Getting ready for Petrol/Gas/oil (call it what you want, the stuff that makes your bike or car go) shotage. Just got a 10l Petrol Jerry can from the Gas station, and they filled it with 95 instead of the usual 91. This is for a Honda Click scoota motorbike. As I have not used the fuel yet, is it going to damage the little motorbike? Should I use it as is? HSould I mix it 50/50 and slowly get rid of it or just chuck it out and go get 91?

Earth to Brits, Go look at the British Pound vrs the 5 other majors, you will see it is spiraling down. I am sure the smart Brits hedged for this many moons ago.

"The real Claude Prigent had better watch out. he will be on some kind of watch list, and when he extends his visa or enters the country after leaving I would expect him to be arrested. And then he can explain that the other Claude Prigent is on the list, not him, etc. "
Would it even be possible to get a letter from the Police and immigration explaining the ID theft and problems? I could see this haunting the real guy for years.

A local cable operator who I have been looking at gets a feed via DSTV and as we know, that is stopping. Funny how they demanded I pay 18months upfront today, thats when I smelt the rotton fish. So how do we get ASTRO to get Sports S1 S2 S3 S4 and Australia Network for the rugby with western news? Astro seems to have the best packages in the region.

I believe that the tenticals have little poison darts, and if can, drench them in vinegar or a product called "Stingoes" during you pull the tenticals off. When agitated they fire off more little tiny darts into the victim. Also the worse thing to do I have been told is to rub the area with sand. I am not expert in this though, just food for thought.

I bought a used bike form a dealer who put Red Plates on the back of it, and said come back in a week to get the white one and the registration paper work. Are these red plates 'dealer' plates?
Is the bike effectively registered at the moment?
I spose I have to wait 1 week before can get insurance.

When you get a Thai driver lincense you need a form with your current address on it. First option I believe is to go to your embassey and fill out a form that you say you live at XYZ and give them money, I believe there is another free option by the Thai Gov that takes 3 weeks, I not in Bangkok and am trying to find out how to do this?
Thanks

Can we sign up for Astro in Thailand? On their website refers to installation is done by them.
Getting Australia Network for the footy is proving harder now.
I wonder how many local cable TV providers will be cutting many channels the day DSTV is cut. I know many hotel will not be happy that is using it.

This is a real bummer, lots of sport in English, good fishing shows with lovely tush.
Anyone now looking for Australia Network now who is not in Bangkok and I don't want to pay 16000 for a dish? Coming into footy season again which they show.

Lost TV reception, no radio in the house, but new. Does any one have any links to a radio station that would stream it live in Thai for the other members of the house hold?

With AA, B- KL route is often full, 5 days before they up the prices to 9000b each way. AA is getting much harder to book cheap flights on.
Malaysia airlines( are often around AA prices, worth checking their site out, after taxes)

I have used this place several times, a confirmation email did work, they held the room, others have not. No net in this place. About 1000b a day by memory. Nice and central. if you turn left at the front door, about 30m on the right a really nice French eatery, the Italian pizza place in the Fountain was disappointing. the Tuk Tuk mafia for tourist there is worse than Phuket for prices. The Embassy though is not walking distance, but maybe a 150b tuk tuk.Take insect spray.A lovely city to visit. So much charm.
"We usually stay at the Mali Namphu GH at least one night as it's right handy to the Fountain, the Kop Chai Deu Restaurant and such. Need to email for reservations tho as often to usually close to full. Be sure to ask for a room on the 1st (ground) floor or 2nd, my knees won't handle the 3rd & 4th floors. http://www.malinamphu.com/MSindex.htm"

The Embassy said they will be closed 26th. This was not on their web site for planned holidays in Feb. Just letting peole know. for planning purposses.

Below is a link for google maps for the Tahi Embassy in KL with close train stations.
-
For KL yes I have been told from reliable sources that yes you need 100k and married to a Thai wife for KL.
note, read recent threads on Penang as before considering going there, many recent warning of very dodgy stuff going on there, shame really. KL is all good though.

Yes, three pics 4cm X 6cm on the web site.
Ampang Park train station is a nice tip, thx.
Anybody know the cost for a Non Imm O multi entry? I read on Thai Visa it is about $220 Australian Dollars in Perth Australia.
Cheers.

Thanks folks in advance

I have the letter, stamped from my Embassy to say I live were I do.
I have all the stuff, except I didn’t get around to do it, while on the Non Imm ED visa, and I am unexpectedly going change Visas a month before I was planning to do to other circumstances, I am just trying to make sure I can do it when I get back to avoid an unnecessary difficult time before I go. It appears to be Non Imm Visa as the requirement. Not Work Permit, not a 12 month visa.
Thx again

There are many threads on here about getting the initial or converting from farang-land a Car and Motorcycle license. I have read in one of those threads (can’t find the link now) that it had to be a annual Visa, this may have been some ones belief. I am trying to find out if this is true.
I went to the Driver center today, the form in English clearly said a copy of “Non Immigrant Visa”, amongst many other things they want copies of that have been done to death on here.
So, I presume that a Non Imm O multi entry that needs a visa run to a bordering country every 90 days is all fine then. I am currently on a Non Imm ED that is for a year and have to go to the Immigration center every 90 days to pay 1900b tax for a extension.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this?
Thank you in advance

OK, so www.dstv.com is not related to TRUE UBC in Thailand.
Thx
-
I would like it if someone can clarify what is DSTV please. I have stayed in several cheap hotels in Thailand, out of BKK who show a South African based TV shows. I must say the selection is far superior to my liking for modern shows that the top package of TRUE UBC I had.
I have also seen this same selection in Sri Lanka and India.
Anyone know if we can get this here?
In this thread members refer to the following, is DSTV True UBC?
"DStv (True satellite service) is okay (our neighbours have it) but constant problem with the rain-fade"
I think this may be it.
