  1. There is also Dee"s mobile fish and chips, that travels around Chiang Mai city

in evenings,I have never tried them but he has some good reviews on Tripadvisor,

visit his Facebook page for times and areas he services.

  2. There maybe restaurants that try to claim their fish and chips are traditional English style, but no, there are no real authentic fish and chips meals cooked in the commercially designed deep fat fryers (as pictured below) served in Chiang Mai and probably not in the whole of Thailand. (Not as far as I know, anyway?).

Somethings I have mentioned many times in the past here on Thai visa, 2 great opportunities for the enterprising business entrepreneur. Be the first to open a real traditional chip shop or creating real proper made New York bagels to sell in Thailand. It would be a first in Thailand and in my opinion an absolute certainty and a sell out.

I don't think there would be enough trade to run a proper fish and chip shop here,

also finding some decent fish to fry would be difficult.and at this time of year potatoes

are also in short supply and expensive.

  3. The best you are going to find in Chiang Mai is Kellys Bistro in Meechok Plaza,

on the Mae Jo road, order the deep sea Cod (their description) THB 199,plus

i usually order a pot of tea and 2 slices bread and butter, plus mushy peas,

the batter is very good and the fish ok,

  4. It would take a very brave person to plead not guilty,EVEN

if they were innocent,as it seems in a Thai court you are

presumed guilty and have to prove your innocence,if you

are found guilty you have to serve the full sentence handed

out by the judge, while if you plead guilty your sentence is

halved, that seems to be the incentive to plead guilty, and

bring trials to a quick conclusion.

  5. GTF I`ll check out Makro in Mae Rim today. Ive found the one on Super Highway to have the biggest stock of beverages but their fresh fish area leaves something to be desired. You always smell the place way before you get there and it aint pleasant. I must admit I havent been there for a while and can only hope they have upgraded or improved that area.

Fresh fish ?, in Chiang Mai,

    regards Worgeordie

  6. If you have all your documents,i.e. driving license, car is taxed, insured,

and you are not driving under the influence, and driving in a proper

manner, they would have to be very imaginative to think something up

to" shake" you down. I also think your friend who says single Farang

drivers are stopped more, just wants you to chauffeur him around.!

    regards worgeordie
