  1. T_Dog;

    I have done a bit of research into this, and the only solution I can find is to use the Windows under Bootcamp and use either Vegas or Picture Motion Browser. Each of them have their own issues.

    There are other "Work Arounds" but none of them seem to give the required quality.

    I wish I could have a better answer.

  2. Ok, I saw one in there yesterday - sorry, I forgot to ask the price.

    They are a very nice peice of kit, and you are correct the SR12 is large and heavy.

    One thing I have found with HD is the need for a tripod, and a nice heavy one. I got motion sick looking at some of my work on a large screen HD TV because of the Camera shake etc. HAving the additional screen size and clarity xeems to amplify any shake or "unplanned" panning.

    Good luck and enjoy, I have found watching my own HD work is a pleasure and I hope the same for you.

  3. There is a Camera Store in Central Rama 3 that sells them. From memory its on the 3rd floor.

    Its interesting why you are chosing the HF10, as I was very seriously considering one and then I read about the issue of saving files when it spans both memory cards, so I went with the Sony SR12, whic also has its own issues.

    Probably also Fortune Tower you should be able to find it there.

  4. TO THE MODERATOR: I reccomend you close this topic. I thnik I have made my point. Some members seem interested in turning this into some personalized pi$$ing contest.

    Good idea! :o

    There are some very good hospitals in Bangkok that offer "Laser Treatment" so one can not feel inadequeate.

    Needless to say - good time to close

  5. I wanted the web browser for the Wii so I could play some media on my TV. So I eventually got the Wii Points and downloaded the Opera Browser.

    Thaivisa works well with a Nintendo Wii as the browser. I also use the USB Keyboard.

    The hardest part was actually getting the Wii points, as I had to get someone from the USA to buy them for me.

    Has anyone else had luck using a Wii as a browser, particularly for scripted sites like Thaivisa ?

  6. The problem I have with Ubuntu is the support for Firewire. I was able to capture one video then is gave up the driver somehow.

    I am looking to remove it simply because there is no measurable improvement in speed.

  7. sbk;

    Thank you for pointing this out. There is a considerable amount of golf equipment that is sold and has been used only a few times. A quick way to check this is look at the bottom of the club and see how much its scratched. Also look at the grips, if they look worn or a bit fuzzy then they have had good use.

    This aside, the main thing in my mind is to look for rust or damage on the shaft. Then look at the head of the club and see if there is any obvious damage or rust.

    Finally take them to the range and have a test hit.

  8. DVD station on Sukhumvit just to the side of Sheraton Grande (underneth the skytrain station) is good for lotsa Western movies. Also, Shawshank Redemption is available in it's special edition packaging in a SE Asia (region 3) realease at many DVD outlets. Great edition (English language) with lots of extras and zone 3 pricing.

    Yes, they do have a good selection of Original Movies. You can also find some Gems in the Video Chains. I was able to buy the first 3 seasons of an old TV Series for my daughter from the video chain thats in many Tesco's

  9. Those Disco Rafts are great fun, but they certainly do party too long into the evening. They also have a fair share of drunks on board, partying away.

    I can understand the locals being annoyed.

    BTW, they are a cheap weekend if you have 5 - 10 people in a party. Thing to remember is to bring your food and have the cook prepare it for you and also you need to bring your own drinks.

    I thin from memory they are about 3500 a day to rent

  10. Ok on the LNB Question you can get a Universal Ku and C Band LNB. Its operated with a Diseq, and the Cband has the Low Voltage with the KU the High voltage. You can manually tell the box whick Diseq to choose.

    Using a properly set up Diseq, you can control multiple LNB's or even the dish (Its very slow though) here is a linky to show a 2 box setup. http://www.satellitedish.com/DiSEq_Guide.htm You can normally get a box that has 4 positions, so if you don't like a steer dish then you can have multiple dishes operating frm a diseq switch.

    Getting back to Pas 8, I recently played with my dish and was also able to get Pas 2. I got a 45% signal with 30% signal quality. Problem was I lost Pas 7 which has some interesting channels.

    If you have a Fixed Dish for Pas 8, you will need to do some preparation. First you will need to set up a New Sat in Sat Edit. Then you will need to add a good number of these TP frequencies that you can find here http://www.lyngsat.com/intel8.html If You don't understand this web page then DO NOT play with your box, pay the local Sat guy about 1000 Baht and he will do it all for you. If you do understand that page, then release the retaining bolt holding the vertical pisition on the dish until it is nearly horisontal. Turn your box on and then select TP 6 or 3829 H then carefully tighten the bolt until your dish rises from Horizontal and eventually after some hard turning, you will get PAS 8. You will see the Signal Strength then quality rise until you get a sufficient signal.

    Personally its too much like hard work for 1000 Baht, and the local dealer will do it all.

    Good Luck

  11. Can anybody add to the list?

    I think you might find more than 1 in Soi Cola in Surin. Walk around and you will see.

    Mind You I think Speed 3 Disco in Soi Cola is more fun.
