  1. Thanks Bojo, yeah in Oz they use side or rear swing lifts which makes it a lot easier. Looks like I am in for some physical hard labour. I may ask the security guards if they wish to earn some cash . . .

  2. When I left Aust. to move to Bangkok the 20 foot container was dropped via a rear lift at my front door and left for 4 days while I packed it. When it arrived at our house in Bangkok the driver waited while I climbed up into the container and unloaded the goods with the help of family. When the time comes this year for us to return to Aust. can I assume that again the driver will wait while I load everything UP into the container ? Do they not have side or rear lifts ?

  3. O-K wise up everyone. This has been entertaining if nothing else. This poor soul has very tragically departed this world. May he rest in more peace then he found on earth. He had a troubled mind. There is absolutley no doubt that he took his own life. He cannot live with this however we must. End of story . . . May his family and loved one's celebrate his life and not his death . . . Now let this poor soul sleep . . .

  4. 1. You need to first complete appropriate documentation seeking permission from customs.

    2. If granted you then need to produce an invoice showing true cost of goods upon arrival.

    3. You will have to pay near 200% excise and duty.

    4. It will end up costing you around 3/4 times the cost of the wine.

Just been through the exercise as we needed to bring in "12 SAMPLE" bottles from W.A.

I ended up telling customs to keep it and enjoy the drink . . . . . .

  5. If anyone gets in a blue taxi today and it displays that the driver speaks english ask what Bastian should do. Maybe even take note of the number 19590. I am sure some of the drivers would like to help.

  6. Beer like everything else is down to personal taste. I crave for the beer I used to drink in Oz. (Pure Blonde) however have now finally taken to Leo because there is something in Chang and Singa that is not right. Others will swear by these beers and that is great, but not for me . . .

  7. A nice bunch of replies, really insightful comments. :o

Gravelrash, any folk that thought Abhisit would be different from the old scumbag lying cheating corrupt politicians were being outragously optimistic, misguided by their naivity.

Having said that I still cling on to a tiny thread of hope that he might be a catalyst for change, but realistically he's just the same old same old, as this and many other reports have pointed out.

  8. They will find something to charge you duty for. Went through this last year after shippng container full of furniture and personal items to Thailand in my (Thai) wifes name. Firstly they wanted to charge us for Xmas decorations. We explanied what they were and then they wanted to charge us for two push bikes. After tellling them that they were our bikes and not new they then moved onto something else. In the end we said OK whatever let us out of here and paid 2,000 baht required. So be prepared to fork out around 2,000 baht which really is not a lot it is just the pain you have to go through. . .
