol station and I am not sure in which of these two buildings the immigration office is.

    --

    Maestro

I don't think it is any of the houses with blue roofs. Rather the first of the two rowhouses with gray roofs just before the dirtroad going south into the bush.

I was there last Friday and I knew I was too far to the West when I came to that dirtroad. I took the small dirtlane parallell to the main road back and immediately saw the black sign announcing that here is the NorthEastern Immigration Office.

Look for the house with the sign and a heap of cars parked in front !

Don't forget to bring your own pen !

  20. And would you still be so happy to drive not 15 minutes but 3 hours, thats right 3 hours to do a 90 day report. And then 3 hours to get home possibly on the same day but the next day if they need to keep your documents overnight?

I have to get up early to take the boat over to Samui to do my 90 day reporting. It usually ends up being at least half a day for me. What with boat trips, taxi rides etc. I figure hey, it gets me off the island, get a bit of shopping in. Make a day of it.

I've never had to show any evidence of an address tho.

Would have been nice to meet you in Kap Choeng in the middle of nowhere after 2 1/2 hours drive. After 10 minutes the same way back. Make a day of it please !
