  1. What is unprecedented? They said 200-400. The number of observers depends on the number of polling stations. Elections in Cambodia in July 2018 hosted 220 observers from 52 different countries. Source here https://www.reuters.com/article/us-cambodia-election-monitors/cambodia-says-52-nations-to-send-monitors-for-its-election-idUSKBN1KE1Q0.

Looks like there is a lot to hide from international community in upcoming election. That's what.

  2. My suggestion is, since the speakers were invented by Graham Bell only about 130 years ago, that Mosques and Temples should go back to their real tradition, values and culture as it was before speakers were invented. That's it people. How did they do it for centuries without amplifiers and speakers. My humble wish is also to apply this to villages and urban communities where the polluting with sound is endemic.  ;) not that anything will change....just saying ...feels good, feels right

Look sorry if English is not your first language. Read it twice, allright, you have done that, then Lets Go.

Bangkok that 2014 to 2017 December - at least 5 days to two weeks each of those years, I have stayed in said hotel and do my Xmas shopping and attend a party. Located in Siam Square area.

In Chiang Mai On the soi behind the Montri (M) hotel. 2 Guest houses Belly up - these are not in the back packer area, but, farther up a Travelfish recommended place for years gate up just no one there - two other not a soul to be seen  - these are 20 plus places, one a boutique hotel.. Now this is lean season but the two that were closed were dead last February too. This is not THIS YEARS blather this is the last 2 to 4 to 6 years.

You want to troll fine, now contribute something, or change handles and off to a new post, and what fun!

    Ok Nigel

Wow and this is in English. I still have a lot to learn.

  4. Making a series of non-reusable plastic banners, most likely figure is in thousands, is a very good start. People up there are just not serious. What a pity for the country and its people, expats included. Taxing plastic and banning it would do miracles along with a proper education. What am I talking about. To early for a century. ;(  at list.

  5. Oh dear. Thailand is going backward in the rights of deaf people to be able to drive vehicles. Deaf people can drive in all EU countries, in all US states and here is the link where you can check in which countries deaf people can drive. Thailand is still on the list, but looks like it won't be any longer. Human rights in Thailand don't really mean much. Link: https://axleaddict.com/safety/Deaf-People-Drive . These clowns are very sad clowns. Good luck to all handicapped in the kingdom because the only gear this bunch is familiar with is 'reverse'. I think instead of hearing test they should introduce IQ test, that would sort out almost all problems. Could say a word or two more. No more energy.

  6. Where do they get this statistics. On my latest travel up north in the mountains everything on two feet is smoking cheap Burmese tobacco rolled in banana leaves. ASH is abbreviation for a..holes.

Introduce vaping to the nation and tell them that this is the latest achievement of modern technology that will save millions of lives and precious Thai Bahts.

    ...pathetic...

Yes it is pathetic and if the lady was fined 5000 for sitting in in the wrong place and the man was fined for taking a photo 5000 Baht as well, by this logic the Thai poster who took the photo and posted it in media should be fined 5000 as well. Me thinking too mut ;)

utter rubbish. and i don't mean that offensively. there should be some understanding of cultural ignorance and i believe the bib pointed that out already. the fine and punishment must remain. absolutely i agree having it posted all over social media is wrong. that's the way the world is now IMO

Well, I could mention disproportionate punishments when it comes to supposedly wealthy foreigners or turning the country into a bath of cultural virtues disregarding the feeding hand etc. It's true that most of the newcomers unfortunately don't dig deep enough to know more about the country they are visiting. I does help but many just don't. They travel without insurance, renting motorbikes without driving licenses etc. I still believe that in a case as this one a warning and explanation would suffice. But ...ups, someone has to learn English to be able to do that. "YOU 10.000 NOW. YOU YOU!!!

  9. I don't think that it is relevant but just for the accuracy the dominant confession in Serbia is Christian Eastern Orthodoxy of the Serbian Orthodox Church. And I see this story as another nail in the coffin of Thai tourism. I am  almost sure that this couple won't ever come back to Thailand. Maybe it was their first day in Bangkok and first time in Asia. They did nothing to deserve such public crucifixion. But what can one expect in the country of submarines.

  11. Hi there. I had the same problem with Bookmark as I've just bought new notebook with window 10 -64. So I contacted the software company and asked them for help. The problem is not the windows 10 -64, but Microsoft Office 64 version. Here are the instructions that I've got from the software maker:

    Remove your office
    remove your access runtime
    restart your computer
    install access runtime 32 bit
    install office 32 bit
    now bookmark program can run

So I gave up the idea to use my comp. with Bookmark. I hope this helped.   Enjoy your Bookmarking ;)

  12. I've got a message on my You Tube from unknown Dutch guy named Davie.

I think the message is genuine and the young man needs some advice or guidance and some facts about Thai education system and school fees as well. As I was thinking what to replay, in order to be objective as much as I can, I've got an idea to share this with you experienced expatriates and Thai Visa readers. I will send him a link to Thai Visa forum, so he can read all your suggestions and opinions. I hope Davie wont mind me doing so.

Here is his message and link to his You Tube profile: Davie's You Tube

    Hello sir,

My name is Davie from Netherlands. I was on vacation in Thailand and met my new girlfriend Jang from Chaiyaphum. She is very special for me, and her nephew now 4 years old is not going to school, because they have no money.

I m setting up an organization for children, and I hope you can help me, because I need information about schools in Thailand. Like names, and the cost for 1 year school, the material like books and stuff, and about the uniform. I m going back in January, and want to visit some schools and places where children not going to school.

My girlfriend have enough problems to think about, and i try not to talk so much with her about my project, because she need to take care about her parents too.

I hope you can give me some valuable information, maybe you now some volunteers who works with children. So i can put it in my plan, and maybe work together. If i have collect enough money i go back to Thailand and sent some children to a school nearby. I want to have the first year about 3 children to school. And after 2 years maybe 10 or more.

    Greets Davie

  13. "If you do not control the classroom on the first day of class, you lose them for the rest of the year."

    I agree with Somtamnication.

And how much respect you really earned you will see next year, when you meet your old students on Teacher's Day. If they come to pay respect, you did a great job.

Some knowledge of Thai language would be beneficial, too.

Most of all be your self, and do your job best you can. No matter what the circumastances are. Don't give up doing the best you can and Jai-Yen-Yen....be cool.

  14. I think people (protesters) in the Suvarnabhumi airport probably do not realize that they have the party of a life time. The concert they are having there is the most expensive concert in the history of human kind. True they could have better singers. On the other hand they are lucky, not only that there is no entrance fee, they even got paid.
