  1. I wonder if anyone would actually post their results if they're less than 100? Or for that matter, less than mine (seeing as I currently hold the dubious title of least intelligent person on the board so far) :o

  2. Hmm bugger... 126

This is what the result said

"We also compared your answers with others who have taken the test, and according to the sorts of questions you got correct, we can tell your Intellectual Type is Visual Mathematician.

This means you are gifted at spotting patterns ? both in pictures and in numbers. These talents combined with your overall high intelligence make you good at understanding the big picture, which is why people trust your instincts and turn to you for direction ? especially in the workplace. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results."

Not too bad I guess. I like the bit about "overall high intelligence", though I kinda have my doubts that it actually reflects the truth! :o

  3. A German court has rejected a claim from an unemployed man who wanted the state to provide him with pornographic material and free visits to a brothel.

The 35-year-old man took his local authority to court after the foreign ministry refused to pay an airfare for his Thai wife to travel to Germany.

He argued that they should compensate him for his lack of sex.

But the court in the southern town of Ansbach said such activities should be paid out of his welfare benefits.

A court spokesman said the man was planning to appeal.

    Unfulfilled needs

The unnamed man argued that, as his wife lived in Thailand, the local authority had to compensate him for his "considerable sexual needs".

The 2,500-euro claim (£1,700, $3,050) a month was to fund weekly brothel trips, eight pornographic videos and transport costs to and from a video store.

"I require the brothel visits for my physical and psychological wellbeing," the man said in his application.

But the court said social security benefits already covered "everyday requirements". :o

Image the cues... First at the dole office to pick up your wedge, then straight into the red light district...

  4. A while back I got a birthday card sent through wishing me all the usual good health and wealth, and a side note telling me to have a drink with the cash enclosed... Needless to say there wasn't any! :o

I wonder how many others here have had stuff go "missing" in the post?

  5. A guys having a busy day at work, and decides to call home to say he'll be a little late. His daughter answers the telephone.

"Hello, can I speak with with Mommy?"

    "Mommy's upstairs with Uncle Harry"

"Oh, er, and whats Mommy and Uncle Harry doing upstairs?"

"They're playing in the bedroom, with no clothes on"

Shocked "Now listen very carefully. I want you to go upstairs and tell Mommy and Uncle Harry that Dad has just come home... Will you do that for me honey?"

"OK" and he hears her running up the stairs. A few minutes later his daugher picks the phone up again.

    "OK honey, what happened?"

"Well, Uncle Harry started running around grabbing clothes fell down the stairs and now he's not moving"

"Oh... um... and what about Mommy"

"She also started running around grabbing clothes then jumped out of the window into the swimming pool that you emptied last week, and now she's not moving either"

"Oh, er.... Swimming Pool??? Is this 555 6245"

  6. If China finishes the other 27? (not sure) dams it's  building on the very same river, they won't need any bridges.  Just throw a handkerchief down and step over it.

:o LMAO... I heard it was already over a meter lower than this time last year. Seriously though, China must know what they are doing (or don't they give a sh*t)?

  7. Well said Griser!

At last the voice of reason breaks through the ill conceived nonsense. Shouts of "your docs should be in order" or "throw out the illegals" are justified, but if it means stampeeding over legal holiday makers or residents then it surely can't be good for business.

I would also assume that TAT might not agree with "Nobody cares if you come to Thailand or not , especially the Thais" though I could be wrong! :o

  8. "Buy an apple mac"!!!

Oh... sure... why not... Money to burn for a computer that over 90% of the world no longer use! (tho I'm sure it does have its place somewhere... if only I could find it!)

Macs USED to be the be all and end all of video editing! Fact is a PC can do EXACTLY the same these days!

Don't agree? Feel free to flame me, but tell me what computer Star Trek - "Next Generations" used for their CGI... NOT a PC :o or a MAC???? :D Why???

  9. I've heard that Thaksin is going to/has changed the way that bank accounts are handled for foreigners. Apparently non-resident foreingers will no longer earn interest on their Thai accounts, and will incurr a 500 Baht "Administration" Fee per month for the pleasure of having a bank account in Thailand!

Has anyone else heard of this (or is it just one of those rumours that go about)?

  10. The Gfx card is a Asus FX5950 (nVidia Chipset 5900) which supports dual monitors with the use of a converter for the second monitor.

I've got the latest drivers and have tried on a couple different resolution settings.

In all honesty though, it looks more like some sort of minor interference. With that in mind, I tried moving my speakers further away from the monitors (even outside of the room), and tried to seperate the cables so that there could be nothing "leaking" from one to the other... Not sure if that even happens!

But I have still got this ###### faint line scrolling down (or up depending on which monitor) every few seconds or so.

    Any other suggestions?

  11. A brief scenario:

A guy owns an internet based company.

The website is hosted in america, he is british and living in Thailand, all funds are collected by PayPal, and there is a good chance that in the future he will do most (if not all) his banking via Singapore or Hongkong.

Where is this business liable for tax?

  12. I recently bought a new computer with dual monitors. When only one of the monitors is turned on everything is fine. But when both are turned on there is a strange faint line (much like the line on a radar) that moves down one monitor, while another moves up the other.

Its not really a great problem, only an annoyance (especially as the system cost 45K - not including the monitors!!!) but I was wondering if anyone knows of any fixes for this?
