No Way
We only honk AFTER we implement the 'talking on mobile phone whilst drunk with no lights on' system...
-
I am beginnning to think some of these crazy posts are thai trained farang drivers.
honking horn-what crap.
1/ newbies that dont know
2/ car/motorbike that the horn is broke
3/ card driver with music on
4/
car driver with hands free mobile
anybody else know more.
so you die if you dont know how a farang thinks in kho chang, sounds a little bit dangerous to me.no driving expertise will allow for something that stupid.
It's obvious you guys (except wilko) can't grasp the concept. The proof is in the pudding. Why don't you come here and check it out?
Hey, it works for us

You were probably driving so slowly that the other driver lost patience and carried out this dangerous maneuver.
There IS plenty you can do to minimise your own risk when driving anywhere in Thailand and that is to learn to read the road AND other users.....don't expect them to drive like they do in your home country....they don't.
the US rate is nothing to be proud of either
He didn't honk his horn, flash his lights or anything else. I certainly was not going too slow either. It was on an extremely tight hair pin bend and regardless of speed it is not a spot to use to overtake, even in an emergency. I fail to see how you can read the road when you can't see it ahead of you. Even if you have used the road 1000 times it doesn't give you the ability to see around corners. Just because it's the norm to drive this way in Thailand does not make it right or safe.
You totally missed my point. No, you can't ususally see around corners. But you can "HEAR" around them...hence the use of horns. There are rarely any accidents on the twisty bits between White Sands and Klong Son because we use this method. Very handy when gettin 'round the cement trucks

Maybe...but I'll bet money you didn't hear him honk his horn. He wasn't honkin' at you, he was waiting for a reply honk which would tell him there was another vehicle approaching from the other direction. The locals have it wired and when you hear 'em get on their horns...JOIN IN!!!
Of course this doesn't excuse their dangerous driving behavior

Really??? Well there goes the neighborhood if we don't get rid of those fukkin hippies...ROFLMAO
Dude I've been livin' here 6 years and ain't seen no naked white chicks swimmin' down south

After spending about 2 hours last weekend visiting pretty much every garden shop on Sukhumvit from Central Road southward I can answer in a resounding NO! The lady at the very last shop said Lotus carried seedling starter trays but by then I was too tired and burned-out to drive over there...they might very well have them.
If you are looking for a Ph tester for soil...forget about it, don't waste yer money. Those toys are too inaccurate to rely on. Most swimming pool shops sell Ph kits that are good enough to test the runoff of soil samples.
There is a cool Thai gentleman named Pat that has a hydrofarm (Happy Farmer) on the road to Jomtien. He is a nice guy and can help ya out if you are having probs finding anything. But he's not at his operation very often...

I find its amazing that......
1) the Thai ADMITTED he couldn't "make the roof" and...
2) you let him continue when he didn't know how

Thanks mate. Yeah thats Lisa who has been here (Koh Chang) for years. She was busy so I took the dog to Chantaburi Smartpet Animal Hospital - Dr. Worapong - #039 323 595. Behind the Shell station on Sukhumvit (Highway 3) in Chantaburi. Big, clean and professional...I recommend it. Dog is fine...

I put this question in the Pets forum but had no response. Does anyone know of a good dog doctor in Chantaburi or Trat? Perhaps with an X-ray unit? Any contact # or name would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't care whatsoever. My company flies me 1st class wherever I go. Let them eat cake

Thanks lopburi3. Is the 21 days or more a hard and fast rule??? By my count I have 15 days until the one-year extension expires 7th Feb. Can a 60-day extension be granted? This would take me right up to the time the 800K matures.

Can't find a definite answer to this.
I currently have a 30 day Visa On Arrival, aka Visa Exempt Stamp, which runs out a week or so before my birthday. Can I borderrun for another VOA and convert this to a non-im O retirement in Thailand on my birthday, or do I have to travel to a consulate (Penang is closest) to get a Tourist Visa, which I believe can be converted by immigration?
Seems nobody answered THIS question^^^. Can a VOA or 2 month tourist visa be converted to a Non-immigrant O so to obtain the retirement visa???
My retirement visa (my 3rd consecutive) needs renewing on 7th Feb but the 800,000 baht requirement will not mature until 5th April. So I have a 2-month "dead" period...hence the question...

Hey meemiathai
where the hel_l do get off by bringing Michael Fay into this discussion??? Care to answer that??? I think not!!!
Just another example of "Thais Love Thais" avoiding the issue.
This punk is typical of Thai greed and self-centeredness. ME First and the hel_l with anyone else, even my parents. SHAMEFUL but thats where the Thais are at these days.

350 gram packs for 25 baht. I just made an order for 25 kilos and got a substantial price break.
The guy to talk to is Khun Yai -- 081 823 6514. Speaks good english.
