1. Boots has them in 30 mg caps, shop at the right time and get a 50% discount @ 60 caps for THB 550. I understand dosages over 30 mg may have negative side effects for some underlying conditions.

  2. You said it, drag and drop, open itunes, wait for the ipod to connect, if you want you may create a new playlist on the ipod, just right click it, otherwise open a explorer window and drag and drop your file on the ipod, or the playlist you want the item to be in, on the ipod. If you sync it will usually mess things up.

  3. All pretty irrelevant to those of us in the sticks who get a choice of one - an amorphous and pretty tasteless chinese grown large new potato. Not much use for mashing and no use for chipping, roasting or baking. Same same in Tesco and Big C.

(Nice) new potatos are best steamed imo.

    Wrong.

We use those Chinese/Holland potatoes from makro and serve up decent mashed potatoes (with milk/butter) and reasonable roasties.

Can't make decent chips out of them though.

Would be nice to know how you make them into "reasonable roasties".

  4. Yes it has also stopped working for me, upon logging in my free domain service has disappeared. Time to change to dlink dns service if you happen to have a dlink router that automatically does dns updating.

  5. The police does not bother the kids on bikes cause they do not have money, no drivers license and they do not own the bike themselves. So a single office will avoid the hassle and let them go on most occasions. Of course this does not apply when police has setup a serious checkpoint, then you see all the kids making quick u-turns.

  6. You can transfer a non-B to a non-O at Bangkok Immigration, I tried it once and failed because I did not have the proper evidence that the work permit was cancelled (some kind of form or letter from the labor department to be acquired by your former employer when they cancel your work permit). That was then (5 years ago) the only thing missing. So I simply went out of the country to get a new non-O.

  7. Because of previous experience, I bought a years supply of Tonic as the flood was starting including the gin as that was also not available for a month or so. With the things being as they are, I will keep a years supply in stock permanentlygiggle.gif

  8. Koh Chang Paradise Resort is the way to go there, around 2k per night and if you can take the pool villa at 5k, it's definitely worth the money.
Indeed Koh Chang is crowded by Russians, but I am not bothered.
Road conditions are not always very good, as the attached picture shows, this was on the way to the navy battle memorial site
9. It doesn't say artificial sweetener, it just says sweetener. Doesn't that include sugar?

If you look at the Thai version of the Tipco page, it says "no added sugar" ไม่เติมน้ำตาล

    http://www.tipco.net...duct.asp?cid=13

If it has sugar, I don't understand why they wouldn't have to list it in the ingredients when every other drink does

In Thailand "no added sugar" does not include corn syrup as a sugar.

According to the rules "no added sugar" may be written on a label while the product contains corn syrup.

All UHT Carton Thai fruit juices do contain corn syrup as a sweetener. (from reliable factory source)

  10. I always make it this way:

Koh Moo Yang (Grilled pork neck)

If you can get the pork neck fat cut it is the one the isan shops use, it is a thin piece with fat on both sides

otherwise simply use boston butt (San Koh Moo)

slice it no thicker than 1 inch

    marinate in a mix of:

    Chili sauce

    soybean sauce (salty one)

roasted rice (from a pot or simply roasted and ground raw sticky rice)

put it in a plastic bag and shake well

After 30 minutes - 2 hours marinating you can roast/BBQ the pork

I usually roast them in a oven with grill for 30 minutes but a BBQ will do too

Slice the roasted pork into thin slices and you can eat them immediately with some spicy dip

Now for the nam tok moo:

make a broth with half a knorr cube chicken or pork flavor

put the (left over) pork into a wok

pour in some broth so that it barely covers the pork and bring to a boil (not too much broth cause then you get Tom Saeb)

add a good amount of dried chili flakes (1tbs)

add (fake) lemon juice from a bottle

    add fish sauce

Add any herbs you like, usually thai sweet basil, mint, red onion or shallot

after a few minutes of boiling taste it and balance it to your preference with adding fish sauce, lemon juice or some more chili

Some people like it sweet if you do add some sugar
