  1. You may recall Dale Henry was brutally murdered whilst having a whiskey lying in front of his television in Ranong last year. His wife, her lover and his uncle are all charged with his murder. The trial began yesterday and has been recessed until Friday. There is nothing being reported about this matter locally and it seems that early indications are the 'hitman' (the Uncle) may go free. If he goes free, they all go free. Would appreciate any media buffs pouncing onto this story to make sure the people and the system know that we DO care what happens to us.

  2. regarding hotel.. The royal princess is the best in the city area.. I think its now called @hotel or something like that now.. It is 1200 baht a night, which includes breakfast.. The natural spring spa is nice.. 3pm everyday it opens I think and the water is superb.

It is located on the way to the pier, right at the top of the main road in the city

  3. Hello All,

I am in the process of starting a shipping supply company. Can anyone direct me to a company that would be able to provide everything in the way of provisions rather than go to lots of different suppliers. Everything from fruit and vegetables to meat, kitchen cleaning supplies, plastic rubbish bins, bread, etc. Basically anything that a ship requires in the way of domestic supplies.

Any contact assistance would be appreciated.

  4. Hello All,

Would just like to pass on my sincere thanks to all those Ranong people who chipped in and helped out over the last week or so.

There has been some interesting debate over this forum since the whole business started and it has bought a lot of people together in Ranong. May Dales death be a reminder to us all that life is too short.

To all those local expats: 'take a pat on the back' for relieving some of the burden that Dale's grieving family would have endured. That's what Dale deserved.

I have heard already that Dale's send off went well and as I type this you are all having a cold one for him. I am so sad I was not able to be there but I certainly was in spirit and thought. I'll reserve my celebration of Dales life until I return to Ranong.

Once again, well done in helping send this good man off in an appropriate way.

  5. Guys,

Lets not turn our anger on the family. I think everyone is losing their way. Can we calm a little. Nobody has done anything wrong. Mary Jane and Richard are trying their best. They don't know Thailand as well as the rest of us. They are perfectly entitled to fear for their safety whether they are in danger or not. It is how 'they' feel. Our support is what is required.

This is a time for everyone to pull together, not apart. Misguided comments by some of the nutter expat foriegners should be ignored.

Go back and read the posts. Dale was a wonderful, kind man cut down way too early by a wicked witch and her henchmen.

I do oppose her family being at the funeral. Don't forget the text she sent to her uncle (that's family in my country). She sent a text message to her 'family' saying: 'you must go to the funeral and behave normally'. That is all part of the premeditation and confirmation that her 'family' was in on it. And apart from the murder, the remaining 'family' that weren't involved in pulling the trigger went around and looted his house - confirmed.

No the 'family' should not be there. Thai bad karma will catch up with them. After all that is what 'they' believe.

I apologise to Dales family in Canada for some of the stupid comments. I understand that people cannot just drop everything when these things happen. No matter how much anyone from Canada would have tried to arrange flowers it would have been almost impossible without a local contact.

Also, please don't hate Thailand or Ranong. There are some wonderful Thais and foreigners around. All countries have a bad element.

Again, RIP Dale. We won't forget.

  6. Laopo,

Yes you have picked up my frustration in my posts. I am out of Thailand at the moment and regular updates are telling me that nothing is appearing in the papers or on the television in Thailand.

As an update, I spoke to Richard (Dales brother) on the telephone shortly before he left Canada and he was in the middle of another television interview. Seems like, fortunately, Canadian press is pouncing on it, which is exactly what it needs. I just wish Thailand could do the same.

My apologies to the moderators of this forum but I am new to forums and don't understand how they work.

  7. I am very sorry 'Andiamo' in the post above. I wanted to reply to your post but somehow became imbedded in it. I wanted to add my comment about what you said and it is below

Sadly, things are being suppressed and Thai Visa is not helping. I put some email address links on my previous post (page 3 I think) urging everybody to contact The Bangkok Post.

However, Thai Visa has removed those links. That is as bad as the Canadian Embassy not helping. I can't see any legal ramifications to Thai Visa and can only think they don't want to 'rock the boat'.

  8. Firstly my sincere condolences to the Family, this is truly horrendous news and I was so shocked to read about it now.

