Thanks for the link. We've got a pretty poor internet connection though so would prefer to have it on TV if it's available.

Sorry. I meant to say 'does anyone know what channel the Ashes are on this summer (and if I need to upgrade my TV package) as I need to watch England kick some Aussie butts... again ;)'

Hey guys
Does anyone know which TV channel The Ashes will be on this summer? We want to be prepared
-
Actually... I've just found this: http://verasu.com/product_detail.php?pid=751 - looks perfect!

Thanks for the links. I've checked them out and I'm not looking for a bread maker, rather just a dough mixer. I've heard that bread turns out better when baked in an oven and there's more room for error. Thanks for the links anyway guys, Verasu in particular looks good for future equipment.

Thanks guys! As soon as our power comes back I'll check those links out

Thanks for the replies guys. I saw some commercial dough mixers in Macro at the weekend but they were huge and very expensive. I'll probably go to Chaweng this weekend and see what I can find, otherwise it looks like sticking to the kneading by hand
-
Does anyone know if Home Pro sell bread mixers? I've been playing about with making my own bread recently and whilst I have made some great loaves, the kneading process does take a long time. I'm not looking for the full bread maker machine, just the machine that mixes the dough. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

Cardiff Consulate is very friendly, I would suggest either the triple entry or consider an ED visa, the ED Visa only requires 4 hrs of study per week.
Tourist Visa or ED will require border runs.
We weren't planning on working in Thailand unless there was a visa that would make it possible to stay longer if we did. Looks like we're going to go somewhere else where the rules aren't so ridiculous."2nd best time to plant a tree is today." Sent from ThaiVisa app.
We planted one almost three years ago for all the good it did. I'm sorry, I don't want a Thai boyfriend and I'm not over 50 and all the money I've spent in the country for the last two years is worth nothing. I'm not "desperate" enough to bend over backwards getting tourist visas when we can be refused entry just because a Thai immigration official is having a bad day. There are other places to live that have a similar climate. Maybe if the non o rules are changed in the future things will be different but for now I think there are better options out there.
Thanks to everyone who replied.

I would try for a triple entry tourist visa. If used properly you can get almost 270 days with just two border runs. Another option would be ED visa, but you would have to find a school, enroll and, most likely, pay in advance to get the paperwor necessary to obtain the visa.
If we went for the triple entry do you know whether we would likely be awarded another triple entry on our return back to the UK?

Thanks for your advice. I've been doing some freelance writing work on and off for years and I'd be willing to try my luck with a non B in Hull. Maybe I could start up a Thai travel website between now and then - maybe that would do me some favours? I'm just wondering whether they'd be a bit sceptical about both me and my husband applying for a non B for the same thing.
I'd rather keep away from the double entry tourist visa if I can as I've heard stories about people getting their four months + 2 one month extensions and then being told they can't return to the country.
Do you know if Hull is still the best consulate to get a visa from or if Birmingham or London would be more lenient?

Me and my husband both stayed in Thailand for two years on non immigrant O visas. We left in October last year and returned to the UK but after a winter here we want to return. Now we both have enough savings to live off in Thailand for at least another year but with the Non O rules changing we're not sure how we can return. We are both British and both under 50. If we both took on freelance writing jobs and worked online would this change things or do we need to be employed by a Thai company?

Can anyone recommend a place to stay in Laguna? I've looked online and I'm struggling to find anywhere. I am travelling with my husband, wifi is required as is somewhere that is nice. I'm either finding places like Splash Mountain which look good but no wi-fi and a closed waterpark or 88resort which look nice on the outside, have wifi but then the rooms are If anyone has any suggestions please let me know We leave a week today.

They didn't answer when I phoned - might have been because it was 3.50pm and they shut at 4 so if my parcel doesn't arrive tomorrow I will try phoning again and let you know.

Thanks I'll try that

Like I said - I Googled and the number you posted took me to CAT Telecom, not Nathon Post Office.

Hey
I'm looking for a parcel that should have been delivered to my house yesterday. Its been tracked the whole way so I know it should be on Samui somewhere. Does anyone have an up to date phone number for Nathon post office? The number I found online in 2 places is apparently CAT telecome.
Thanks
Laura

Sorry yes it is my fault and it is a netbook computer. I have ordered a new charger now and just had an email to say it is dispatched. Thanks to everyone who commented - this is a much more helpful part of the forum than others

Cheers for your replies. I've ordered one from Amazon UK after reading the Kindle thread about the speed of delivery.. I'll also check out the other options and maybe order another just incase the same problem happens again.
Thanks!

Hey
I currently live in Koh Samui and after visiting almost all of the computer stores on the island I still cannot find a laptop charger - mine is completely broken now and so I am unable to use my laptop at all. Does anyone know where I can order a laptop charger for a Packard Bell KAV60. It seems that it is only a UK laptop and with post taking up to four weeks to arrive I would rather source one in Thailand if possible. Hope someone can help.
Thanks
Laura

Hey thanks for your replies... I might look into getting another type of visa then. Mine doesn't run out until October I just want to be prepared (and not have to go back to the UK if possible).

TOT is great if you love an unreliable service

We're with TOT and have only just got back online - the internet was down for a day and a half - phoned the call centre and they said it was being fixed... not sure why it takes so long

Great stuff, thanks guys! If we go out to watch it it will most likely be in the Outback Bar in Lamai (or somewhere with more Brits haha), Bangrak is the other side of the island to us and we don't drive... I can just imagine how much a taxi would charge
