  1. The new venue at Regent's School was chosen as Diana was unavailable this year. Regent's has better parking, grass and facilities. For those who don't have transport or don't want to take their car/bike out to Regent's, there will be a shuttle bus service leaving from the Father Ray Foundation on Sukhumvit Road all day. For more details please see our website care4kids dot info

We also have new activities this year along with the usual 20+ children's game stalls, food and drink, other merchandise and a full stage show all day.

We also need used books wink.png

If you have any questions please contact us through our website.

  2. Just to clear a few things up:

    * The fair was NEVER cancelled and we will find out who told you to go home Raro.

    * The fairground is set up on the Saturday which takes around 12 hours to do with all the stalls, electrics, stage, sound system etc.

    * Jesters Care for Kids have to pay for the set up come rain or shine - we can't afford to pay for the set up again for it to rain again. Therefore the fair unfortunately cannot be re-scheduled.

    * We appreciate people were literally unable to make it to the fairground and therefore not many stallholders turned up or fair-goers.

    * The underprivileged kids were there from the beginning and had a fantastic time. They were fed, watered, played games, sang and danced.

    * The electricity was turned off on the field for safety reasons so stallholders that needed power wouldn't of been able to trade.

With regards to the website. We know it is not working properly but this is due to personnel problems and we are hoping to be up and running very soon. In the meantime our Facebook page is being constantly updated and also had updates on the fair day confirmed no cancellation. http://www.facebook....erscare.forkids

With regards to management. We are a volunteer committee who put in a lot of time and effort into organising our events. We always try to cover every eventuality but this one beat us.

We have had a lot of support from the local community who understand why we couldn't cancel and why we can't reschedule, and they are donating in different ways. At the end of the day it wasn't successful but we can't dwell on it and are looking forward to our next events on the 14th & 24th September.

Please email through Facebook or vicechairperson at care4kids.info if you have any further comments or would like to support us by attending our other events or donating.

Granted being a volunteer committee with limited resources. I still have to agree with other posters that this was handled poorly.

This tread has been running for close to 2 months, with information about the fair. Why not have someone update the tread?

You mention Facebook, not everyone has an account there, (and some wouldn't even want to be caught dead with one).

So that might not be a viable solution, as well as this is the first time Facebook has been mentioned in this tread.

It was very difficult to handle especially when you are at the fairground, unfortunately Thai Visa isn't in the forefront of your mind.

With regards to FB it was set up when the website went down to keep people up to date and it is not our only long term solution, our website will be up and running soon.

  4. Is there any chance of seeing a menu? Will you deliver to the Darkside?

I only hope what drove down other great places in the past won't happen here:

    - change the chef

    - price hike

    - improve the gross margin through reducing quantity and quality of food

...and they should get that sign flying high above the soi, so that it can be seen from soi Buakhow

    Hi,

My name is Ian and I am the owner of the China Garden, dont worry our chef Moon (Hong Kong / English) will be with us for the long term (min 2 years) and we have no intention of cutting any corners in our pursuit of offering Pattaya the most authentic Western Style Chinese food.

I hope many of you come down and sample our food and I look forward seeing you.

    Warm Regards,

    Ian

  5. Jesters Care for Kids need books for their book stall at the fair this year. All proceeds go to needy children on the Eastern Seaboard. They can be dropped off at Jamesons Irish Pub or can be collected from your home. PM me if you need further details.

    Thanks

    LL

  6. Jack is the latest resident, 1 and half years old half rotweiler and maybe retreiver. has all his jabs and neutered, owner gone back to home country and well just dumped him. we picked him last week, lovely friendly dog

Gorgeous dog, may have to make a visit myself as we are looking for a new member of the family.

  7. Hi guys/gals

I will be coming down to Koh Phangan at the end of February with my two sisters and need to know the best place/ beach to stay. We will be coming just before the Full Moon period but don't want to go to the party so planning on leaving that day (Will hotels/resorts allow this?). Is there anywhere with a decent nightlife outside of Haad Rin for 3 girls in their 20's? We have a budget of 4,000 baht/night and would like a nice beach resort.

    Thanks in advance.

    LL :)

  8. Yes, you have to go from 2nd Floor to 4th Floor to check-in BUT you head back into the main airport through security, down stairs/ramp towards the gates, turn left or right depending on your gate. Can't remember if they screen your bags again but it is straight forward. Don't always take what the AOT as gospel.
