  1. A lot of people fly to Udon because of the difference in airfares I believe.

Flight to Vientiane would be the easiest for sure.

Info about holiday came from website. I had been on there before and remembered a holday this month.

    Have a good trip

    Joe

I dont know how far Vientiane airport is from central Vientiane, so thank you for the reassurance as I have decided to take a Thai Air flight Bangkok to Vientiane on the 14th. Although after reading all 23 pages of this thread, no one has mentioned doing this...?

I hope I dont get denied for a tourist visa.

  2. Bardem was totaly crazy in No Country For Old Men. I saw a nud_e pic of him - his pee pee is tiny. Maybe he's a grower, not a shower! LOL!

And that Ananda dude ... he's in every Thai film, TV ad, billboard ad, magazine cover ... aaarghh

  3. I cannot believe this sad post. When the fellas talk about women like pieces of meat, we are down on them like a pile of hot-cakes. I take pride in how I look, and I stay fit - 55, two kids, and still a flat tummy.

How many of you who are talking about young fit men have given up on themselves? No wonder the fellas go after silly little Thai bar girls.

My man is nothing to look at, but he is smart, caring, and touches me the way I love. I won't tell you where he is from - it doesn't matter.

I feel shame when I hear other women talking like the fat old sexist whore-chasing men we hate.

How much would you pay for a night with Johnny Depp? Disgusting

You registered that handle just to troll us here???!

    NEXT!

  4. Does anyone know why the VGN-TX38 disappeared from the Sony stores in Bangkok? I saw these in Bangkok July-Aug, but late Aug I couldnt find them anymore. As usual the sales staff had no idea why their store doesnt carry it anymore. Just last week we were informed this model was out of stock and/or discontinued because Sony released a new model.

    ???

  5. As previously mentioned by other posters, I second these:

    Zanotti's

    Cafe Chilli

    Crystal Jade @ Paragon

    Belguardo

    AOI

    I also like:

    Erawan Tearoom!

    Crystal Jade @ Erawan

    Can't remember others...

I just love the gourmet style restaurants at bottom floor at Siam Paragon.

You must be in the minority...they're all empty :D

And that's exactly how I want it. :o

  6. ...Samui is probably the best for the cheapest price in the country and is even...
I'd be pissed if that is true because I just came back from Samui - never bothered to look up detox spas because I assumed everything in Samui is overpriced. I need detox!!!

It really is true. You stay next door in a cheaper, nicer room which is also set up for colemas and just pay for the herbs and drinks and colemas at the Spa. You can get all the fresh juices you want at their restauraunt and delicious live food for before and after the fast.

Very cheap and they let you use the no chlorine swimming pool for free. :o

Thank you for that info!!! So I guess I'll have to come back to Samui, then.

P.S. Why does your avatar description read "Unwanted Member" ???

  7. some people (like me) don't have friends or relations back home to help them if they need it, and the embassy won't help much either. i can see how people could end up in this position, and it's sad, but when it is related to alcoholism i find it harder to give sympathy.
    Well said.
Are you seriously saying you don't have any family or friends who are in the position to give or lend you the cost of an economy ticket back to farangland? If that is the case, then such a person has no business traveling or living overseas in the first place.

I mean, when you step away from the comfortable homeland into the big world outside, anything can happen and one would be irresponsible if one didn't have the savings or other back-up plan to enable one to return home in an emergency.

What if [his misfortune] was beyond his control? Don't be too judgmental, dear.
  8. The appliance section at Siam Paragon has the worst customer service.

We recently had a horror experience there after buying an item.

They failed to communicate with the supplier, kept blaming each other.

We spoke with a Thai male "manager" who was a major bull-shitter.

Fortunately, when we came back, a Thai lady manger helped us and we got our refund.

    Buyers beware!

  9. I absolutely detest sandals and (shudder :o ) flipflops. I wear the same clothes I wore in Canada, right down to the sweaters. I stand beside some falang who's dressed for the beach on the BTS and wonder where he thinks the water skiing is, dude looks lost.

    Canada? sweaters? HERE?

    Duuuuuuuuude...

  10. hehehehe the men started their own shoethread in the generaltopics :o

LMAO!!! They can be adorable sometimes, no?

It's extremely hard to find small-sized men's shoes, btw.

I'm a US7.5/Eu39. Most stores have 40 as the smallest.

Since arriving here, I havent worn socks outdoors yet!

I think my feet would melt! :D
