Didn't see any recent posts on dentists in Pattaya, was hoping to find a recommendation for a good dentist that can do both implants and crowns. Thanks in advance for any insight.
I had a crown at Jomtien Soi 5 Dental clinic, Jomtien soi 5, (almost opposite Jomtien Immigration) over 2 years ago now and it is fine. It cost about 6000 baht. There is a poster on the wall advertising implants so I am sure they do them.
Was pretty painless and I go for checkups here also.

Topic solved. I contacted a Thai-American "helper", Danai, under the advice of jay1980. He helped me solve the situation, quite effectively. The culprit was located and brought to the police station, where he returned 20,000 baht in cash to me, apologized extensively and signed a written agreement in front of a police officer and 3 witnesses to return the remainder of my monies + 15% for expenses (traveling to Bangkokg, renting another motorbike, etc) on a monthly basis, returning 15,000 a month until done. He faces 5 years in jail if he fails to deliver on this agreement.
So while the matter is still pending full resolution (return of the remainder to me), I consider this thread has served its purpose.
To those who helped me, especially jay1980 who gave me Danai's contact, thank you!
Happy he was able to help work it out, originally wasn't sure if he would be able to help or not when I PM'ed with his contact details but happy your situation could be worked out, hope you can start bike shopping again soon and I recommend you view in person and maybe contract Dani to help make sure the transaction to get everything in your name smoothly, Cheers j

I first had the M5 E60 which I sold recently. The M5 M10 is more smooth and better suited for Thai roads. The engine is a 4.4l twin turbo has 600HP stock but is now tuned to 700.
Changed exhaust to 2x3” changed break disks, tires, changed all oils and it is good to go. What I like most is the superfast gear change with a torque of + 600. I didnt buy this car for it’s speed but for the “feel” and comfort.Love your M5
Unfortunately I don't have your budget but have gone a similar route in a way to get hot hatch performance and handling with a manual gearbox without spending a million baht +
Started off with a stock Mitsubishi Lancer.
Engine and gearbox swap to a JDM MIVEC engine giving about 70% power increase over the stock engine (bluebook legally updated and insurance informed) and close ratio gearbox with LSD.
Upgraded suspension with K-Sport coil overs and brakes with bigger slot vented disks and 4pots from a Subaru on the front and wheels with Original Japanese Enkei's
seats are from a Mazada RX8 and have been custom fitted to sit lower for a more sports car feel
other minor mods include a radio relocation and custom upper dash panel to discreetly mount oil pressure and oil temp gauges, a Momo steering wheel, slight upgrade to the Audio including an small sub-woofer discreetly mounted under the passenger seat.
Future mod's will include an aftermarket air intake system which will require the battery to be relocated into the boot like this one:
Apart from the non-stock wheels (only went up to 16" to keep the relatively stock look), a slightly lower than standard ride height, and a slightly louder than stock exhaust outwardly the car looks pretty stock and I intend to keep it that way, no fake wannabe Evo bodykit or rear wing thanks ???? my car will definitely stay a 'sleeper' as I want it to be a fun ride for myself, not to attract the wrong sort of attention.
If I still lived in the west where nice manual sporty drivers cars can be purchased without paying crazy amounts of tax I would never do a project like this but actually doing it has been great fun, researching the different options, going to places like the used car spares village in Bangna, talking to Thai's who race similar cars at Bira, finding shop's to do what I want to, and has motivated me to improve my Thai to talk to the mechanics, car spares shop owners, engineering shop owners etc to do what I have done so far.

cool looking bike, it caught my eye at Buriram as it was about the only bike in the commercial area I took a picture of that did not have a pretty posing next to it 5555
for me to make if feel worth having a geared bike I would want at least 250cc though

Sounds like the event was well run. I'll be going next year for sure. Only problem may be securing accommodation, so I will have to look at all options.
I asked this question in the other thread but this thread might be more appropriate. Are the grandstand tickets numbered seats, so you can arrive at anytime and get your seat, or it's simply first in gets to sit where they want?
I was in a Side-stand which was a free for everyone who had access to that side stand, just after turn 1, not sure about the seated grandstands, but the side-stand was fun, everyone was standing and cheering, the race is not long enough to need to sit down anyway 555

yes, good advise book early if you can, I only got my passes confirmed a couple of weeks before and ended up staying 90KM from the track, however it was a pleasant drive and didn't distract from the weekend.

Example: I do not wish to wait 20 minutes in a queue for a beer or a snack or 1 hour or more for a bus or taxi to get to and from the track.
very quick service in the Chang tent for a beer, no Leo though 555(50 baht) and no waiting to get a burger(60baht) or any other food in on all the CP food stands.
I drove my own car but noticed a big GRAB car tent at the entrance with a few cars with GRAB logo's on them so I think taxi's were well covered
hope that helps

I watched it on TV and it was a great race.
If there are any expats living in Buriam, or anyone who went to the race, can you offer any reports on what the city and track and event was like, over the weekend of the race. Things like queues. Difficulty with transport to the track. Track facilities. Airport or bus station issues. Price gouging. Crime. Availability of food and beverage in hospitality venues for the masses as I have never been to Buriam.
Can you say what was good and what was not so good about the track, city and facilities?
I know accommodation was pretty full in Buriam for it.
Any information or tips would be appreciated because depending on reports from people who went to the event, or people living in Buriam, I might go next year if it is on the calendar.
To the moderators. I will make the same post in the sport section to try to get the views of local expats in Buriam as well as tourists who went to the event so I hope you allow it to run in both places.

