  1. In Pattaya there is a colorblind test, using a wall chart, yet NO vision test whatsoever. I am colorblind and have failed a few times, but finally passed by asking someone standing behind me to say the color when the testor pointed to the small colored dots. The first time the guy was saying the colors so loud, that the guy giving the test must have assumed I was naming the colors. LOL!!! Went back a year later for the 5 year license, failed, had to come back a week later, asked for assitence for somebody behind me and passed with "flying colors". What a joke!

  2. The Non Immigrant O expires 1 year from date of issue, 90 days per entry, if you arrive in the country/go to the boarder on the 364th day after issue you get 90 more days, which gives you a total of nearly 15 months. So in your case I am not certain what expires on July 23rd, if it is the visa, just go to the boarder and get 90 more days OR if you are already past the one year from issue and your last 90 days is running out on July 23rd, you can go to the border and get 15 day tourist visa at land border or 30 day tourist visa at airport.

    Does this help you????

I see nothing in the OP indicating that the poster has a multi entry visa.

It doesn't matter whether they have a single or multiple entry Non Imm O. If they have a single entry which expires on Jul. 23rd, they can go to a land border and get 15 day tourist visa. Just means they "shouldn't" volunteer between entering on the tourist visa and Jul. 30th. One of the points I was trying to make is that not everybody is clear on the fact that if you do have a multiple entry Non Imm O you can get 90 MORE days on the last day of validity. In other words your ability to stay in the country doesn't expire with the visa itself but expires 90 days AFTER your last valid ENTRY. I enter on the 364th day and stretch mine to 15 months.

It does matter whether the OP has a single or multiple entry visa. You didn't distinguish between single/multiple entry visas in your advice and just stated that his visa expired one year from date of issue, which is probably not true in this case. If someone with little knowledge of visas read your post they could very easily be lead to believe that they would get 90 days on even on a single entry Non Immigrant visa by leaving any time within the first year, which could lead them to make the wrong decision.

If you had prefaced your post with "If you have a multiple entry Non Immigrant visa..." it would have been more helpful. Without that it could very well be more confusing to the OP than helpful as the conditions you mention as if they were general only apply to multi entry visas (which it does not sound like the OP has).

I am not trying to nit-pick here, but when trying to advice about visas and extensions it's very important to be clear and precise. We may feel that something is implied, but people with little prior knowledge about the subject will seldom see it that way.

Yes I could have been more clear, but I could written a book as well. He could have been more clear as well, could have said single or multuiple entry and what exactally was expiring on the 23rd, either the visa or his 90 days from entry/last entry. He stated "I am currently on a non-O visa which expires Jul 23" kinda sounds like to me it is the visa itself, it which case he doesn't need an extention but a border run.... Also in my original reply I said "if your last 90 days is running out on July 23rd, you can go to the border and get 15 day tourist visa". I was working with limited info and can't read minds. I gave valid options for whether the 90 day entry was expiring OR the visa was expiring on the 23rd.

    How about this?

He needs 7 days and can get that at the border.

  5. The Pattaya Sports Club softball group is always looking for new players and welcomes everybody regardless of age, skill level, experience or time away from the game. We play slow pitch recreational pick ups games every Sunday at 12 noon and finish about 3PM, show up a bit early to warm up, and get your name on the lineup. We have some spare gloves and all the other equipment needed to play. We charge 40bt to play which covers field maintenance, bats and balls, ice and all the free water you can drink, other beverages are available at reasonable prices, spectators always welcome as well. So come on out and give it a try!

To find the softball field, go south on Sukumvit, 800 meters past Theppasit Road (that is the intersection by the Outlet Mall), turn left off of Sukumvit onto soi 87, go 4.3 Km, turn left on soi 15, after 600 meters the softball field is on the left.

  7. Run off per day is not the issue, the highest tides (appox 6:30- 8 AM the last few days) cause the water coming down river to slow down and build up on top of the water backed up by the highest of the high tides. Low tides don't cause the water flow over the embankments.

One fact has been overlooked and never pointed out:

At spring tide periods (now) the daily HIGH tides are higher than normal, but the daily LOW tides are also LOWER!

At neap tide periods (next week) the daily HIGH tides are lower, but the LOW tides are Higher!

It always evens out, the actual run - off per day might not differ all that much. A very important fact.

This also applies to the seasonal high waters... Although it's not much use now, the yearly low tides of April are 6 months away.

  8. that's what we call a big flop .... I remember when they launched it .... I told myself there is nothing in Thailand to attract wealthy and rich people .... :whistling:

You are an idiot if you don't think billionarie corporate CEO types don't LOVE a country where factory workers will line up for jobs that pay less than US$1/hour, with ZERO benefits, and should you be using some dangerous chemicals, the costs to ensure nobody raise a stink here is less than you pay for a golf lesson back home.

  9. Actually his mother is HALF Thai, 1/4 Chinese and 1/4 Dutch.... Father is Native American, Chinese and Afro AMerican....

Kultida (née Punsawad), originally from Thailand, is of mixed Thai, Chinese, and Dutch ancestry. This makes Woods himself half Asian (one-quarter Chinese and one-quarter Thai), one-quarter African American, one-eighth Native American, and one-eighth Dutch.[

Didn't know his mother is 100% Thai. That is a pretty strong connection to Thailand.

  10. As I said before it was said Thai Visa .com last year the free visa's where only going to be avialable till this March.Pity I'm coming back the end of march early April Damm always a bridesmaid never a bride.

Step to the altar, your next to be married, get a double entry on March 4th!! (or even a triple that is offered in some locations) Should have at least 6 months to use before it expires.

