I have known 2 friends who rented there about 5 years ago and were very happy with management and the place.

I heard today from his daughter, that Frank Moore AKA PeaceBlondie died at home this past weekend. Cremation is being planned but I have no other information.

So tourists got vaccinated so as to significantly reduce their risk of hospitalization and death, but have to buy expensive insurance that covers Covid only. I think they will look elsewhere.

regarding buying meds at TRC in Bangkok, they will accept any prescription from a Thai doctor (and I have read they will accept from foreign doctors as well.) Their prices are the best. Also unless they have changed, the Chiang Mai TRC does testing but does not sell meds.

Again, Colin is well and repatriation is being finalized. I wish I could say more, but I have to respect his privacy. The family is paying the bills and the doctors say he is fit to fly. The Mirror article does not depict his present health accurately. Colin will soon be home.

Colin is well and the repatriation is being finalized. All embassies are communicating and Colin is approved for air travel. The Mirror article doesn't accurately depict his current state of health.

Dear LivinLOS,
Please read for comprehension. I said I obtained the full insurance benefit, i.e. 30,000 baht. Now return to your alcoholic beverage.

An friend of mine has been in hospital for 3 weeks with a broken leg and complications. When he rented the motorcycle at an agency that has many branches in the city, the contract had 2 phone numbers, neither of which were active. The nurses at the hospital tried to call the agency to get insurance info to no avail. I tracked down the owner and was given 2 new phone numbers, which I used while sitting in his office and the phone rang. The nurses tried these new phone numbers but they were never answered. Finally I went back to ask for insurance info in person, and asked why he never answers his phone. He said he was in Bangkok. I asked if his phone works in Bangkok, mine does. Then he gave me the copy of the motorcycle registration and the copy of the owner of the motorcycle...his daughter. The motorcycle registration was not for the same bike as the one my friend rented. The contract had no license number for the motorcycle rented, just an agency number. It seems that our friend the motorcycle agency owner is using his family's motorcycles to claim insurance for those few tourists that can track him down. Otherwise they get on their planes and go home, and they don't receive the up to 30,000 baht that they are entitled to from the basic, compulsory motorcycle insurance that every motorbike is required to have by law.
If you or someone you know can't get through to your motorcycle agency for insurance info, contact me. I know where this guy is, and he knows I mean business.
Get the benefits you are entitled to. My assistance is without cost.
(By the way, I got the full insurance benefit for my friend today. Went directly to the insurance agency and then the hospital, and the eClaim was credited to his bill.)

For about 6 months last year, air asia had non-stop flights from Chiang Mai to Ubon. I booked some far in advance, and then they changed the schedule, so I had to fly via Don Mueang. But air asia does a decent job now of dealing with "through/connecting" passengers, including having staff with signboards to greet you at Don Mueang and assist you to make your connection. I stayed at the Ratchathani hotel, which is decent. There is a 7-11 very close to the hotsl, so you can buy snacks at any hour.
-
7-11 has decent coffee, including iced coffee. When I have to catch an early morning flight I usually hit 7-11
-
I find that if I go about 2:00-2:30, I can often get processed in 30-45 minutes. But don't go Monday or Friday. If there is a long delay, I usually go to 7-11 for a snack. Then I quickly return.

I bought a quite pleasant new moobaan house in CM for 1.8M last year.your 10 mil is a pittance number to be called a project, in fact laughable, these days 5 mil may buy u a comfortable second hand moobaan house , in a nice part of c/mai, and thats maybe
a nice early evening to all:D
I bought an old wooden house in San Sai with many fruit trees last year for 1.2 million baht. The closest 7-11 is about 1 km away.

7-11 has a decent selection of inexpensive wines.

It sometimes seems to me that if the Thailand Meteorological Department and weather.com agree there will be a storm, there can be no storm.

I agree, their phlebotomists are good, but to be fair, blood donation typically uses a larger bore needle, and if there is only minimal leakage, you end up with a bruise because of the length of time the needle is in place.
Just sayin' :-)

It is a very clean place, friendly people. By the way, PSA was only 300 bht 6 months ago. They recently bumped up prices. If you spend around 500 bht, try to negotiate a discount. They recently quickly offered one on a set of tests I got that were 500 baht. Knocked it down to 400. Worth a try.

Address is 20 Rageng St (ถ. ระแกง), a small street just south of the southeast corner of the moat. Their phone is 053-449-142, and they speak some English, so I would try to get near there, and call for help if you can't find them. Closed Sundays, mornings are a good time because they are slow until the blood samples roll in from their hospital customers.
