  1. i forgot to add, maybe if you will email AFM in english, you should try the international addy (see their website) so its sure to reach an english speaking staff.

also, it is advisable even if you're in bkk to send the order to its changmai main office first which will forward it to the jatujak shop for pick-up. just to make sure all the seeds you want are there...

i just started germinating the seeds. the hollyhock seedlings are doing fine now. :D

hey, let's compare notes, like what grows well in thailand and then here in PH... from where i am, the climate/temp is the same as bkk.

havent tried the lavender seeds actually.

btw, the seeds dont really all originate from thailand (but they have home grown specials - marigolds, vinca, impatiens, etc) but australia, england, USA :o

  2. thanks sbk...

when he was younger, he was more cooperative. the hind paws however are no problem.

i will just have to try harder i think. and maybe do it more often, just to get him used to it, even if i am not really going to pull the hairs etc... they say shih tzus are stubborn breed. this is one of the times he shows this behavior but otherwise, very sweet and obedient dog... :o

  3. thanks cobra! :o

but really, why cant we smile at photos such as these? do smiles really change facial features, as compared if you frown or just stare blankly like they want?

you see, it just occurred to me that it is really unfair when we cannot give our most pleasing faces on these type of photo-taking... suppose, you got into a problem, say a bit of a crime (minor, something not proven yet, etc)... then they publish your awful looking picture on the papers... isn't that so unfair indeed? you get to be the bad guy at once just by looking at your picture....LOL...

and i still maintain, it is your face that will appear, not theirs. we're doing them a favor right by participating on these stuffs..

LOL....dont take this so seriously. i dont know anything about those stuffs..... :D

  4. that is why TV forum discussions are so interesting...

questions and issues, no matter what kind or where you are coming from, are tackled multi-faceted only to go down to one thing...being a farang, farang vs. local, adjusting life to a different culture, mostly moral...... :D

    very, very interesting indeed... :o

  5. My shih tzu likes being groomed. I like grooming him.

    The problem is:

    1. He is ticklish on his front paws (for trimming excess hair in paw areas, and even clipping nails); and

    2. He is also ticklish on his ears. Have to do a battle with him just plucking off the hairs from inside his ears.

All others he love -- brush, massage, top knot (falls instantly asleep on this with a good snore to boot!)

Any solutions please from owners of similar breeds? Thanks in advance.

  6. If there are two things that keep TV (thai visa) forum members running around in circles, it has to be music and movies. So how about mixing the two and coming up with this new thread:

What is your favorite movie soundtrack?

You may give up to five best/favorites. If you cannot come up with the five right now, you can come back and complete your list next time. But remember, it really has to be your personal best and it has to be five. Not much room for cheating here, huh? :o

Then after some considerable time, the mod or any volunteer who has the time and patience (not me...) can tabulate the results and we can have a ranking.

Later, we can also probably see some interesting trends and info like how these movie soundtrack came from a few artists/composers or directors/producers who favored this or that kind of genre...or they came from everywhere. Fascinating, isn't it? :D

    Here are my favorites:

    1. Saturday Night Fever (John Travolta with artists and composers: Bee Gees)

    2. Sleepless in Seattle (Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan)

    3. One for SEAsia...Good Morning, Vietnam! (Robin Williams: for me, it resurrected "What a Wonderful World" and the Beach Boys)

Reserving my two slots for later....

Hope you enjoy this new game, er, thread... :D
