Rooster sorry for your loss. My MIL passed away after 13-year old battle with different cancers, I was angry when I found out she was terminally ill. She went all these years to the check-us but the doctors did not do their job correctly. I still miss her and like yours she always took may side, never complained, lent us money when I actually did not need it etc etc. If she would have been 30 years younger I would have switched her for my wife (her daughter) The father in law is a complete different story

USAF Team to Visit Thailand to Assess F-35 Procurement Potential
SomchaiCNX replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Because they got discounts if they entered the program earley. It is also expensive to change as the existing weapons do not work on different airplanes made outside the US. (to carry nuclear bombs for example) Do not forget in many countries it are the politicians who decide, maybe not stupid but greedy for sure (money and power). The F104 starfighter for example (kick backs) Agusta helicopters (kickbacks) Mirages (work opportunities in the region etc etc) -
USAF Team to Visit Thailand to Assess F-35 Procurement Potential
SomchaiCNX replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Not only the US Air Force, many other countries worry. THailand is far better of with a single kind of fighter now they have a mixed force, Northrop F5 (not sure they all retired) , Saab Viggen, F 16 and their transport planes are a mix as well. F16 with the newest upgrades would last another 30 years or so, the newest Saab are very good value for money. Absolutely no need for F35 or a mixed fleet. A lot of wasted money, even their Alpha jets can do the job. -

Doesn’t Thailand have enough events already to attract tourists?

But like Dave, you have to manage to get in the country first ???? TAT are a bunch of well overpaid good for nothing people. -
Yes, I had the same idea but after 30 years living over here I have given up on that. You need at least another century to clean up the mindset of those people who join the police force. They know in advance about the pay but know as well they get a ticket to bribe and commit crimes themselves. Hence why so many kids of rich people are in that farce, not enough to fill the gas tank of the car they are driving but yet they are there.

Fourteen women file sexual abuse complaints against ex-Democrat Prinn
SomchaiCNX replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You live here long enough to know what would have happened to that woman 15 years ago if she would have attacked (made a complaint) a powerful and protected man. And yes the future forward is probably involved to protect these woman to clean up part of THai politics. 80 % of these so called elected people belong in jail anyway. -
No Contaminated Chocolate Imported to Thailand
SomchaiCNX replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Did not know they had a factory there. I spent more than one year of my life in that area. It was like the end of civilisation ???? About 50 years ago I thought it was a German product. For those who don't know that place is near Bastogne, the area of the battle of the Bulge during WWII. -
Is living in Thailand better health-wise than elsewhere?
SomchaiCNX replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"Despite issues like tuberculosis and malaria", mentioning these two things is a little over the top or BS like. After 30 years I met just 1 Farang with Malaria (got it in Tak) and one Thai with TBC. PLenty of other more dangerous things. -
