  1. In both traditional parliamentary and presidential systems there is a check and balance between all the elements of government (ie., executive, legislative, and judicial branches). But in Thailand there can never be a check and balance because of a power bloc that exists outside such check and balance. That entity by virtue of its independent armed forces can and does decide at any time without respect to the electoral representation on what check and balance should apply to any part of the government.

    So in an Orwellian sense of irony, The NLA President is correct - there is nothing truly that can cause conflict in whatever the final constitution delivers. The NCPO will maintain its absolute power over the nation. The NCPO is The Collective and like it or not, all Thais will belong to it.

  2. How exactly does he know what direction Thailand will take after the perfectly free and fair elections that will of course take place in early 2016? Surely he has no idea who will win and what their policies will be...

    He plans to stay the Great Leader till the next coup... Thats how he knows

    Yes that is what a governemt is supposed to do. But this is a military Junta, with martial law.. they do not know what a government is supposed to do.. so this is all new to them wai2.gif

  4. Thailand continued to be "deeply fractured" yes by an illegal coup, militarty junta, military NLA, and the great leader... I wonder why... the only future for a student is to enroll in the military and be part of the illegal government, mary a rich thai women, and wait for the next coup as you go up with the ranks..
