  1. What comes to speaking Thai, the ones I've met in Thailand have been able to express themselves with reasonable English abilities. The ones that can't speak it at all are - from my personal point of view - uninteresting.

Maybe alot of thai guys think same of you because you cant speak thai ? (is what he i think he means towards oni4me not ijwt not confused look).

I agree with ijwt post every has some things they consciously or subconsciously look for in, just some people in different quanities.

This may sound harsh, but I find your above sentence obnoxious, if somone i met on internet who was from another country visiting mine and didint speak our language said that to me id laugh at them. For a extended period.

For me if i was attracted to somone, id try and learn the language its part of the fun! and i dont mean just straight out pure sexual attraction, attraction can be a combination of many things and theres a market for eveything(thank <deleted>) bleh could you image a world were we are all attracted to the same type of guy *shudder* how boring would it be.

Anyway i waffle on to much. :o

  2. I've been always terrible buying gifts to friends and even loved ones. Previously some items I gave to a Thai gay guys deserved little if not almost any attention and were quickly forgotten. I did however spend considerable time to pick them up.

Now I am asking what to give since a special event is approaching and I should give something nice if not extremely valuable.

Any ideas guys? Also nice stories related greatly appreciated.

    :D

    Economic background ?

    Age ?

Single or together or a potential ?

    Hobbies and interests ?

and what have your previously given them ?

how much do you want to spend ?

It should be the thought that counts :o lol

  3. And the relativity to Thailand of this thread is .?????????????????

the airline company fly in and out of thailand?

I dare say, you wont be able to fly direct to any south east asia country very easily using jetstar or quantas soon, you'll have to go through darwin as jetstar is setting up a base in darwin. So people land in darwin from domestic flights all around Australian and swap to the international one.

Although hopefully it will make flying from adelaide and perth cheaper :o

  4. Actually there are millions of Americans who don't like Starbucks either. I'm not sure exactly what countries you are talking about that have mature coffee cultures and whose people wouldn't touch Starbucks with a barge poll, but even after the recent wave of store closures worldwide there are still 45 Starbucks in France, 126 in Germany, 42 in Switzerland, 11 in Austria and 77 in Spain (It is true that Italy has none). There must be quite a few people in those counties who patronize the stores or they would have closed too. The fact that Pizza Hut has amended their menu to take into account local tastes and preferences makes them quite different from Starbucks in that Starbucks doesn't change their product from country to country. Maybe that's part of the reason Starbucks has struggled financially in the last year or so.

Australia maybe ? There closing 2/3rds of their stores here.

  5. Last time i went to Hanoi alone... strolling leasurly along in the park in the old quarters sufficed to get "contacted" by a male "student" wanting to make friends and improve his english.. LOL

Do be careful around the lake, some scammers operate there, eg the lets go to a karaoke bar, which is a room in a house and end up with huge bills etc

But yes more around dusk tends to see a few guys around :o

  6. Generally, keeping a file with all your passwords is a very bad idea.

If you really wanna go safe, keep the records encrypted but put the 40 character password to the collection file itself in your last will of testament.

You can get access to the yahoo account if you are in control of the estate, just need to send yahoo the paperwork for it.

  7. Most folks in the West are still hung up on polarity, like there is no middle ground, only two opposite genders, anatomically and psychologically. No. Sexual orientation and attraction is a continuum, a spectrum on which even you may not be at the extreme end. Most of our Western thinking is shaped by a Church which is/was homophobic for no good reason.

I agree with peace on this, its how i explain sexuality to people. Lot of people just put people in named baskets and they have to be that it doesnt work.

  8. In Europe and Oz you can buy a good wine for Aud$ 20 - $ 50 and very good one from say $ 50- $ 100 .The 500-600 baht wines here are more like cooking wines and they equate to around $ 20 Aud where you have a decent wine ,

I'd regard 15 to 25 as the price for a good wine 25 to 50 for a very good wine 50 to 100 should be excellent (not including hill of grace or grange etc).

Iam based in south Australia though.

  9. I want to go to Vietnam for 4 or 5 days. I have no idea where to go. Saigon? Hanoi?

I am not really interested in museums etc. I want to meet Viet lads. Is is mainly a money boy thing or can you meet normal guys, students etc?

Where is the 'scene'? saunas? anybody know of a 'gay hotel' or can you just take people back anywhere? (I am not looking for backpacker hotels and can pay for reasonable quality)

    Any info welcomed.

    Eddy

Was in Vietnam during March this year in both HCMC(saigon) and Hanoi, saigon comes off a bit more relaxed and cosmopolitan then Hanoi for me was very conservative, as its the bigger business city of the two.

There is no totally gay clubs that I found out about in vietnam have a look at uptopia website they have a more info on clubs, saunas, hotels and cruise spots . A few gay friendly ones (allthough there was one sauna in Hanoi but never went there(was told by a friend who went there it was quite busy), they tend to get shutdown now and then, most of the people I met were through gaydar, didint run into a money boy all the time I was there.

I used a gay tour guide while I was there for sight seeing tours (not sure if i can post the link to his website hee so email pm me for it if you want it). Was cheap provided transport (motobike) to get around the city or can hire a car for you, saw places most probably wouldnt see if i was just doing normaly tours or LPing it. Went to couple of interesting bars (str8 ones) can take you to gay ones if you want.

Taking back depends on the hotel they will nearly always ask for the persons id though. You can get reasonable hotels for 30 to 50 dollars.

Best thing for me was meeting people through gaydar and meeting mates of theres :o, let me know if you want more info on somthing

  10. VOIP--if you use a USA based company in another country that they don't license it for use there then you are in violation of the license agreement. Plus, there are US laws that restrict this usage as well but not enforced. Packet 8 and lingo work well over here... you can get virtual numbers in many countries but Thailand is not one of them. There was a company called (not sure of the name) Asian telecom that offered a service with a bangkok number... but there was a problem because it bypassed the charges that they get for local calls so its no longer around... either shut down or went out of business. Would love to get a virtual number in bangkok as well... tied to a sip box ... so I could use it in Chiang Mai to bypass the phone charges between cites. Please let me know if you find any company that does this.

Have a look at http://www.asterisk.org/ could do that youself if you're inclined to it :o