  11. Yesterday in Bangkok I twice used a zebra crossing; one of the newer ones with traffic lights. When the lights changed some of the traffic did not even bother to stop, in fact one black Vios increased its speed past an already dangerous velocity to beat me attempting to cross the road, and in doing so almost hit me.

Every time I use these crossings I am extra careful as Thai drivers have little or no regard for the pedestrian.

even worse; when I stopped for a zebra crossing to let a group of people cross the road, the car behind started hunking... Seriously disturbed by this rude and aggressive attitude I stepped out of my car but the Thai guy behind me swirled around my vehicle, gave me the middle finger and sped away almost hitting a young lady...

Do I have to check the Thai traffic regulations again regarding pedestrain crossings in Bangkok because I believe there is something that I don't know or don't understand and which must be basically different from other countries ?! :D:D:)

YES what you don't understand is that youi get out of your car to instruct a Thai an on how to drive in his country your asking for a broken nose or worse.... keep it up and you will soon understand

  12. "The tape records widths of between 49 and 56 millimetres"

I first thought that scale is diameter, but after looking on our caliper I doubt that. Thai men would be monster.

Than I took the size /3.14: 56/3.14=17.8 mm that looks too small.

    What mistake did I made???

The mistake is the condom size is the measured width of the condom while on a flat surface, so that would be 1/2 circumference of the condom itself. The paper tool is not measuring penis size but only determining which condom size will best fit the penis in question.

  13. One would come to think that after so many years and after the billions of baht that are made and spent in that city that this problem would have been tackled years ago.....

Maybe this is their way of going after the 'high-end tourists' by make it the Venice of the Orient......

    exactly my thoughts too ....

while it must be difficult to avoid any flooding, it never ceases to amaze me that the money they make here

(given the number of police checkpoints that check for helmets, driving licenses and insurance for example)

doesn't suffice to finally finish the work on Thappraya Road (where still accidents happen on a daily basis due

to people losing control over their motorbikes on the sand or falling in one of the huge potholes covering it)

or to at least fill up these HUGE potholes on 2nd road between Pratumnak and Pattaya Tai.

I am just waiting until the first victim who run into an accident caused by these obstacles files a lawsuit

against the authorities ... since it seems no one of them gives a sh*t about it.

"file a lawsuit against the authorites...." Did you get off the plane yesterday or the day before yesterday? Hey by the way do you wannt to buy a beer bar?

  14. These documentaries are just a hyped up mainly excauated load of nonsense.

Take a look on Utube at the uncut interviews and scenes. It`s obvious that most of it is semi staged, plus the bar fights and street yob sagas, you'll find these in any British towns after the pub and club animal chunking out times. Also the story about the young girl facing drug charges and her loser boyfriend. I was hoping she would have gone down for a least a year as an example to those who think Thailand is a soft touch.

That JJ who during an interview admitted that he is not a full Thai, but half Dutch, is wallowing in all the fame and is always guaranteed to put on a good show in front of the cameras.

It`s all done for gaining high viewer ratings, profit and entertainment at the expense of the Thais, damaging the already badly hit tourist industries and Thailand's image around the world.

I am sure that for the Thais and the ex-pats that helped create and produce this rubbish are looking at a very grim future career wise in Thailand and perhaps even deportation for the Farang police who participated in this without official approval.

This IS NOT a bunch on nonsense!!! This a HUGE scam in Pattaya as well. My friend is a Foreign Police Officer in Pattaya (not Tourist Police) and he sees the exact same case several times a week. The police take a cut from the "damages" recovered from the renters of jet skis that "damage" them, all my friend can do is tell them to complain to offices in BKK. Typical charges for damage are 50,000Bt which usually gets reduced 30,000Bt once the people throw a fit, with the police getting 1/3rd.

Stand up for the tourist in this situation (as my friend did when he first started) and you'll find out as he did you are SERIOUSLY risking your life on your motorbike drive home.

  15. I've been in Thailand over 1 year now with tourist visas. I get double entry in the USA, each one is for 60 days, then get 30 day extention in Thailand so that makes 6 months. Can go home and do again or go Vietnam, etc and they will give you single entry for 60 days and then can get 30 day extention. As long as you fly in I am pretty sure you won't ever have a problem. What IS limited is the boarder runs by land, which is 3 per entry visa (not 3 per year which often quoted!). Example: get a 60 day, 30 extention in Thailand, then can make 3 boarder runs, which makes 6 months, then you have to leave.

I wouldn't bother with the hassle of any other visa besides tourist visa etc.

  16. I am a firm supporter of PAD and the protest....

It has always been a peaceful protest, in hopes of stopping further corruption and theft of the country to benefit a few at the top.

My wife bears the scars of the May 92 protest, when another corrupt government did the same thing to the people that were peacefully assembled. Many were killed and wounded.

The most peaceful outcome would be for word from on High to come down for Samak to find life elsewhere. I thought it would after his visit to Hua Hin last week.

RIGHT ON!!! I can't believe how many of the farangs posting on here have so little respect for the brave protesters who are standing up for a fair share of the pie, standing up to these elite few who steal from the common man. Does anybody remember the cival rights movement in America and MLK Jr. ???

  17. I wonder what % of these protesters, rely on these pi$ed off delayed or cancelled tourists for their main source of income??

    choppy

Not quite true! Their main income is the 500 baht per day they receive from their monkey masters :o

Try 200 baht for a 12 hour day of labor, no health care, vacation pay, no pension to retire in a tropical paradise, etc. while Taksin and others in power steal BILLIONS of baht and do everything in their power to keep the poor powerless. We farangs HAVE what we have, because those before us in the lower classes of our countries fought for justice and equal distribution of wealth, fought corruption, stode up to those that oppressed them.
