Lots and lots of governments are scared of the costs tourists who end up needing treatment for COVID whilst on holiday.
This new requirement which mentions COVID 19 is to protect the Thai state. Other countries have started the same for example UAE.
I already had another company health insurance, but that was only for $80k and didn’t mention COVIDS on the certificate.
so I’ve now got a COVID-19 cover $100k, for 12 months, my advice is to contact them get a quote and then decide if its worth it.
"contact them, get a quote".. Contact who ?

Or just put up with it. That's what I would have done. I wouldn't have cared. It's a different world in Thailand so why you all think we should behave in the same stupid way you would have in England. Eg. Complained, Moaned, Shouted etc... which gets you nowhere.
I have no idea why you all think it makes a difference

Hi Joseph, Got there a 7:30 and still quite a few places available.
When I arrived back in late afternoon, the cars had been double parked, hand brake off stuff. Thanks for your input, this saved me a lot of concerns and time.
Nb. Nobody else responded, only you, but your single response was enough !

Thanks Joseph, what time would I need to be there and if I miss it are there other possibilities ?
I don't usually use that station but I travel from the next one, Hua Mark, and that is usually full up and double parked by 8.30am or so.
Maybe someone who uses that station could be more precise but you may be able to get a space at the far end from the station (a few hundred metres away) or park along the main frontage road, although I wouldn't personally like to do that.
Again thanks, so 7:30 - 8:00am would generally be fine, I'll want to be there this coming Monday Morning, what are the usual car park charges. I presume just a few baht per day.

I have to agree with the Ol' Bill. I never managed to get anything there.
I am now trying to organise a piss-up in a brewery. No luck there either.

How many days do you get crossing from Nong khai into Laos, turn round and come back same day ? No visa. Uk passport

If coming to Thailand via land crossing border (Friendship Bridge) from Laos into Nong Khai, NO visa, how many days is one given to stay in Thailand ? 15 or 30 days ?
What are the rules now ?

I was driving in the middle of the day from Korat to Khon Kaen, not a bad stretch of road (for the Oven).
I was waved through a checkpoint, only to be hastily stopped when he saw I was caucasian.
He was very polite... "you diving fast". "no I wasn't" "yes I saw you fast".
Truthfully repling "No I NEVER drive fast and I am a very good driver, I NEVER drive fast"
He just waved me though.
It really does p**s me off and just one more reason why I don't live in the Oven anymore.

I have taken a pedal bicycle, Udon - Nong Khai - Vientianne a few times have to leave at 4am to get there before that hot yellow thing comes up.
No problems except for a few people wondering ... "WHY ?"
-
My advice is simple. Don't do it !

Good plan for just one year then get the hell out. Nice experience for your family, do not make into your life though.
$1500 enough !

I'm having some walls sausages this morning, but then, of course, I am not in the Oven and very happy not to be either.

There's this geezer in Pattaya, used to work for refuse disposal as a driver, let's ask him !
Or should we ask that other bloke, the ex-postal worker
Why do you feel TV readers are qualified to answer this type of question ? Just because they spend baht ?
Let's ignore the currency experts and ask someone who is in the Oven after getting divorced and is now cheating the benefits system after he injured himself while operating some machinery on his 2pm-10pm shift down the mill.
It beggars belief.

If I'm hungry I eat something, what's all this scribble I'm reading here about ?

Go for it, sounds good to me

I think we may have found the 2015 most stupid post winner. It's got to be a firm favourite.
What a ridiculous post !!
What makes it so good ?.., well apart from the severe stupidy of the comment, it has nothing to do with Thailand in the slightest...... and isn't this a Thai Visa website ??
Well done, you may just have got the number one spot and it's only May !
