  1. Yes I probably should have started a new thread for DTAC. I actually forgot about my DTAC sim but I did keep both the True and DTAC sim going. Alright, so I got one last question. Can I activate this DTAC plan from Australia? I tried my DTAC sim today and it works as it's on global roaming and has a few baht in it. I am thinking if I put in my number into that dialog box it should send me a OTP and I enter the password and it should go through. Is that how it works? Of course I would do that the day I leave AU as I arrive the same day as I leave to go to Thailand.
  2. Why not get the 8 MBPS instead of 2? Good advice. In fact all of you have been giving me some good advice, thank you. Now please forgive me, I am not all that tech savvy, what is "data leakage solution". And how do I use that for 2 weeks when I am only in Thailand 60 days. I don't understand how this works. Can't I just buy this package every 15 days from start to finish of my holiday?
  3. If I was to choose the DTAC 2 MBPS Unlimited monthly package for 374 baht it says it automatically renews. That's OK but I only need it for 2 Months. The last thing I want or need is auto renew when I am not there and they consequently drain my account. How do you stop auto renew once you have left or no longer want it?
  4. Quick question, I also have a DTAC sim but this is not straight forward as to putting in a code and getting your data. I don't understand this, all I want is the code to get the package and this box appears. Where are the codes?
  5. Update: I received my 60 day TV from The Embassy in Canberra today. Postage and processing took 11 days in total. Allow 3 weeks if you live rural just to be safe. All I needed was the bio page of passport copy, an email confirming accommodation, a bank statement, return self addressed registered envelope, $60 AUD and as an extra I put in a copy of my flights as well which were exactly 60 days from in to out. Was a painless exercise. Bought FWD covid insurance for 1,050 baht to cover the 60 days. Applied for the Thai Pass and was approved in 7.5 Hours. The Thai Pass took about 15 minutes to complete, change all documents to jpeg and upload and all will be well as long as everything matches, all good, cheers.
  6. Thanks for all the help guys. So it seems as though the Bell Service is not running yet. It was a very popular bus service doing door to door with luggage for 300 baht o/w. It's understandable that they stopped the service during the pandemic. But the Roong Reuang service to Jomtien is running but I can not book it online at the moment as it only goes as far as 19th. May. It seems a good idea to book and if it stuffs up it's not a big deal as the fare is only 130 baht. As I am getting in at 17:00 Hrs, Thai pass, immigration and luggage might take an hour or so to get through which kind of lines up well with the 19:00 bus to Jomtien. I will try for this one. But disruptions do occur and if that happens I might use that Bolt Taxi service. If someone knows of the Bell Service starting up again could you please update the thread? Thanks guys.
  7. If I miss a bus and there is a long wait for the next one then I might have to use a taxi. Never heard of "Bolt Taxi". Are they safe (driving wise) and how do I get one and how much would it cost me from Airport to Pattaya?
  8. I have been going to Thailand for 32 years. After a couple of very dangerous taxi rides where the driver was falling asleep at the wheel and driving across lanes whilst nodding off I decided that the bus is much safer. Never had a bad ride on the bus. It isn't about the baht saved, it is about safety, that's all.
  9. Will be arriving end of May. Is the Bells Bus service still operating from the airport to Pattaya? I went on their website and picked from airport but the drop down list did not include to Pattaya, so that is why I ask. What is the other option that drops you on the 2nd road Jomtien? Are they running? I have time and get in at 17:00 Hrs, I prefer the bus over taxis. It's been 3 years so I'm a bit out of touch as to what's actually running. Thanks.
  10. Thanks, I am not in Thailand yet, I will be in 1 Month though. The only reason I backed off thinking about the cyril sneer plan is because I googled it hard plus searched elsewhere and could not find that code anywhere. I was thinking as he is renewing for a long time that it has just carried through. But now that others have confirmed it works I will try that first then keep my pick as second choice. I'll write a few down to load at the airport, hopefully 1 of them will work for me then, thanks.
  11. Thanks everyone for being so helpful. There really are some reasonable plans out there. I'm only staying for 2 Months so I will do 2 x 30 day data plans. I don't do much video stuff so I might do the 2 mbps unlimited add on for around 481 baht, cheers. Add-on package unlimited internet (2Mbps) Unlimited internet, no speed reduction 2Mbps Terms and Conditions Package Type one-time lifetime 30 days from the date of receiving SMS confirming the subscription The add-on pack can be used as scheduled until 23:59. package price 450.00 baht VAT 7% 31.50 baht together 481.50 baht
  12. It's been 3 years since I have been in Thailand however I keep my sim going and it is still valid. There use to be a list of codes for certain data plans. I was paying around 370 for an unlimited 1 mbps plan but I think everything has changed now. What I need is a bolt on pre paid data plan, I don't need a phone call plan. Is there a list of plans with the codes I need to enter somewhere? I have checked on the truemove site but they keep wanting me to sign in or join a monthly post paid plan but I don't want/need that. Do any of you have the codes and plans or any other recommendations? Thank you.
  13. You are a great asset to this forum, thank you. I saw some other comments from you in another thread about this company so it's good to get confirmation of that, cheers!
  14. Looking at getting a 60 day TV. My credit card gives me travel insurance but not covid insurance so I need to get that. I only want/need covid insurance and the company FWD (Thai asq recommended) is quoting B 1,050 for this. Is this option enough to get the Thai Pass? And in what order do I do things. Airfare > Hotel > Visa > Insurance > Thai Pass. Is this about right? Thank you.
  15. OK, that's helpful. So I don't need to send my flight details by the looks of what you have mentioned. Plus the website doesn't ask for it. Seems weird as 3 years ago I had to have much more paperwork including flights for the TV. Has it been relaxed maybe?
  16. Thanks ubonjoe, I just noticed it says this too: Confirmed accommodation in Thailand under the applicant’s name. I think I might be moving around a bit. Is the first night in a quarantine hotel enough? Or do I need more. But I don't know where I will be travelling as yet.
  17. I haven't been to Thailand for 2 and a half years, so I am a bit out of touch. I would like to come to Thailand for 85 days and book my flight showing this. Would the Canberra Embassy issue me a 60 day TV when the flights clearly showing intention of me returning in 85 days? Basically I would do the 60 days and then go to my local immigration and get a 30 day extension for 1900 baht. Would that work?
