  1. Doctors are not allowed to give her an injection. We discussed it with a young doctor and she advised us. She helped us to remove some equipment (normally she is not allowed as well). Grandma passed away peacefully 75 minutes later. I discussed a couple things with a young vet regarding my dog (just in case). He was willing to help if we ever had that problem. I asked him if I was allowed to be with my dog until the end and he told me normally Thai people will not do that. If your dog is pregnant they even refuse to sterilize her. He told me he feels sorry when he has to put down a dog and will go to the temple afterwords. At the moment I use expensive medicine to cure my dog from a liver problem. The doctor told me that I probably could get the same medicine cheaper online. In the past I killed a hamster that was given up by the vet but he did not want to do it himself.
  2. Probably cheap paint, be careful to use the same paint. We used a quality paint on a ceiling for repair and the old painting came loose. We had to redo the whole ceiling a couple times. If small area's like this just touch up, most people will not notice the difference even if the color does not match. When you enter a room you are not looking at the ceiling probably only when in bed.
  3. A week or so you asked whos was thinking about leaving the country. Well in my extended family 80 % of the younger generation would. Even my wife and she was never interested in leaving Thailand. Hope these guys get more momentum and succeed and never have to use the tactics of the IRA, ETA, RED BRIGADE, CCC and many more, mostly leftist (so called peaceful) organisations.
  4. Used SCB as well but it takes me about an hour while my wife is in and out in less than 10 minutes. THis is one of the many things the TAT forget to mention when they want to attract foreigners.
  5. If it is done in a responsible way I have no problems with new developments. Went back to my home country for the first time in 23 years and the whole place looked better organised and much cleaner. However most small shops in the villages disappeared and not a single ATM within 10 km. Most people now visit supermarkets and malls instead.
  6. Depart on the Thai in BKK enter with the UK passport in London. Leave London with The UK passport enter BKK with the Thai. Take some extra time to fill in the Arrival/Departure card for your sons, you have one part in your passport.
  7. Well, went for the first time in 81 (holiday) loved it . Had to go back in 93 for work, still ok for Karon but Patong was a human made disaster. Returned again in 95 for work and decided that I would never have a holiday at that place, it was my last visit. Just wanted to cry, how can people do this to their own country. My last visit to Kho Samui was in 86, to be honest I'm afraid to go back for the same reason.
  8. British or American ???? People it is a joke ????
  9. 04. Electricity can be expensive. Know an NGO who paid 480 K 20+ years ago for a couple hundred meter. It was about 80K for each next pillar. Once it was installed many started to build in the same area and hooked up for the regular fee. You may pay for it but you don't own it.
  10. We bought paddy fields 150 K with chanote (from family), sold 450 K 24 years later bought 200 Talang Wa without paper for 30K sold for 150 K, still without paper. So it depends where it is (near the village) and if the people know you. We got many requests to buy but not enough money. Anty of the wife bought a couple rai when the BP was high (lives in Manchester) and sold it with profit when the pound was not even 40. THink she made more on the exchange rate. Yet again in her village and sold to a friend.
  11. HIs greed and treat was the reason the military reacted hence that's why I say he is the cause (he give the military an excuse to react) of the problems we have right now
  12. And even when they are real, no problem. If their boss can get away with declaring 104 million why should those lower rank should have problems?
  13. There is a solution for those who want to see it and have the guts to react. You nor I are going to change anything it is up to the people to react.
  14. To get the majority only one thing will help you "vote buying" Something Mr. T is specialized in. Keep him as far away from Thailand as possible. Replacing a big problem with another big problem is not a solution.
  15. I think this guy and those from the TAT should switch departments and we may have correct figures for once.
  16. If I remember well she was kicked out when they found out she was supporting Jihadi.
  17. Is it possible that the employer extend the work permit while he is out of the country?
  18. Who needs a law while a good old fashioned 7.62 or 5.56 could do a better job.
  19. Thank you for the update, my brother moved to Spain after retirement.
  20. She had her vaccines and was wearing her mask thinking she was safe. ???? If people get afraid of this then they should understand how we feel after 1 1/2 year of covid stories. JUst an excuse to prepare for the failure of the sandbox. remember this is Thailand end it is always somebody else's fault.
  21. Yup, she drives an automatic and probably uses the Schumacher technic by using two feet. Me on the other hand I have to be careful in a rented car not to use my left thinking it is the clutch ????
  22. Yes, around the same rate as shown at the bank. First time I went 2012 however the rate was close to 34 baht in 2019 is was around 21. ???? However some ATM providers within Australia charged me as well, the one at the airport for sure. The one at my regular place, across the Murray in NSW did not charge me until 2019.
  23. Used it In Australia on many occasions, if I remember well they charged 100 baht for each transaction