I was at the races also and had a great time. My fist time to attend a motorcycle race in Thailand was the Superbike Races in Buriram back in March and I had such a good time going to them that it convinced me to attend the MotoGP races as well. My worst fear was that it would rain on me most of the way going and coming from Pattaya but it was bright and sunny every day, not a drop of rain going or coming and it didn't rain the whole time in Buriram, very unusual for this time of year.
Here are a couple of photos from the races. The first one is from one of the motorcycle parking lots, the second is one of the sets of metal detectors that spectators had to walk through to get to the races, the Thai government wasn't taking any chances, and the last one is of one of the grandstands. I bought my tickets in advance from the Ducati dealer here in Pattaya and exchanged them at the Buriram Ducati dealer for the actual tickets as well as tee shirts and caps. This also entitled me to use Ducati parking and their refreshment stand. I also sat in the Ducati section of the grandstands so everything worked out great with Ducati which isn't always the case :).
looks like you were in the same viewing stand as me, hope you enjoyed it as much as I did ????

I was there, prices very reasonable for food and drink thanks
price list in the beer tent ???? a chicken burger only 60 baht, a hotdog 50 baht, all food by CP.
very well organized IMO, i had guest passes and a car parking pass for car park 2, light traffic with just a short queue of less than 5 minutes to get into the car park entrance, (and out again at the end of each day)my pass gave me access to one of the side stands that was easily reached riding on an Essen style farm truck they had purposed as shuttles between the main commercial area and the stands (nice of them to give the opportunity to local farmers to earn some extra money IMO), was a great friendly atmosphere in the viewing stand where I watched the race, could see the other part of the track on the Big TV in the infield, and I understand enough Thai to follow the commentary. Obviously to follow the race exactly its better to watch at home on TV but being there you get the atmosphere as well as the sense of speed you don't get watching at home.
Hope I will be able to make it again next year ????

there is an Office mate just outside Baan & Beyond (formally Homeworks) next to Big C south Pattaya
seriously though, pretty much every bigC / Lotus sells cute notebooks and stationary...Mr DIY in Tukcom has a good cheap selection also
now trying to buy just a plane notebook that does not have a cute Hello Kitty/Stitch/Dorriaman style design on it in Thailand, that is a bit harder to find 5555

Was quite "big news" a while ago.
A mate drove there last week and complained
Can't tell when it exactly started.
if it really bothers him, he could drive up Sukhumvit to just after Chonburi city then pick up bangna trad express way for 55 baht I think it is (or bounce along and dodge the big trucks doing U-turns under the express way for free 555 )

Went up after Songkran I think it was, pattaya - BKK on highway 7 now 105 baht

You (or the dealer) did the name change in Bangkok ? because its my experience that if you go to Chonburi DLT they will want you to change provinces before changing names/owner..change of province means change of number plates too, that also means 2 or more trips to the DLT.
As in the OP's case its a Thai -Thai transfer ( no need for certificate of residences)
everything may be able to be done in Bangkok and Bangkok plates kept ?
dealer handled the transfer, so I don't know TBH, I guess he had connections to do it to my preference, I am not a Thai national and provided a certificate of residences to him which I got from immigration jomtien soi 5as well as passport and visa copy. hope that helps

If you have Bangkok plates it means your car is registered in Bangkok, probably you meant that you updated your address, but this alone doesn't change where the car is registered.
nah definitely registered at my condo in Jomtien, (I can read Thai and it is my Jomtien condo address in the blue book, also had a couple of speeding tickets from the camera on Highway 7 sent to my address 555). I bought the car used so it was previously registered in BKK, as the OP's car is I guess as he mentioned it was also on BKK plates.
bought the car from a tent in BKK and it had BKK plates over 3 years ago, the dealer asked if I wanted to keep the BKK plates or change to change to Chonburi plates, my Thai/American friend recommended I kept it on BKK plates for the reason I mentioned, and have driven it on road trips to the south of Thailand Sonkhla then Phuket and to the North, Changmai and several road trips to Essan and never been asked where I was going always just waved through checkpoints, my friend has a newer car than mine on Chonburi plates and when down south or in the north occasionally has been asked where he was going, where he was from etc, not a big deal but a minor inconvenience, hence my suggestion.

Everything is done at the DLT office, you can keep original plates if you want to.
yes, my car in registered in my Jomtien condo but still on BKK plates, I suggest keeping the BKK plates because with Chonburi plates you are more likely to be stopped at roadblocks if you go for long road trips far outside of Chonburi province than if you have BKK plates which could belong to a car locally registered in any province in Thailand.
