Probably the most ridiculous heading I have seen on Thaivisa. Chicog, please come out of hiding and explain how using a broomstick putter is cheating. Whilst the story is not yours the heading is... We await your response . . .

Another great day at the Masters . . . How good it was to see that TOSSER Poulter miss the cut... Looks like being a tight finish with the winner coming from those that can put their approach near the pin and hold the one putt . . .

Many thanks for the info. My wife (Thai) is now coming with me so we have decided to find a hotel close to the bus station and catch the bus the following morning to Krabi Town. Staying with a mate in Ao Nang who will pick us up from there.

I would appreciated some assistance . . .
I fly into Phuket at 9.05pm. By the time I clear imm. & customs it will be 9.45pm. I am heading to Krabi and have 3 questions.
1. Has the last bus to Krabi gone by 10.00pm
2. Where is the bus station located to allow me to get the bus the next morning.
3. Could you suggest a cheap hotel to stay either near the airport or near the bus station.
thanks in advance

Just went back and had a look at my diary for 2008. I booked a 20 foot container from AGS World Transport in Fremantle. I had the container at my home for 3 days and packed it myself (with the help of friends). At completion the container was picked up and transported to Fremantle and shipped to Bangkok. Total cost at Australian end was $2,865. After being cleared through customs in Bangkok the container was then transported to my house in Chaeng Wattana. Total cost Thailand end was $635 (19,000 baht). Insurance was going to cost me about $850 which would have covered me for loss of container. As I packed it myself I could not get insurance for damaged goods. I took the risk and did not insure. Everything arrived without a scratch. . . . . . Remember this was in 2008.

A standard 3 bedroom will be a 20 foot container. Cheaper if you pack it yourself. I did it in 2008 from Perth to Bangkok and cost me $2,500 without insurance. All I did was hire the container. If your wife is Thai and returning home you should get away with paying any taxes although they will find something to get a few thousand baht from you. We paid 2,000 baht for something that I cannot remember. Don't take stuff you don't really need. If you have a removalist do it you would be now looking at around $8, 000 -$10,000. Costs at the other end will depend on where you are moving to in Thailand.

I have often read that many expats feel that the Thais do not want them here in Thailand. Has anyone every been told by a Thai to leave Thailand and to go back to where you come from ? I am sure at times you can feel unwanted here however I would like to know if you have been told as much...

And I know what her reply will be . . .

Serves himself right . . . Tell him to show some respect for the country he is visiting . . . Or better still - tell him to not bother coming back . . .