If I am not too direct, may I advise you at this difficult, unimaginable time to maintain strong pressure on the Canadian Embassy here in Bangkok and your Canadian Foreign Ministry/MPs/Media etc to ensure that justice is served for your loved one.

Apart from the terrible tragedy and unnecessary loss of life, I am also saddened to find out that this happened and none of us were aware of it...... :o Thai Visa is the first place I read about this. I m shocked about this.

A question we should ALL be asking ourselves is WHY HAS IT NOT BEEN REPORTED in the Bangkok Post and The Nation???????

What can we do to push for coverage to the English press here? It is despicable if indeed it HAS been suppressed (see post above.....)

I understand that TAT are a recent, new sponsor for Thai Visa... Do they read the threads here? If not they should IMO.

This cold blooded murder should be circulated and syndicated to all international press to raise awareness and shame the English media here in Thailand into covering this terrible tragedy.

My kindest thoughts to Dale's family at this sad time. You are in our thoughts.

  9. Hello All,

It is no good that there is not enough media coverage of this event in Thailand, and it seems Canada also. I have just sent an email to the Bangkok Post kicking them in the <deleted> and I would like to suggest that everybody send them an email as well. We have to ensure that Dales death does not go by unnoticed. This tragedy could happen again so lets not let his death be in vain. I urge you all to copy and past the email addresses below into an email and voice your concerns of disapproval for the lack of coverage. The email addresses below are all the Editors etc. at the Bangkok Post.

Sleep peacefully Dale. You didn't die for nothing. Cheers.

  10. Hello Colleen

The two attachments contain details of the whole thing but they are in Thai. However, one of them does have a photo of the scummy crap that did it. The witch is on the left, boyfriend in the middle and uncle on the right. Photo shows them enjoying their last day of freedom for many many years. I believe there is a preliminary court hearing next week. I think Richard will be in town for that. I have not seen anything in English in the papers as yet but I am not in the country at the moment.

I hope this little bit helps.

  11. Richard and Mary,

I would like to pass on my thoughts and condolences to you both, especially in the next few days as you make your way to Ranong. I will not be in Ranong unfortunately and deeply saddened that I cannot be. This event has disturbed me greatly.

Sounds like Dales friends are getting things sorted for you and there should not be too much for you to worry about before you get there. Richard, you and I spoke on the phone the other day so you know who this is. I think you and Mary now know what people in Ranong thought of Dale. There have been some very nice, inspiring thoughts on this forum.

Please remember this is not just a 'Thailand thing'. This was the act of a disgusting, disgraceful person who comes from an even worse family.

As you have a couple of drinks toward the end of next week you will both be in my thoughts. I would truly love to meet you one day Mary. Dale did speak of you. I have met Richard before and shared a few beers and stories. Richard, you know who to contact if you need any assistance with anything. Please don't hesitate.

Cheers to Dale and his happy, great life.

  12. I don't know why I am on this site but I felt the need to after reading some of the heartless crap 'wayward thai farang nutters' come up with.

Dale Henry was a mans man. An absoulte gentleman with not a mean streak in his body. He never had a bad word to say about anybody. His heart was ten times bigger than the brainless comedians who think these forums are for sharing their tactless wit.

I new Dale in Ranong for many years. We shared many a cold beer and funny story together. He provided his wife with everything, and her family and her friends. But not enough obviously. I have just heard that the mongrel family has been to his house and taken most of what was left worth value. Their own guilt will eventualy catch up with them.

Please take a moment to consider that Dale was human, like the rest of us, he was not perfect but neither am I. What he was was loyal, honest, decent, and sadly, blinded by love. He chose Thailand as his home because he loved Thai people, their kindness, their compassion. Unfortunately, he cocked up with that bitch of a wife. He could not see through her but I could.

I have met Dales brother Richard, but I haven't met the rest of the family and I see some on this forum. I would like you all to know that Dale was happy. I had some beers with him over Christmas and the New Year. He loved his life, he enjoyed it to the fullest (his way). He had many dreams. He and I planned many schemes and scams whilst having a cold one but never went through with any of them. Most of the fun was planning them. I will be having a beer or two for Dale over the next few days.

Rest peacefully Dale. This incident will NEVER be forgotten.
