  1. I personally wouldn't resort to the contigency of having his nuts removed. It may make no difference to his behaviour and would be pretty expensive for yourself (not to mention the phsycological damage to the animal). You might aswell take him to the vets and pay to have him put down.

I think the cat would suffer less psychological damage from having his nuts removed than being put down :)

Minke, i would get his nuts off and see if he settles down.

If he doesn't i'd take him for a long drive in the basket and release him somewhere else.

  2. Rossi the happiest man on the podium, it was the first time I have been to a race to see a world champion being crowned.

Yeah it was a great day. I didn't realise they crowned him world champ... i guess that explains why the crowd kept chanting his name even though Stoner won :)

I will be back at Sepang next year for sure -- i believe it's the 20th anniversay of the track and also falls on the 10/10/10 so should be a great event.

Here's a couple of pics i took on the day.

  3. I thought a girl was really into me, but it turned out, she was just concerned I would put my back out doing squats. I was sort of embarrassed, when she came over and took the free weights from me to demonstrate technique. She told me chubby folks had to be careful. :D

    555555 :)

  4. BTW I get the feeling that True high speed packages are available only in BKK and surrounding areas.

They are also available in Pattaya -- this is the flyer i got from their office yesterday.

They told me it costs 2k to install which includes modem but you get a 1,500 baht refund when you return it. Unfortunately they won't be in my area (Pattaya Klang) for a couple more months.

  5. I bought off plan in Central 18 months ago 122 square meter corner unit for 3.5 and sold 3 week's ago for 4.3, it was on the market for 2 days and I got a deposit and now fully paid.

There are plenty of buyers out there but only if you have something a bit special for sale, many condo developments in Pattaya I wouldn't buy if they offered me a 50% discount, you need to look hard for the good ones.

Aahh so that was you? If i'm correct i think you're talking about #201 overlooking the pool? You did well on that deal. I got a call from Noy the day before you signed as i was very keen on that unit. I ended up buying 2 in Apus up the road with a 17% discount off list price. I'm hoping to flip one of them come settlement time.

  6. If 20,000 baht was not found on them such a short time later, it's possible the Indian guy made this up to try and get extra compensation. Without sounding racist, it's unlikely he would have 20,000 baht in his wallet. The 1,000 baht they took was probably his budget for the next 4 days that's why he was so pissed off.

There are some very well off Indian people make no mistake about that.

    not in Pattaya!

  8. A male thai friend was telling me about this recently and said that it is a very informal way of saying 'khun' and is a very common way to address close male friends. I believe it can also be taken as being impolite or rude if you do not know the person that well.

  9. Thanks for the info Martin, i will definitely seek out this Peri Peri Chicken place next time i'm up that way. Yes i like the idea of buying grilled chicken from a street vendor and putting Peri Peri sauce on it with a side of somtam... i like spicy :)

  10. I Am happy as a pig in poop with the True 8Mb service here is why

SpeedTest to San Francisco I am in Pattaya

You've just convinced me to sign up with True.

I was thinking about going with the new fibre optic service from Sophon but the lady told me it's still 2 weeks away for my area (this could be Thai talk for 8 months).

I am in Pattaya Klang and think i would get similar speeds to you... their office is on 3rd Rd between Klang and Nua but not sure if their cables come from the same place?

Can i ask where in Pattaya you are and if that is the Basic Pack (1,199 baht) or Premium Pack (1,400 baht) at 8Mb? At those speeds i will also have to buy some more external hard drives to save stuff onto.

I went into their office today, here is the latest flyer from them.

  11. Gee that's a shame, i thought someone would have brought the franchise over here by now.

Great idea putting your own Nando's sauce on it, i think i will also bring back 1-2 bottles next trip home and do the same.

But what are Peri Peri chicken places in Bangkok? Is it a chain similar to Nando's selling chicken with a Peri Peri sauce?

Nando's in Malaysia didn't seem that busy when i went in to the ones in Penang (Gurney Plaza) and the one near the Petaling market in KL. They also have Kenny Roger's chicken which seemed more popular and was quite good too with the gravy pepper sauce.

  12. The same as both Shell petrol stations in Pattaya. Accidentally on purpose short changing you!

Looks like times are getting harder for the indigenous people.

Thanks for the warning I'm going down that part of the world soon to visit friends.

    Cheers.

I've never had problems with the one on 2nd Rd but have also been short changed at the Pattaya Tai one about a year ago. I believe the owner has now cracked down on it after getting many complaints... there is now a big red sign on the pumps which says to check your change and make sure the pump is reset. The old guy at the Pattaya Tai one is the worst culprit.

  13. I would build some wooden decking and shopfronts, then get some canoes and open a floating market.

Combine it with a zoo and and put some crocodiles and water buffalo in (keep them in a fenced off area).

Build some ponds, add fish and make a fishing park

Build bungalows on the lakefront and rent them out

Build a lakefront go kart track

Build a paint ball outdoor course

    Rent out off road bikes

Rent out jetskis and banana boats

    Build a lakefront restaurant

    Build a lakefront shooting range.

Filter the lake water and sell it bottled as 'genuine filtered lake water'

Pump out the lake water and sell it to drought stricken areas (joke)

Just a few ideas to ponder :)

  14. I think it's FAF when foreigners get their English words mixed up :)

A Thai friend recently introduced her friend to me and said "this is Minh, she come from Sakon Nakon but she not eat dog." Minh smiled at me and shook her head at the same time.

I said "hello nice to meet you, that's cool you don't eat dogs".

Then we moved onto other topics of conversation.

Generally speaking if a Thai says hello to me i say "sawasdee khrap".
