This is part of Thai culture concerning the lesser of two evils, so to speak. Its based on the need for Thai students to go to school in places where there is lack of transport or the distance to schools is far. See it as an incentive to go to school and teaching resposibility of looking after a motorcyle ... smile. As to the helmet part of your comment, it is not possible to fine  +/- 13yr old without a license. Like it or not this is the way it is and always remember Thailand is for Thais.  Similar to me you are just a guest. 

I think you have to read the full article linked to Pattaya News before making a comment. IMHO the words "strange circumstances" is an understatement. Not sure what the relevance of the statement that the owner was staying with her two student nephews visiting Thailand has to the death of the Krygystani woman. The female owner mentioned that the she gave the Krygystani woman one of her rooms as a favor to her ex-girlfriend. Begs the question if whether the owner, ex-girlfriend and Krygystani woman are lesbians. Jealous lovers? Had to throw that one in to add to the intrigue (smile).

Found dead clutching human hair. Looks like a fight took place before she allegedly fell off the balcony, Me thinks homicide involving drugs. Looking at her rough face complexion, it looks like she is no stranger to drugs. Suspects not co-operative. No real suprise, since when have drug addicts been co-operative.

My wife is also taking an ATK test every day and is still clear. She is running around like a blue arrzzed fly looking after our son and me and keeping me on site just in case I am infected and share it with the big village. As if they need my contribution.

Celebrating Songkran you always increase the risk of catching Covid, It's part of life and something you have to accept. Covid is here to stay. No point  in getting hysterical and running around like chicken with it's head chopped off.

23,660 travellers is an absolute joke just like the government flip-flop  on the Test and Go.  23,660 will do little to help struggling tourist related businesses across Thailand.

I agree that the punishment doesn't fit the crime but I still hate people who go on holiday and feel they have the right to do anything without consideration of others. It reminds me of a group of young Russians who use to regularly buy booze at the 7-11, take over a vancant hair saloon, get boozed up, shouting and playing loud music up to 4 am. Eventullay it came to end.  If the victim had indeed been in Thailand for 3 years he would know how weak the laws are for playing loud music late at nigt (3am) and took full advantage of the situation. I simply don't like these self-centred individuals.

So what does this mean in layman's terms when covid gets reclassified as an endemic? Does this mean we get back to normal life? Does this mean less nighlife restrictions? Does this mean less travel requirements? I think this article would be more informative if they explained what happens to our lives when Covid gets reclassifies as endemic. Very frustrating.

I am so bored with the situation. Why bother trying to control a virus that is uncontrollable. In my opinion governemnts around the world should let Omicron do it's thing and let us get on with our lives. Many of the people who land up in hospital have only themselves to blame for making bad life choices. Overeating, too much sugar in their diets (diabetes), drinking excessive alcohol, drugs, etc, Their poblem not mine.  There is a small minority that have been dealt some bad cards in life but that should not mean the vast majority of healthy people being locked up. As to elderly group, which I belong to, I do not feel they have the right to deny the young people their youth. Elderly people have to accept that they are nearing the end of their life lease and stop making demands on healthy young people.

I travel for fun and this is not fun! I will not travel until all restrictions are removed. Worrying about what the flip-flop Thai governement is going to do is far too stressful. The Thai government cannot be trusted to make a good decision. Caviat emptor ... "let the trveller beware".

On a more serious thought the comment that covid cases are declining is highy suspect. A lot my friends have caught covid and not reported. No one, Thais included, want to get banged up in hospital jail.
