  1. Sorted it all Rob. The marriage bit was the easy part. Spouse visa was issued 3 weeks after application. My last couple of recent questions are just preparation so I don't get caught short next time round!

    well done mate

Very strange responding to a post nearly a year old???

I was going through old posts related to visas and settlement etc etc

Trying to get as much information on the subject.

Saw the guy got his visa so said we'll done.

    Didn't look at the date.

  2. Our fess are not 95 k , the contracts are on the site how much more transparent can we be ?

    • Applicant pays visa fees
    • x rays
    • A1 Test
Once the visa is issued you pay our fees which is 800 pounds sterling if you require a tourist visa its 5 k deposit we pay all the fees and a balance of 25 k at the end. Our settlement visa fees range between 600 to 800 making us the cheapest & the only registered office in Pattaya.

    Will look again.

Apologies if I made a mistake.

  3. Another option for someone who cannot meet the criteria for a spouse visa is to go with your Thai wife to an EU country ouside of the UK and set up your base there...e.g. get a job...pay tax etc for a few months and then travel to the UK.

As a citizen of the EU it is your right to live with your wife when relocating from one EU member to another and EU law supercedes UK law.

yes this is true, but to get your wife to Germany for example she needs to get the Aufenthaltstitel from the German Embassy in Bangkok first, although it can be done another way, this is the correct way. And as most people will tell you the German Embassy is not the friendliest.

My wife has been here in Germany for about a year and am British, I was lucky and knew about this rule.

Don't like the sound of that Aufenthaltstitel!!!

    Topic: Immigration

Since 9 July 2012, applications for permission to enter/remain in the UK as the non-EEA national partner of a British citizen, refugee or person settled here have been required to demonstrate available maintenance funds equivalent to a minimum gross annual income of £18,600 (or higher in cases including non-EEA national dependent children).

The Immigration Rules specify which income sources can be used to satisfy the requirement (including income from employment, private pension or cash

My gross income for 2013/14 will be

    £27,000.00

    Minus expenses

    £ 5,000.00

    Leaving £ 22,000.00 before tax.

So on this point I'm eligible??? Aren't I???

  5. You will need to show that you have adequate accommodation in the UK. Selling your current property cause a problem.

    Tony M

i don't see how, if i was to apply for just my wife then a 1 bed owned would be ok,

but has i want to bring my children ( british ) here then a minimum of 3 beds would be required.

i'm sure the embassy would know of the kids even if they were not mentioned on the settlement application.

at the moment i'm doing the ground work.

    thanks for the info

  6. this will be my move permanently to the UK.

to start im divorced with 3 kids all in good schools in thailand, has i dont have any family in London to help me it wouldnt be easy to bring them here, i was working/living there before.

the last few years ive been in/out of thailand on a month by month basis, My now partner and i want to move to the UK for good.

me i work has self employed earning this year £ 20,000.00 before tax ( and before my allowance )

    savings of £ 10,000.00 in a bank.

a 1 bed property with 100 K mortgage but market value of 165 k i intend to sell.

also 2 cars in thailand i will sell for about 20K GBP ( soon )

My wife works in advertising earning only 20 K baht Per month and has a house in her name

thai bank value 5 Million baht ( paid no mortgage ) and a condo also about 1 Million baht in bank, all her own hard earned.

I have personally known her for 18 years but have been together for 2.5 years has a couple.

    shes 51, im 46.

I beleive the financial requirement is based on income and savings,

am i ok on that ?.

my wife used to be in London on a tourist visa ,however she did overstay, and was stopped at LHR and her fingerprints taken 6 years ago.

will this affect any application ?.

those are our main stumbling blocks.

  7. It's not a quite a simple application as such.

    Where's the link for thaivisaexpress?

    Thanks

It's actually to the right of the forum, I didn't post the link because I didn't want you to think I was pushing him or was connected, I just know that he and his team are well respected.

    But here it is http://www.thaivisa-express.com/

    thanks mate for that,

it says cost is 95 large but you pay 5 K upfront and the balance on getting the visa,

and only 5K if you dont.

trouble is they are in pattaya, i dont like going that place, lol, im in BKK.

wont be till jan at the earliest and im starting to get some stuff together,

  8. Used to be with Thai.

    Now moved to etihad.

And can say it's by far a better experience all round.

No expiring miles. And they give you miles for this and that.

Upgraded at the gate often compared to twice in 10 years.

    No more thai

  9. I earn 20K PA and will be soon applying for a spouse visa for my fiance to join me in the UK.

I want to use an agent of such and I have been looking at siamlegal.

Does anyone know if they are good or could suggest another.

If I was considering using an agent for a Settlement Visa application, I would be using an agent who specialises, and is highly experienced, in all visa applications, rather than a generic lawyer.

Thaivisaexpress, who sponsors and gives advice on this forum, is a very experienced and competent agent and comes highly recommended. He can be contacted via the link on the forum.

I personally wouldn't use an agent for a straightforward application, and I certainly wouldn't consider using a lawyer, but given the high price of the application fee it suits some.

It's not a quite a simple application as such.

    Where's the link for thaivisaexpress?

  10. Pretty frustrated at this point, but I guess I need to learn to deal with this kind BS if I'm planning to move to Thailand.

Doesn't it suck when you screw up (i.e. fail to provide all of the correct documents) and someone else is unwilling to take the blame?

    That's not fair on him.

London is pretty shitty at the moment. And they usually call you to explain that there not issuing that visa but issuing another .

Like me she told me I need another document. But wouldn't state which one .

    Even when asking her directly.

She ummed and arred then said goodbye .

That's the London embassy for you.

  11. In some parts of Thailand, even in some tourist cities, a 2.000.000 THB home rents for 5.000THB/month.....Makes sense to buy? Thailand looks over build to me with condos, mix use townhouses and houses.....and prices are too high. Prices will go down very soon.....New businesses opens and closes every month.....Tourism will be down for a while.....

    Hummmmmm....

Well I bought a nearly 2.8 mill baht house last year. I got a mortgage and in 8 months the house next door which is just finished was sold for 3,2 mill. Prices in Bangkok will go down but certainly not where I live.

    Where do you live?

  12. ^^^^^^^^^^^

I dont know, that's the reason why I asked.

I thought the blue house book (house register) would need to have my name in stating my address in Thailand.

    Obviously not.

Your name won't be in the blue book as an entry like a thai.

But it will be in there has the father of your child.

All kids have mom and dads names next to them

Ok mate, just to clear things up, I am married to a thai but Dont have any kids. I'm pretty sure my name was in the house register as living there when we did (she did) own our house. Now that we have sold our house, we rent and obviously don't have a house register anymore. My missus says she doesn't have any house register with her name in anymore.

    Hope that makes sense.

    You may have been.

Because of being married legally. Not sure

  14. Hmm, troll city in this thread! Ever think the OP and his G/F might be slightly more normal people than you're used to seeing in Thailand!

    Probably .

However a box room on sukhumvit for 20 years.

Alarm bells are ringing for me.

The OP should spend a bit more time with her here. Not splashing the cash.

Try to meet some of her friends.

    Get a better picture.

Years ago I was shagging a Chinese bird living in a room above a take away on Holloway rd.

    Her living arrangements were terrible.

Didn't think of sending her any money.
