I did not know that you could "decline a police meeting." Interesting. While I have always practiced staying under the radar (except for the one time we went to get a massage in the city and when we left it was dark and I couldn't see much out of my sunglasses driving back to the village! and maybe a few others I've forgotten) it is good to know that if the police ever come round, I will politely decline their "meeting".

I'm sure when the immigration police "request" a meeting, he won't decline.

"He is trying to kill us" one of the guys said in the video to the Thai couple. You can see that they were not being aggressive or looking crazy in the video. They had zero interest in using the gun themselves. Hopefully we will see all the CCTV evidence to show what actually happened.  Either way, I bet they will never return to Thailand again.

Hopefully they'll spend a lot of time in Thailand...behind the walls of a prison. Lucky for the Kiwis that their parents are wealthy, it's their best and maybe only chance of seeing NZ again in the near future.

We take them all the time. Wifey is really good at negotiating the rate. Otherwise, like you say, a rip off.

Same. My Thai wife can almost always get a good price. I tell friends that visit to take a tuk-tuk once for the novelty, then avoid them like the plague unless you don't mind paying the inevitable inflated price or being taken somewhere the driver gets a commission. Not to defend the grifter overcharging, but even the "tourist" price is still dirt cheap compared to taxi prices in most people's home countries.

The best response that I have heard of from a member of a cabin crew is 'Our job is to save your ass. Not kiss it.'

On a more serious note, most passengers seem to assume that it is the crew's job is to serve them.

    It's not.

They are there for passenger's safety. The rest is just a bonus.

Cabin crews are instructed not to help lift baggage for passengers, it's a leading cause of injury in the industry. If you can't lift the bag yourself, pay the damn checked baggage fee.

This kind of behavior is happening all over the world's roads and even worse outcomes, best is to let things go, i know it's hard as often I myself get angry at other inconsiderate motorists but I allow for cool head to prevail.

I'm from California where this type of thing is an everyday occurrence, I learned a long time ago that honking or gesturing at other drivers can and will get you killed. Best just to let it go, and not worth dying for.
