  2. A friend of mine suffered an accident on his motorbile by another foreigner who was also on his mbike. Whoever caused the accident was drunk, without a driver license and without a mbike insurance. What are the consequences for him? Thanks

Yes, you can use a valid SSO card instead of insurance.

SSO cards are still being issued if you apply for them. They cost 10 baht and take about 2 months to be issued.

Alternatively there is an online version of the card which works well for most people.

If i am not employed, can apply for the SSO card?

  4. Friend’s flight from Manchester to Phuket with Qatar didn’t take off on Thursday and they were put on a different flight yesterday. She needs wheelchair assistance and Qatar haven’t changed this over. She’s just arrived at Doha and the wheelchair was not there for her. That is now sorted (as she collapsed ) but do you know any contacts in a Phuket airport who can make sure the wheelchair is there for her? She had a brain injury as a child. She is very tired and this journey has been an absolute nightmare for her. Thank you for the help. Appreciate.

The reason could be as simple as a website designer/writer who didn't do his homework in regards to knowing his country's geography.

Another reason could be the role of Udon Thani's airport as opposed to overland travel via Nong Khai.

And UT airport is not here as well:

By air – Direct international flights to Don Mueang, Suvarnabhumi, Phuket, Krabi, Samui, Chiang Mai, U-Tapao, and Hat Yai (new) international airports, or transit domestically via dedicated flights.

Udon Thani province has no border with Laos, so the only way you can travel from/to Laos is by air.

Correct, so why they put Udon thani as a land border with Nong Khai? This I don't understand. Thank you

  7. I was reading the new entry rules on the TAT website and it's says:

By land – Via border checkpoints in Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Songkhla, and Satun (new).

Udon Thani has a border with Laos? As they wrote it, seems Nong Khai and Udon Thani have two different borders. Thank you.
