  1. Been there twice, they can't help. Even went to Customs here in Chiang Mai, also, no help. They sent me to the post office, who says they can't find it because it is not showing in the Thai system yet, but USPS has confirmed Customs has it.

    Incredibly frustrating.

How do you speed up something already en-route?

Pop a pill, have a beer, cut the grass, walk the dog, reflect on the middle east situation or even a 'Donald Trump White House'. You go so far as to say something nice to the wife for a reaction!

Sorry to be direct on topic, but given it is "time sensitive" it is what it is now and expediencies this time are merely lessons for next time. Relax or take a xanax. Good luck in the result.

  2. Information poor and cash rich, re-calibrate your thinking ... Rent.

With the kind of flexibility you have, I would not begin to think about buying anywhere. Especially tie-ing myself down to it in Thailand knowing what i know now. If you want to enjoy this phase, park your money in a secure non property asset, and forget it until something itches.

  3. Back in July 2008 I renewed my yearly license, again.

In anticipation of its expiration, i recently dug it out and read it expires in November 2018. It was validated for 10 years five months and two days. Seems odd ~ ?!

I am not good with this stuff but what gives since everyone is talking about five years only. Did i get lucky and do it in a window of opp or has there been a mistake?

  4. "Ours is not to reason Why? ..."

Every Immi Office seems to operate like a Fiefdom - but so does every Thai Embassy/Consulate. TiT.

Immigration can ask for additional unsporting documents and such.

But they should not be allowed to go outside the written rules in the police order. Which is what they have done in this case.

According to his opening statement, he does not have the housebook/his child's registration papers, only a "copy" and therefore his documents are "incomplete".

Possibly. the immigration officials would have gotten-over his origin demeanor issues and the funds misunderstanding otherwise.

Have i read this incorrectly or the thread just taken a different path?

  5. "7.birth certificate my daughter,I showed him also documents from Chonburi family court and our home Amper that I'm the father of my daughter by thai law.8.house book where my daughter is registred no8 I could not provide because in the past a copy of my daughters house papers were enough. So he told me my documents are incomplete and he can't issue me an extension of stay based on I support my thai daughter, but he can give me 60 days extension for visiting my daughter."

So is your problem the housebook/registration papers [no. 8 above] or the funds and how they were lodged?

It sounds like the captaino gave you a hard time and then another crack at get it done and found a different problem..yes?.

Anyhow, I do know that office well and they handle a lot of workers from the surrounding industrial areas and can be very tricky. It seems like if you regroup you will get a solution, but will need to be cap in hand, ie a bit humble receiving big boss' s grace. Get a bottle of johnny black and go back with the papers, [complete docs] and speak like a father to another father in low tones.

  6. Hi guys (and girls!)

Have just finished reading Garro's book/experiences at Wat Thamkrabot. Congratulations on publishing the work. It flows well and a fascinating read. You could sell tea to a chinaman from the convictions you leave the reader. I knew nothing about it although my girlfriend had been babbling something about it for months. She grew up in Lopburi and has had a brother who had been redeem there.

It appears that I might need to head down the same road. It wasnt that i finally listened to her but a series of cascading events. She's a smart girl huh. In fact the recount Garro gives leading up to Thamkrabot is a little to close to home. Eerie.

I have been clean for a month to date and this is the longest period for 15-17 year. I cannot really recall a juncture. Anyhow, i have never really taken action before. I went to one AA session some 12 years ago but never went back.

The question I have is because I seem to have done the chemical detox already, is Thamkrabot for me? I have virtually incarcerated myself this past month to get this far and have left the appartment only a hand full of times. I need to start normalisng things again but know that things are still a bit tricky. I have the time and preparedness to go but am still hestitant i suppose.

If this is not new terriotory for some one I would appreciate any comment either by board or for the time being by email.

    Thanking you in advance.
