  1. Thank you ???? I had a notion that this was somewhere else completely... Somewhere between Silom and Sathorn... forgot the name of the road... I was there once, the last time I got a visa extension.... many years ago....
  2. Is it close to a SkyTrain /subway station? And does it have to be done in Bangkok?
  3. Sorry, what is CW and where did you have to go to get your extension?...

    Buriram

I didn't mean to start a controversy.... I don't like small Thai towns. I was in Chiang Rai once and I fled after two days. As soon as I exited the minuscule town centre I found that there were dogs roaming in the streets. I like to walk around a lot and I'm afraid of stray dogs, so this sort of "experience" is not for me. I was thinking of travelling to Buriram this winter because I have a Thai acquaintance who lives in the area (outside the city). I don't know if the town is worth the hassle of getting there though. That's why I posted the question. Thank you all for your input ????

Why is Buriram not good? I was thinking of visiting because I have an acquaintance who lives in the area. But I'm not sure the place is worth the hassle of getting there....

    Buriram

Is the city of Buriram worth visiting? How difficult is it to go from Buriram to Phanom Rung?
  11. I am considering travelling to Phnom Penh for a few days this winter, mainly for the purpose of exiting Thailand and reentering to get another 45 day visa exemption. I have never been to Cambodia, I don't know what to expect. Is it safe to walk in the streets? I am very much into walking around and I am interested in Buddhist temples. I don't go out after dark and I'm not interested in nightlife. How do I get safely from the airport to my hotel and back? Are there Western-style supermarkets and convenience stores in Phnom Penh? I keep a very restrictive diet for health reasons and I don't eat in restaurants. In Thailand I used to find hard-boiled eggs at 7-11 and cooked meat/fish at supermarkets. Is there anything like that in Phnom Penh? Thank you.
  12. This is not clear to me. No restrictions means that insurance is not required? And how reliable is that website?
  13. Please do. Maybe the information is not accurate, but this is what I have read.
  14. I have not been to Japan, but it's exactly the same in South Korea. Also Taiwan and Singapore.
  15. Thank you. I see entry requirements differ for Cambodia and Vietnam.... Vietnam still requiring travel insurance for Covid, as opposed to Cambodia and Thailand who don't.
  16. Is a trip to Cambodia by air a good option? I have never been to Cambodia. If I go to Cambodia for 5-6 days and return to Thailand I can get a second 45-day visa exempt entry? I wonder if Cambodia is safe and how it compares to Thailand ????
  17. Thank you all for taking the time to answer. I am definitely not going there. I am looking for hassle-free destinations. But I do appreciate all your answers very much ????????????
  18. Thank you for all the information ???????????? My goal is getting away for about 3 months during the winter. I don't like cold weather. I am not yet sure about going to the Philippines. I prefer safer destinations like Malaysia or Thailand. Thanks again!!!
  19. Sounds like India...... Thank you for sharing ????
