  1. 'Chaiyong also asked the Thap Lan National Park to follow the boundaries designated in the year 2000 to determine the national park areas as they were drawn up by officials and people living around the area.'

Of course its possible the boundaries were conveniently re-drawn to accomodate the land sell off by the local officials - thus making it 'legal' .

  2. No boats running - the rivers too high and dangerous. Get a bus from the Mukdahan bus station to the bridge. Transfer through immigration to the Thai/Laos bus and then get a tuk tuk on the other side to the consulate. Watch they don't con you no more than 200baht for the tuk tuk and have him wait to take you to the hotel coz you need to stay overnight (if you didn't already know) get to the consulate as early as you can to avoid the long queues. If you want to stay near the 'town centre' where a few bars and restaurants are then the Huanam Hotel is ok but if you just want a decent chalet then ask for Pornpraseart Resort which is fine. Good luck :jap:

  3. "I'm not prepared to return the red passport to Mr Thaksin but I will consider the case based on principles and fairness," stated Mr Surapong. "But if anything was implemented by the previous government for strictly political motives, this government will reinstitute good and fair traditions."

= Heres your passport Mr Thaksin sir sorry for the delay.

  4. I think this a step too far for the Thai education system to manage effectively and I agree with those comments about the tablets being misused, lost , broken, sold etc. Wouldn't it be wiser to invest in one laptop per class, a projector and screen so then the class could still pay attention to the teacher whilst enjoying all those glitzy graphics. Sure there will be problems and glitches but overall it makes more sense to me than jumping straight in with personal tablets.

  5. In 1997, the Cabinet approved the department's 20-year master plan to construct 13 inter-provincial highways totalling 4,150 kilometres and with nationwide coverage. However, only two routes were constructed - Bangkok-Chon Buri and the Outer Ring Road.

The department held a public hearing on the inter-provincial highways yesterday and the findings will be used to adjust the project's master plan and development plan.

So, nothing north of Korat then.

  6. Undertaking on the left, overtaking on bends and hillcrests, overtaking an already overtaking car on a single lane highway, tailgating, threading in and out of fast moving traffic, driving on the wrong side of the road to save a u-turn 500m further up the road, not indicating, jumping red lights, pre-empting green lights, cutting up, impatience, lack of respect for others, double parking (and leaving the handbrake on!) not giving way to the right when turning across traffic or entering a roundabout, not wearing a seatbelt, totally unaware of safe braking distances, insufficient use of the mirrors (except when prising a particularly stubborn piece of moo bing from the front teeth with a toothpick, or checking your hair whilst talking on the mobile) , overtaking then immediately turning off left at the next soi 10m further on.......

I'm very pleased to inform you that you've passed your driving test Mr. Suriwong.:whistling:

  7. PTP - rather than slagging off the goverment and its performance why not draft a manifesto outlining your policies and what you would do instead so that the Thai people can read what you promise to fulfill if elected, then they can weigh up the pros and cons of each side and vote how they see fit.

Or is that too complicated ?B)
