Athapol recommended that, in order to efficiently boost studying of these topics, the learning-teaching activities should include variety based on the students' ages, educational level and content to emphasis. For example, primary students should learn social skills, including how to behave or negotiate - and social values such as respect for others, children's duties and discipline. Primary pupils should not learn subject content through rote learning but teachers should place emphasis on the attitudes for harmonious co-existence in society. More content could be taught in lower secondary such as how forms of government were in line with economic ideologies, he said, then upper secondary level could expand more in readiness for higher education.
This is a parent's duty, not the teacher's responsibility. Sure, a teacher can help with this along the way with classroom management, but as a teacher, I'm not these kids' parents. I teach content, and what they do with it is up to them.
Why not instill a philosophy where children are actually raised by their parents rather than shoved off to be raised by their grandparents? That would be a start. Furthermore, do we really want Thai teachers to continue to hold the reigns with disciplining, most notably through some form of physical punishment?
Excellent comment

Smallest shotgun I know of is a 410 or a 20 gauge. ....rat shot? I think that is a nickname for the aforementioned calibers

What's a .22 shotgun?

I have been to Bang Kwang prison about a year back (had some installation project there) and have seen a few farangs in leg irons there. We had fairly free movement within the compound (except for the area housing inmates sentenced for life) so I estimated the number to around 20+. It was quite scary experience being just 100m from buzling market yet locked there...
So far this guy seems to be the only person commenting here who's ever seen the inside of a thai prison....perhaps we should listen to him as per the conditions?

And you know all this from movies and documentRIES i ASSUMEIm sure youre right...I don't really know I've never been to a thai prison but the ones where I'm from are sub human...it's the other prisoners you have to be wary of.....the gangs run the whole thing...i imagine it's the same here in thailand but the racial issue and inability to move freely inside the prison that make for a living nightmare in the usa...
Yes, anything I know (or think I know) about thai prisons come from TV and documentaries. You are absolutely correct, thankfully.
My comments are really about the treachery that is the usa prison system, in particular the state of louisiana, and specifically Orleans Parish Prison and Angola. I don't need a documentary for insight into those places I'm afraid.
-
Oh yeah, what are your sources of information, please. To be certain i don't want to go to prison. If i did have to go though I'm certain I'd prefer thai prisons over the usa....especially my state of louisiana....A white guy has to be very lucky to complete a prison sentence over there in one piece. Not rascist, just a fact.
Which part is not a fact? The part where I think thai prison would be preferable to louisiana state prison? The part where I mention the inherent difficulties for white guys in minority dominated prison systems in the usa? Sadly this is not information gleaned from a movie....
The only part of this that is conjecture is the true state of prisoners within the thai system... i know very little aside from that which is available on the net about thai prisons....it looks absolutely terrible....As I mentioned I have a hankering for neither....i do, however, think it's important for those In the know to tell the world about the usa ' s prisons...it's bad

Ummmm, I'm from new orleans...i may know one or two folks who've been inside

Of the 149 from Europe I bet 130 of them are Brits
I take this as a racist comment & I am deeply offended....
British people are not a race...I'm just sayin'

Maybe they should consult the Mayor of New Orleans?
As a New Orleanian I suggest NOT talking to mr. Nagin......unless you want to know how NOT to reinforce the city from the inevitable

Lose the weight first, then hit the gym. Every thing that you need to stay in shape is in your home. Unless you want to bulk up. Free weights people dont have. Machines do nothing but assist you. They don't help.
Doesn't "assist" mean "help?"

Former presidents of the USA are technically referred to as "President xxxxx".......watch or read old referrals to lbj, Nixon, Reagan,The Bushes or any other former president.....as another poster noted it is implied that anyone making a reference to a president (current or former) will know who is in office at the time they utter the person's name.....how many of y'all responding are from the USA I wonder???? If you are, you should know the nomenclature.....if your not, you should probably not worry about what we call our leaders

My wife and I live in the very back of a very
Large mooban. Both of us have been chased by the same VICIOUS dog while riding the 100cc bike to the market. The dog nearly bit my wife last weekday as she slowed to make a turn-she got away by the skin of her teeth. 2 weeks before, while riding a friend to Bok soi, the same dog chased us and just nearly bit my buddy riding pillion.
Can I kill this mother****r? My wife says if I do it some of the neighbors will get upset as it obviously disrupts Buddhist tradition; I get that, I'm trying to live a Buddhist life too. I just can't abide a vicious dog loose in my neighborhood. He might bite my wife....if that happens he'll be short for this world.i agree, the dog situation here is totally out of control!!!!!

Gun ownership for farang in Thailand is prudent....who's going to respond to the midnight break-in....NO ONE!! I don't own one in this country because the country makes it very difficult. I do, however, own them in the USA for hunting and home protection; I've had to draw it for both purposes. The uk folks will say just outlaw them. That would be a good idea if it had been done 200 yrs ago. The fact is that, in the event of gun criminalization, the bad guys will still have them and we, law abiding americans, will not. There are a lot of pro's and cons

Get a visa before you come. In Portland Oregon at the Thai consulate, it you're really, really, really polite and nice, the lady has been known to grant visas up to TWO YEARS! If not, Dallas's consulate has been very obliging In the past; remember, all of this can be done by mail in a week if one uses a fast courier

Xkmasada.......please send your ridiculous conspiracy theories to the tabloids.....spouting that kind of nonsense here runs the risk of the intellectually susceptible actually believing you. Go play w your star trek figures

I agree with the previous poster as per koh kret....it's beautiful!!! Luxurious beaches, plenty of very inexpensive lodging and only a 10 minute trip from Bangkok.....the airport there is very small so (similar to the 100% true story "The Beach") it is advisable to swim there. This is such an off the beaten trek paradise that when you try to book reservations tour agencies will probably try to talk you out of it-don't listen, they just want to keep it a secret. Have a fun trip!

Who gives 50k Euros to somebody who calls you on the phone? I know the response from tv posters will be that these call center guys prey on the elderly, but c'mon folks, wise up
