Thanks everyone for responding and leaving some great ideas!
So far I've posted a bit about my project on some film/creative forums and on my blog. jobsdb.com is a great idea, I've used them before and was over whelmed with the responses (although this was for a different role). I'm also going to get a friend to write on pantip.com and sanook.com to see if I can find anyone interested there.
@meithai - I'm sending you a PM now

Hi all,
I have a small project that requires a cameraman for a couple of months... maybe a little longer depending on how it plans out.
Ideally I'm looking for someone that has experience in both filming and editing, so a fresh uni grad might fit the deal as I need to keep costs low.
If you were in my shoes, where would you start looking? Are there any publications/web sites? Clubs? Is it worth contacting a few universities?
Thanks in advance!

The person you are dealing with will have a better impression of you if you are dressed nice like anywhere. However it won't affect the decision of what visa services you require if you have the right paperwork to hand.
I've visited Suan Plu lot's of times and always wear shorts with t-shirt/shirt... never a problem. They don't give a monkeys how you are dressed... a smile is all that's needed

Last night was a lot of fun... Thanks all

Last night I went to MK... I like MK as you always know what you're going to get, is cheap and the red pork is so yummy!
What did you have for dinner last night? Go anyone nice? Cook at home?

Yeap.. all paper work is ready (I have renewed my business visa 3 times over 3 years) but am wondering where the best place to go?
I normally head down to Singapore, do a bit of shopping with my girlfriend etc. Singapore can be done with a one night stay.
Saying that, work is super busy right now and wanted to know if anyone know's of anywhere I can get the visa processed in one day?
Failing that, what is Vientaine like at issuing Business visa's?
Thanks.

Apply now. You will get a reply in around 5 days. The Visa is valid from when you apply and will last for 6 months.
If you can meet all the requirements you will be ok.
Thanks, that's what I was looking for

Yes, I have a work permit.
The company that handles my visa "stuff" have said that I can do it almost anywhere outside of Thailand.
-
To be honest I'm not that bothered about all the paper work involved... For my grandparents to get to meet my girlfriend before it's to late is worth the hassle
We both have good paying jobs and I can comfortably provide what the embassy is requesting so I'm not predicting to many problems

With xmas approaching, I've decided to take my girlfriend back to the UK for a short break over the xmas holidays.
When do you recommend applying for a tourist visa? How many days in advance does the UK embassy issue visa's to Thai nationals?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

I need to renew my B visa at the end of this month and haven't got a lot of time on my hands (work) so I'm looking for suggestions on where I can renew my B visa that has the speediest times (in terms of travel and visa handling) and also options that arn't going to cost an arm an a leg getting/staying there
Thanks!

I stay in the Grand Hyatt whenever I visit Sing and is very nice. Not sure of the rates though.
Another good hotel is the Hilton (has a lovely pool on the roof).

Thanks for the replies.
I already have a route to drum up donations - online, so all is needed in a photo and some video footage of the event. I will be using my bath at home, so no problems there.
I guess the next thing to do is approach a guy selling them and ask if he can sort me out a few big bags of live ones - Can't wait to see his face when I ask!
-
Hi all,
I have a great chairty idea and needs live bugs, the sort you see that are deep fried street sellers sell.
I need enough to fill half a bathtub - so were talking sacks of them.
I'm based in Bangkok so around this area would be ideal.
If anyone knows where I can buy them in bulk, or where I could start to hunt them down - please let me know.
Many thanks.

I want the home office to give them passports and hope they pump some of that 200+million into the UK economy.

Does anyone know where I can get a ASUS Eee PC 1000H in Bangkok?
I'm thinking Pantip is a good bet but I hate that place and if I can minimize the amount of time I'm there, all the better!
Thanks!

Thanks singa. That is what I had read.

I need to lay off some of my staff as I’m moving the business to Singapore and I’m unclear what the legalities of doing so are… hoping someone where can help!
Staff has been working for the company for 8 months.
Do I need to give them notice? If so, how much notice is required?
What amount of severance pay is due? This site says 30 days, however a friend of mine tells me 60 days is due. Any help with clarifying this would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Many thanks for clearing that up Joeinsurin.

Have the DAAD been convicted on buying votes in the December elections?
My friend tells me they have - I was under the impression that they haven't stood trail yet (is there a trial coming up?).
Any links to news sources would be great.
Thanks in advance!

I find it quite amusing that those that didn't make it are blaming the venue. It's a pub for crying out loud... it's what you make of it isn't it?
Should the next meet up be in the Oriental Hotel for some cocktails?
8 out of 116 that voted showed up, it was fun, but would have been a lot better with more peps. Shame on the other 108 that voted

Likewise, good to meet those that made it.
George / thaivisa - Many thanks for the beer loas
