i do one month in one month out for years never had a problem what new law is it that wants 2 mill people to go to immigration within 24 hours of arrival

hi all i have been waiting for a visa for the wife to go to the UK. started in June went to court in London Dec 1st got the news today 14th have to wait until the 23rd for the visa now i have to take my 12 year old with me to pick up wife and baby

12year old school starts up again on 4th jan mum and baby wont fly all on there own so i have to come to get them now the cost of this is £3400 as prices are now stupid. any one any ideas on how to get this cheaper!

permission for marriage from the UK embassy i am told by the Thai obador that i need a piece of paper to get married in Thailand .

can i get this from the consulate in pattaya or is it a trip to Bangkok

would this be the same for a registered partnership .

I have 20 days to sort this out before I go back to the UK.

I put this in the category of the many urban myths which float around Thailand, akin to the roving gangs in vans who kidnap victims in rural villages to steal their internal organs for sale, cell phones microwaving your brain until it explodes, etc. For some reason the urban myths seem to be a bit hot and heavier in Thailand than I experienced back in my home (western) country. Also, appears to be many more "true believers" here as well.

Strictly my opinion and from casual conversation with others, but no supporting hard facts, similar to your opening post.

Either way, mate, I'd still be cautious about letting your daughter go with the bar girls out of your sight. (Of course, depending on your daughter's age, whether you're in a big city or local village, how well you know the "girls," etc. A lot of factors here). Again, just my opinion.
