Try calling 1555, if he is hospitalized they should be able to tell you.
I tried calling that number, but I don't speak enough thai to talk to them.
they told me to call 1644.
thanks though.

Karl Warhurst a New Zealander who lived or lives at Ratchapraprop Tower Mansion
was injured in the protests. He discharged himself from the hospital and has been missing since Sunday.
His wife and family are terribly worried. If anyone has any info on him please let me know.
His apartment was/is on the 7th floor of this condo:

Karl and his wife (who is still in New Zealand) planned on teaching in Bangkok for a year.

Ok so here is the question:
I am going to Laos next month to get a double entry 60 day visa. When I re-enter Thailand, can I get a 15 day arrival visa instead of using the 60 day visa? I'm asking because I'm leaving Thailand in mid-october and don't want to use up a 60 day visa when I'm only going to be here for a week.
Thanks,
Andrew

does anyone know, does the new immigration office have hours on Saturday?
Is it possible to get a 30 day extension on a 60 day visa on Saturday?

Hey Folks,
One of the Thai teachers at my school wants to employ a Phillipino to take care of her Dad. Apparently the women she wants to hire doesn't have a work permit. She is wondering can a Thai citizen get a work permit for a Phillipino w/o owning a business?

Are you sure you were not on a one year extension of stay before? Have never heard of anyone being prevented from leaving when on a 90 day visa entry.
If you are currently on a 90 day visa entry you should not have any problem leaving Thailand.
Lopburi you are correct last time I was on an extension of stay, this time it's just a non-b visa.

Hey Folks,
I have a non-b visa but no work permit.
I need to leave the country and come back
to apply for a new non-b visa.
Will immigration let me leave the country with a valid
non-b visa? The non-b is set to expire September 10th
and I want to leave from Nong Khai to Lao that day.
I know this question might be redundant, but
Last time I tried to leave the country with a valid non-b
I wasn't allowed because my work permit was still valid and
I had to go to the immigration office in Bangkok to get my non-b
cancelled. Anyway, this non-b expires September 10th.
BTW I can apply for more than one non-b in a year correct?

and the immigration bureau will know this? how much will I have to pay?(nevermind 20,000 baht or 500 a day. any idea why I can't leave?
why did my work take my work permit march 12th then? Why didn't they notice my overstay at the border?

Ok, basically the visa I have is non-b and does require I go to the immigration office every few months for a check up. That means it's a 1 year extension of stay visa you're saying? Secondly, I tried to leave the country March 30th, my employer no longer employed me around march 1st, but did not take my work permit until march 12th. My question is, if my employer has not reported that I do not work for them, then does that mean I have over stayed?

Yeah no one seems to have ever heard of this rule, but basically I'm on a non-b. It's due for a check up with immigration April 5th. I tried to leave and they told me it had to be stamped by immigration. Have tried calling immigration twice and e-mailing. It's set to expire in June 2008. That seemed to be the reason why I was turned around. They said my employer had to confirm I didn't work for them before I could leave.
BTW I am trying to leave and not have a non-b when I come back. I'm starting a new job. I do not have a multiple re-entry permit.
does anyone know a direct number to immigration for these problems? the number on the website goes to a menu I've tried a bunch of different options and never gotten to a human before.
btw tried to leave Sunday March 30th from Aranyaprathet. Didn't even get to Cambodia immigration.

Hey Folks,
I tried to leave the country to Cambodia and was turned around at the Thai immigration. They said my non-b visa had to be stamped by immigration declaring I didn't have a job. Does anyone know if this was just truly bad English and misunderstanding or do I have to go to immigration in Bangkok and get them to stamp my passport, before I can leave the country, invalidate my non-b, and then come back with a tourist visa?
Thanks,
Andrew

Hey Folks,
On Friday I left my teaching job (my contract had expired).
My employer told me I had 6 days to leave the country once
they cancel my work permit. My work permit is valid till
June 16 2008. My questions are:
A. If I find another job do they have to reapply for a work permit
or can you transfer a work permit?
B. I have the educational certificate in addition to the work visa.
Is my educational certificate still valid even if I don't have a job?
i.e. if I get a new job do I have to apply for it again?
I also have the FBI Background check, do I need to get another one?
C. If I do have to leave the country with in 6 days, can I come back
on a tourist visa? I haven't held a tourist visa since June 2007.
Kindly,
Andrew Jones
