Has anyone seen any shaving cream around lately? The only one I can find is a tub in one of the body shops, which is a little too big to carry around. Gillette seems to have taken over 711, boots, watsons, tescos, Robinsons etc etc. Everyone sells the same thing.

A definite (recent) sighting and location would be appreciated! Ideal would be body shop, but not the tub.

I originally used Bangkok Self Storage and thought they were OK.  I changed to save on the journey to Rama IV. Also I store more than 1 bag in my locker. It's secure in that I have my own padlock on the locker, and I have confidence in the staff.  I guess I'll leave my stuff there.

I've read the previous posts on storage, but wondered if there was any new information. I'm looking for a reasonably priced, secure storage locker in the Banglamphu area, suitable for storing a laptop and a couple of cases/packs. At the moment, I use a very good locker at A-One Inn in Soi Kasem San 1 for about 100B/week. But my usual hotel there is now a pile of rubble, so I probably won't stay on that road in the future.

I've just met with the crown specialist, and he advises root canal treatment. I had root canal treatment on the tooth 20 years ago or so, but they look thin on the x-rays. So he advises that they should be redone, to preclude future infection.

So the cost of this would be 11,000 for the root canals, 3,500 for the "posts", 1,000 for the core build up (the old very large filling), plus the crown, say 11,000 or 15,000 if I take a full gold crown. So that would be 26,500-30,500 Baht for the tooth! This is at Bankok Dental in Siam Square. Does this sound like a reasaonable cost and good investment?

I got a double entry a couple of days ago, no problems.

I took my passport in 10.30 on a Friday. There was no queue.  Picked up Monday 1 p.m. Very quick.

Good prices, Bobbin, compared to the Bangkok standard advertised prices. Did you get a discount because you had 4 done?

I'm about to have a crown made.  I have a choice between Porcelain fused to standard alloy for 7500B and Porcelain fused to semi-precious alloy >50% for 11000B.  I'm just wondering if it is worth paying the extra 3500B?

I've searched on the web and all the dentistry sites seem to plagiarise each other!

I read Easy Way to Stop Smoking after smoking for about 20 years.  That was 2 years ago.  It worked exactly as described.  I smoked my last cigarette and would now be more likely to eat a packet of cigarettes than put a lit cigarette in my mouth!  It was easy.  The best book I've read in my life.

I need to get some dental work done, probably root canal treatment and a crown.  I was thinking that rather than spend a week or two in Bangkok it might be more pleasant to get the work done in Hua Hin.

Any thoughts, recommendations?
