  1. Foodbyphone is horrible and is overpriced.

Chefxpress has no issue, if theres a problem u can call them they fix everything up and get you freebies.

You can enter in the comment box any item from any place.. i make them go tesco/7/11 a LOT and never have to pay extras for it they even bring the receipt which is what i pay for.

i have 9 friends using it almost daily and no complaints, clearly someoen who says anything bad against chefxpress is crazy.

  2. i have not seen those ladies, i have only lived here for 6months... my thai is pretty mediocre as i have no time to learn it now and have to wait an other 4-5months before sitting down daily with books and tapes.

I was wondering for food like fast food types. i have mcdonalds/kfc and oishi for now.. Im looking for american food(good one, like big ass burgers and ribs)/pizza(other than pizza company) and.. Burger KING. everywhere i have lived they do not deliver.. maybe i have a shot here.

why isnt anybody starting up a chefxpress/foodbyphone service in phuket?

  3. Dont think u have to be worried... most places dont even enforce it now and i have seen plenty of police officers pass by restaurants where people were smoking.. hel_l besides santika in bangkok most clubs allow smoking now.. just no ashtray

as far as 2000 baht fine.. just lol at it and pay.. just buy a beer instead of a bottle next time u go out

  4. Most people who are decent with computers NEVER pay for dvd's anyways unless they want a nice boxset, like myself i only buy the TV show boxsets or some of the great movies special edition with very very nice packaging. Why?

Cinemas overcharge you, they make a fortune and stil charge you a lot of money just to sit there for 2hours.

Dvd's are overpriced, the profit margin is sick, 6$us for a dvd would still make them a fortune and for that price i would think about not downloading or buying off the street most of them.

theres still plenty of computer newbies to give money to the companies and they still make loads off tv broadcasts.

and as far as thai dvd sellers whats wrong with it? its actualy even better than downloading cause that way u put more money into their economy but i do try to avoid it when im not too lazy to download stuff because 100baht @ sukhumvit is kind of expensive for a 15baht dvd and 60baht at pantip where even the old movies are <deleted> bad quality sucks cause you never know what u get.

As far as whining about being overcharged, goto siam ocean world.

I had to pay like 1200baht and my girlfriend had to pay 650 or something.. after that, u never want to get ripped off by thais anymore.

Everytime i take a motorbike ride, i get overcharged compared to her.. very annoying its not about the money but its lack of <deleted> respect. i put a LOT of money in this econmy and get fuc_ked over for 20baht.. thats like hitting me in the balls. they love to laugh at you after in thai with their thai friends.

  5. only read first two pages but what im gonna say is. people that dont work in canada get about 500$ a month. ID rather be dirt poor on 6000 baht here than on 500$ a month in canada. You basicly live in the same condiiton : live in a shithole in both (by my standard) but here you dont have snow on your head, you dont have to buy so many clothes, food is cheap and tasty when in canada most of that 500$ goes for food. In canada if you want to go 10mins away to get groceries u pay 4$ twice to take the bus or a lot to get taxi, here u get tuktuk or taxi for less than 2$...

Imo western countries are way more third world than thailand. The only difference is buildings look cleaner and poor people dress better except when you go to ghettos the peop^le there actualy look way more dirty than dirtpoor thais unless they comit crimes and buy those very nice looking xxxxl clothes with that money, then they look like lingling's.

Im spending about 120 000baht a month in bangkok and maybe 75 000 in phuket and i have very very small differences with 10 000baht a month thais

  6. I just received my new 2000$ laptop at my place in canada and i want it shipped to my place in phuket. I asked my relative and obviously the only way to go is through private mail since its very expensive.

They told me that post canada said it was 400$ which is outrageous since ive had small packages shipped here for 5$ by ebay

Is there any private company that offers shipping here for a decent price?

  7. I am moving to phuket with my girlfriend and were looking for medical inssurance.

She is pregnant so i know we will not be covered for the delivery(how much is that anyways?)

But for everything else and me, what is the way to go? how much should i expect to pay?

Wouldnt mind getting a thai number she could call. Im really bad with this kind of stuff

We're both in our low 20's and perfectly healthy, pregnancy is at 4months. She is thai and i am canadian

    Thank you

  8. Me and my girlfriend are moving to phuket and she is pregnant, i was wondering what is the way to go for insurance for both of us, one that would cover labour would also be nice.

She is thai. What about the kid? what would be best? i would like one that actualy pays on the spot as i had one from canada that i had to send papers too which is pretty much worthless since most of the time i have no idea what the hospital paper say.

i plan to marry her soon if that provides any privileges.

Also just on a note, we plan to rent a car with GPS(truck to be specific) to bring all our stuff to phuket from bangkok, anyone has recomendations? Only cheap car i found was on THAI-rent a car using this website's rent-a-car application. Is that the best prices around? my gf only knew about avis which is probably way overpriced.

    Thank you very much

  9. Hello, i am on a tourist visa, i just had a 30 days extentions..

I have heard a lot about the 1 year extention for non-im o.

I dont work in thailand as i work on the computer, i have a thai gf with a baby on the way. i was wondering if theres a visa for parents that allow them to extend to 1 year?
